Bank Fishing For Stocked Trout - Powerbait Fishing

- Took Kevin to Leaburg Dam to catch stocked trout with Brian. We used Powerbait mice tails with a lot of scent.
Rod: 6'6" spinning rod
Reel: Shimano 2500 size reel
Line: 10# braid line
Leader: carolina rig with a 3/4 oz weight
Hook: #6 baitholder hooks
Bait: Powerbait mice tails of various colors.
The key is to just add scent so these fish can smell it. We used a lot of different scent such as krill, anise, garlic plus.

Salmon are in right now. That drift boat was fishing for salmon. I love that float. I do it often.
I use that same cooler backpack for my fishing gear too! cooler section works mint for plano boxes

With the dam gone you may be able to catch salmon there one day again.
Dam comes down in 10yrs.
I fish there 2 to 3 times aweek. Fly fish from a tube.
Catch and release avg 30 fish a day.
Cookie-cutter Hatchery Brats; but they're fun.
Kevin out fished all!! Congrats Kevin. But beware your Dad doesn't take lightly being out fished. Is scenting your bait -mice tails and adding more to power bait? Do you re-scent bait after every bait check?
He's getting better each day. Yes, I always re-scent after each fish.
According to OPB, the dam won't be removed earlier than 2032 and probably later than that.
I have read and watched articles and videos that stocked fish are all GMO. Is that true❓

I do it off camera.
Everyone I know has rod holders. They put them on the water line and not on a picnic table. Partly because everyone in the fishing party has to walk around instead of in front of the tables.
No real good spot to stick them in the ground up there. Picnic tables have a ton of space behind them, leaning rods up on the table is no problem at all there. Maybe if they were further from the water it would be more rude

putting fish on picknick table is disgusting.
Why?
The fish will be washed and cleaned before they are cooked.
The picnic table has a lot worse on it, like bird poop.
Just an fyi, if ur boy hits his limit, he may not be casting out…..and if ur lines are out and ur far away from it, it can be considered that ur boy has more than one/2 rods out
Depends on states . You are allowed to continue fishing but catch and release . There is no rules about you have to stop fishing . And even if you standing next to a rod it doesn’t matter . It’s possession when you leave not to have more .
