just love seeing the kid helping out
Wish he was wearing eye protection 🥽
great way to tie the ad in while still letting me watch you work! prolly the first ad I haven’t skipped past in years
Great work Andy! Only a woodworker can comprehend how many parts had to come together for that nightstand to work, and how hard that is to accomplish.
Needed the word today from Joshua 1:9! Thanks for being courageous and sharing that.
irion lumber always has the best stuff, love those guys
Is this going to be named the Joshua bed. Be strong and courageous! Can’t wait for part two.
Love it!!
Beautiful design, excellent materials, great execution, and a brother in Christ! You earned my subscription. I love the skeletonized drawer cabinets; that’s an idea I’ve had for years and haven’t had the chance to try it yet. It looks awesome. My wife and I are closing on our first house this month and we need a bed so I’m doing a little research. I may attempt something similar to what you did here. Thanks for the inspiration and God bless!
I love watching all the different types of videos you make, but I’ve always enjoyed the furniture the most. Thank you for the verse at the end. My family is going through a lot of medical issues right now and that verse was perfect for me at this time. Please keep the verses coming. Thank you.
I kept waiting for a Paul Sellers name drop with the knife wall talk ;) As always, absolutely amazing work Andy
Looking good, Andy. You have the proper tools but more important is that you know how to use them to the best advantage.
Bill
As all of your projects, looking beautiful. Anything created in walnut becomes a beautiful piece.
Wow thats an amazing design Andy, your patience and dedication knows no bounds. How great to see young Judd showing an interest now. Cant wait for part two.🙏👍
I greatly enjoy all your videos, but this one is exceptional. Also very much appreciate the voice over explaining what is going on. You are an inspiration. I have been woodworking for over 30 years as a hobby and I always pick up a tip or two watching your videos. Thanks
thanks for taking the time to share everything you do, I appreciate the new addition at the very end 🙏
Sir
That is a beautiful peace
Love your work soo much! Very inspirational and I have learned a lot from your channel. Just started producing our own veneers w vacuum press for stave core doors/ furniture/ everything. What fun! Never been soo happy building bespoke projects in the shop to support our main home renovation business. I consider watching your videos as self directed studies that support my career as a self employed general contractor.
It's looking amazing, Andy! 😃
Looking forward to part 2!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Very intricate work. I love that walnut!
I'm really looking forward to part 2.
Thanks Andy.
Absolutely Stunning! I wish I had the patience to be able to build something like this.
Another great vídeo! That's one of your best works, Andy. And it's clear to me that you couldn't do something like this, if you weren't getting older. I'm 39 and, and because I really understand what you're feeling, I try to accept that, with age, very good things also come. This build is prove of that.
I've missed these build videos!
Thanks again for sharing your journey with us.
Thank you!!!
Wow absolutely stunning the hole bed looks awesome but those nightstands are absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see the finished product. Amazing work as always.
Amazing work Andy! I too worry about my STANIMA ;) but my wife tells me not to worry, that its normal... happens to every man....
Amazing. This will be a great piece. Looking forward to part 2
Great work Andy you could have used a router jig for identical turning of those parts.
Incredible craftsmanship. Loved this video.
I’m just now getting to watch this build. I love it so far. Love the detail. Nice work. I’m gonna go watch part 2 now
Another beautiful piece. Those nightstands are really amazing.
I sympathize with the eyesight degradation. My near vision started changing when I hit 50. For really small detail work I wear readers and sometimes use a headlamp to get extra light on the subject. Looks dorky, but it works.
I think I’m going to need to get the readers soon. I keep squinting but that doesn’t seem to work!!!
Andy, as always fantastic and inspiring work!
Love vegging out to watch your stuff also like the tip on transferring your line around the board. I’m a welder by trade but laying out tips can be universal. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!!
I love the side tables. Nice work as always.
SO COOL. WELL BADASS . Great work Andy
Super sick. Love it
Interesting and complex design. Well done.
Andy all your projects looks beautiful
fantastic job Andy
Wait till you're 57....I can still focus fairly close-up, but need 2x the light I used to need. I use magnifiers fairly often too when doing inlay, fret jobs (I build guitars), etc.
great build, looking forward to the next chapter. i like your mix of old and new tools, very few modern tools come close to old iron both in hand tools and machinery. my handtools are a mix of old stanley and modern veritas(lee valley)
Wish I had the money to buy 1 of those. Looks amazing!
I absolutely love that block plane. That is the only one I have.
I’m with you there!
That guy does nice work.
very nice design you came up with. what shocked me in this video is your little boy dangerously approaching the drill press as you are using it! I have seen too often hair getting caught in the turning chuck.
I had a very close eye on him
Fascinating!
Amazing skill set😳
Nice work.
love it!!
My soul hurt when you said you lathed all of those dowels yourself. Beautiful piece though! Excited to see the end work.
thank you Andy . when i was a machinist i would use a prick punch to better show /drill where i needed . just in case you did not know .
Thanks for the tip!
Andy watched you since u started what 3/4 yrs ago? What a nice little family the wife & you have managed and my heart sank when you almost lost one of those little Rascals!
But God is Good!
I remember you used to do videos starting with the morning commute? At 1 st I would think “ doesn’t this man live right next to his shop”? Anyway I am a finish carpenter and I actually use some of your skills to apply to mine!
Keep’em coming buddy from an old Nor Cal farming country guy ! I hv been to LA like twice in my 60 + yrs and both times I got ill from all the wokeness floating in the air! Had to be hospitalized and give a backbone transfusion?
😊
What about the deck!! Railing, cable, and decking product!!
It's coming soon! Working on that video now.
Thanks!
Is this lathe not able to work with a template?
You could probably mount a duplicator on it but I don’t have one.
Hello Andy. Is not a platform bed. Is a type asian bed I saw here in japan but really I dont know the origin country.
Getting old isn’t something we all look forward to. However, the alternative isn’t appealing either. As you know Andy, God did not create us to last forever. We all do have an appointment with Him in His perfect timing.
Well said!
I kid you not I’m making something very similar
That's exactly true. I never told my kids to go lift weights with me. I did races and lift weights. Guess what. Without me telling them. My son wanted to start racing also and then later both my son and daughter started working out with weights and what really surprised me was my daughter which is what people would call a really girly girl. She told me she never thought she would have ever enjoyed it but she does. Proud dad
I know you’re using relative dimensioning and it didn’t matter in the long run, but please do not trust a 1/2” wrench as a gage. I used to work for a tool maker and the wrenches are made with surprisingly large tolerances
You’re actually right. The craftsman I apprenticed under would heart his wrenches and hammer them down to size. They’re almost always oversized in my experiences, so I’ll usually turn my tenons a little smaller after I finish sizing with the wrench.
