it's so great to see stevie is still loved in this day and age, most of my school friends hadn't heard of him, so i introduced them to his music, and they love it, bar 1 or 2 (bastards). his legacy still lives on, and if you dont like him, dont bother commenting, and trying to dampen his genius! Stephen Ray Vaughan-October 3, 1954 August 27, 1990-he will be remembered
I'm not the biggest blues fan, it's good and all but there is just something about Stevie Ray's playing that really stands out from other blues guitarists. This man played with soul like no one else, you could swear that the guitar was actually a part of him. And yes he is underrated he deserves just as much if not more recognition than Clapton. Hands down the best blues guitarist of all time.
Holy shit... I officially deem this the Best Cover Song Ever. We all know he was a guitar GOD, but I can't say enough about his VOICE! My god... What a great voice...
Stevie Ray Vaughan can play a guitar. My husband and I were going to see him in concert the year he died, I believe 1988 or 89, broke our hearts to hear it on the radio. We love you Stevie, I know there is good music in heavan!!!
Whats really nice, is that both Stevie's versions opened up interest into both genres. I for one had never heard Stevie Wonders version before SRV's. I really appreciate Stevie W's version and his style of playing.
stevie gives me chills more than any other type of musician, music or sound! ive been listening to him every day since i was 2 years old. theres videos of me as a baby with a hat on watching a video of him and pretending to be him! when others were watching barney i watched him every day my dad said it got obsessive. ill love him, miss him till im dead.
I saw Mr. Vaughn at Deer Crek in Ind. about a year before he died. If the blues had never been played there would be no heavy metal today. I love my blues and metal. Only the good die young!!!..........RIP MR. STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN
amen sister. It sometimes is a comfort to know that the lord has a place for some of his greatest creations. SRV R.I.P. thanks for the inspiration for playing most of my life.
This version from Stevie is better than Stevie Wonder's version, IMO. No slight against Stevie Wonder, but Stevie Ray not only had soul, he made the song rock too, w/ off-the-hook guitar.
The Drunken King Stevie Wonder's version is great, don't get me wrong, but the combination of the "rock n soul" vibe and guitar from SRV is what takes it up a notch for me.
I've seen this song played quite a bit by a lot of people, but the mix of Stevie's guitar and soulful voice, along with Reese in the background, it is just brilliant. Easily the best.
The ACL performance from 89 that practically only real Stevie fans know about takes this song to a new level that no other person can even get close to replicating
Stevie Ray Vaughan was - and is still the man! R. I. P.! Cheers from Sweden! Jesus Christ! Texas - jihaaa! We are not alone - at all!!! Name of bassplayer please! And hot damn - give us more! Peace! God bless!
Stevie was one of the BEST Blues guitarist of all time...In the top 5 IMO, and hated playing BIG venues. I saw him four times and never endured a crowd over 7,500 but he delivered what WE wanted and then some.
I just love this man!!!!! I got into him about two years before he died. Him and my brother share a birthday, and he died on my brother's best friend's birthday. I know he would have done so much for the music industry had he lived longer, but you know what they say.....stars that shine very brightly burn out quickly, and they are gone. That is what Stevie was, as star that shined bright and was gone from us too soon..........
Texan or not this man was undeniably talented he could rock it out. Seen SRV many times with a lot of other great guitarist. He felt the music like it was the air he breathed. He could take you along for the ride of your life. Amazing guitarist. This song was kick ass when Little Stevie Wonder did and SRV did a great cover of it and put his own flair of genius to it. WOW.... What TALENT. RIP SRV. You are greatly missed and the heavens gotta be rocking out with all the talent there with you.
Give it up Oak Cliff (Dallas,TX) for Stevie Ray, 22 years ago we lost a great guitar player, a man who entertained from his heart with some of the greatest there is. RIP Stevie,we love you and have not forgotten you.
2 hero,s of my combined in one clip.the writer of the song, stevie wonder, and the guy who,se playing it in his as usual known way of guitar playing.respect.
i've played guitar 15 years. and i think this style (which is how i like to play balls to the walls blues) is waaaaay sicker than dream theater or any of that shredding shit!!! now who's with me!
From the MTV Mardi Party Weekend Set Recorded on a Thursday Night what a Night I had bought the ticket the day before from a ticket scalper paid 20.00 over face value I am so glad I was there They jammed until 3:15 am Best $45.00 I've ever spent. Thank You SRV !!!
Nothing like a legend of rock n roll and Blue's on a stage playing his guitar and singing out to the airwaves all across the world..terrific band ..Stevie Ray Vaughan the best at giving you a performance .. .
Shit, I'm a lifelong fan of Vaughan, sometimes I think I'm dreaming - one thing can't be that good. But it is! Steve Ray Vaughan and Jeff Healy are the masters of blues-rock! I absolutely admire you and you, who listen to this music! Only thing I am sorry of is that Jeff himself isn't around no more to read this. RIP. Jeff, your music will always be with us!
He performed his final show ever at Alpine Valley in WI. It's maybe 90 mins south of me. I could have gone to this concert. I still regret it to this day. I knew someone who was there. She said it was one of the best shows she ever went to.
SRV played form his soul. You can tell by the way he plays that it is just him and his maker communicating. He felt every note. He was a one of a kind, he set his own standard. The music world is better for it. Long Live Stevie.
Watch how close Tommy Shannon watches Stevie....I'd have my eyes glued to him too, you can learn some good lessons in life just by watching Mr. Vaughans hands. He did Stevie Wonder justice! 2 of the best!
damn i wish i could have seen him live, my dad grew up in austin and was in school there at the time hes was playing there in the early eighties , he used to watch him play every week at antonines and continental when he was not well known yet.
I agree with everything you said. People need to learn music and learn the facts before they type. This tune is super funky and I fucking love it. Good for you my man!!
I think its easy to loose sight of what its all about. If it makes the hair on the back of you neck stand up or it makes you cry, that's what its all about. If your a player and you love what you do and where the music takes you, who gives a shit what others think. That's the beauty of music, it works on all levels. Each to his own.
Wow.....just wow. What a great loss he was. It's a shame he's not around anymore. I would have done just about anything to see him in concert. No one does it better.
I can’t count how many devices I’ve downloaded this video to, most preferable for their talent displayed here. Truly masters of their craft. From that insane snare to the seamless bass, and of course the keys and Stevie. Pushing that inspiration out that hard on stage because of how confident and strong you feel about the song like what you see here, is what gives me inspiration.
20 years after and we still miss you a lot Stevie. Keep on shine on us, your strong desire and willpower is an example of what a real artist can do with his guts and feels. You acted with your soul exposed freely and uninterruptedly, shot of fear and expediences and always with decency, humbleness and acknowledgment of the masters. That's why you became one of them. R.I.P. SRV
He still lives in each one of us who took hold of what his music was really all about...Love, truly the only thing that any of us have to give, or accept.
SRV was a COMPLETE musician - he played kickass chords and rhythm to accompany himself and would run off a blistering solo and then bring it right back into the comp again. Even with a trio format he filled all the space with his chords and comp - only other guy who could did that as well was Hendrix, another one is Johnny Winter - but a of lot 'guitar gods' can't do that - just solo.
Respond to this video... The word Leg comes to mind I think his last years are an inspiration to people who want to kick drugs and alcohol Thanks Stevie for encouraging others to kick them things that eat us inside out and take away the real person inside
The guitar he's playing looks *just* like the one I'm looking at getting (and that's not a coincidence :D) Beautiful guitar, and of course, beautiful music, as always. Wish he hadn't left us so early (Before I was even born :() The music industry might be palatable if he were still alive...
I've watched this video so many times...
Man I love the tone Chris is getting out of his snare. Just perfect.
I was there❤
that snare drum is bangin boy
Holy Shit! Has to be one of the best musicians of all time!
This was the best version of SRV's Superstition. We need a HD version available for d/l
He’s got a view that are good. Tokyo is good too as well as Iowa 87
it's so great to see stevie is still loved in this day and age, most of my school friends hadn't heard of him, so i introduced them to his music, and they love it, bar 1 or 2 (bastards). his legacy still lives on, and if you dont like him, dont bother commenting, and trying to dampen his genius!
Stephen Ray Vaughan-October 3, 1954 August 27, 1990-he will be remembered
I don't believe anyone can get a band going like Stevie Ray could. He led like no one could.
No disrespect to Stevie Wonder, or even Jeff Beck, but this is the best version of this song.
jcwelchjr I'm sure to Stevie Wonder it wouldn't be disrespectful at all. He loved Vaughan's rendition of this song!
Santiago James Without a single doubt!
Stevie wonder agrees
No way. Listening to the Stevie Wonder and Jeff Beck’s version boggles the mind. I love SRV but this isn’t even close to Wonder’s rendition.

You can’t even remotely compare the guitar parts
I'm not the biggest blues fan, it's good and all but there is just something about Stevie Ray's playing that really stands out from other blues guitarists. Such a shame he passed away he is completely amazing his music will live on forever stevie you ROCK!!!
Agree!! i am an opera singer and study classical music and i have to say this man had special tone and a gift from God!!
Stevie Ray...beyond brilliant, just get the blood flowing!!
Holy shit... I officially deem this the Best Cover Song Ever.
We all know he was a guitar GOD, but I can't say enough about his VOICE! My god... What a great voice...
wow, that's a real 80ies verb on that snare :D
Stevie still is amazing to see, sadly he died too young for me to see him play live.
Stevie was and is the greatest guitarist ever..
I am living for this drum tone. I know it's "bad", but I honestly love it.
Stevie Ray Vaughan can play a guitar. My husband and I were going to see him in concert the year he died, I believe 1988 or 89, broke our hearts to hear it on the radio. We love you Stevie, I know there is good music in heavan!!!
Love it!!!...Great blues music.....RIP Stevie...
What a a VOICE!!!!!!!! The man was a Superpower.... Unbelievably powerful singer...nothing I can post can justify the guitar playing either.
hats off to the sound man on this one sounds great most of all Stevie still don't seem right he's gone!
Transferring material on xbox to a computer
Thank you Stevie Wonder for writing this song. Thank you Stevie Ray Vaughan for owning it!
Stevie Wonder's version is the baseline, this version takes it to another level, 'nuff said.
SRV was on a level no one could reach.
I was there for this concert
Stevie Ray Vaughan will never RIP. SRV LIVES ON FOREVER!
"When you bellllerrrvv an thang, that yurrr durrnt understan,' then yeh suff-ha"
love it haha
Whats really nice, is that both Stevie's versions opened up interest into both genres.
I for one had never heard Stevie Wonders version before SRV's.
I really appreciate Stevie W's version and his style of playing.
God I swear Stevie was HENDRIX reborn!
J bLACK No, Stevie was hendrix x1000
+Darth Revan haha he wishes... jimi is the best
This solo is second to none! 30 years later, he is still giving us a glimpse at the future, as well as telling tales from the past.
what an intro
stevie gives me chills more than any other type of musician, music or sound! ive been listening to him every day since i was 2 years old. theres videos of me as a baby with a hat on watching a video of him and pretending to be him! when others were watching barney i watched him every day my dad said it got obsessive. ill love him, miss him till im dead.

I don't know. The guitar solos are nice, sure, but Stevie Wonder is the better singer by far.
The Drunken King Stevie Wonder's version is great, don't get me wrong, but the combination of the "rock n soul" vibe and guitar from SRV is what takes it up a notch for me.
Just respect and enjoy great music and leave opinions to the haters
Super slick,Stingray Stevie Ray n Double Trouble!! EPIC , Cheers mate
If you ever wanted to know what GOD looked like, look no further then Stevie Ray Vaughn!
Saw Stevie at this show I think. He was the real deal! Amazing talent! When you believe in things that you don't understand then you suffer! NIce!
Everyone should stop to argue about who's the best guitarist, you should just listen to the awesomeness of this song
SVR's guitar is the most melodious of all time regardless of gender, is the kind of artist who makes new things needed today foulbrood
Stevie Ray Vaughan was - and is still the man! R. I. P.! Cheers from Sweden! Jesus Christ! Texas - jihaaa! We are not alone - at all!!! Name of bassplayer please! And hot damn - give us more! Peace! God bless!

Damned...
He brings the guitar to sing!!! I have to bow me ahead Stevie...
Stevie had it all! Speed, passion and an incredible, aggressive approach! There was no subtlety here, he played the hell out of that guitar!
Give it up Oak Cliff (Dallas,TX) for Stevie Ray, 22 years ago we lost a great guitar player, a man who entertained from his heart with some of the greatest there is. RIP Stevie,we love you and have not forgotten you.

Stevie was clean, sober and on top when he died. He had nothing left to prove. He was the best and we are lucky to have his work,
Stevie Ray Vaughan is Superstitiously phenomenal..band is great..Tremendous rhythem and lyrics..RIP Stevie

Normally I like originals album versions, but this is by far the best version of this song I have ever heard.

Man as good of a guitar player as stevie was, I also think his voice was sooo under rated!
The very best cover of Superstition--hands down!
He performed his final show ever at Alpine Valley in WI. It's maybe 90 mins south of me. I could have gone to this concert. I still regret it to this day. I knew someone who was there. She said it was one of the best shows she ever went to.
it seems like everything just flowed right out of his fingers, through the guitar, and out of the amp...one of the greatest musicians ive ever seen
vaughan is best blues guitarist! - and man those drums sound good
absolutely incredible. an actual real musician and so talented. we were blessed to have witnessed and lived in the same era.
ive been at stevie for about 20 years now hes the REAL DEAL!
apples and oranges homie. a bluesman and a pop-star? both amazing and you gotta listen to them both.
Chris' drums sound killer in this one, and Stevie was always on fire!

The best, THE FREAKING BEST! My mind can't comprehend what just happened.
I agree with everything you said. People need to learn music and learn the facts before they type. This tune is super funky and I fucking love it. Good for you my man!!
One of the greatest guitar players and singers that ever lived!!!!!!!!
I think this was Aug 7 1987 at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans my Aunt brought me to this concert.
I was there 😊

What is it with this guy and making other peoples songs sound fuckin awesome?!?!
SRV just such a boss.
amazing......mindblowing, isn't it great when someone takes a great tune an makes a great cover??

Always a treat to hear a SRV song. His singing sounds better every time I hear it.
He does that live thing pretty darn good. Props to Double Trouble.
Guy was a legend....Just pure raw talent.....god i would have killed to see him live....
Hearing SRV for the first time was a HOLY SHIT moment of my life.
