I think it's games like this that gives game creators an example of good gaming for the future. Something that gives you long term difficult challenges and objectives like hard mode robot factory or the team series collection. It's these little challenges that made us feel far better when we completed them, it's that need to complete something and own that experience which makes it so damn satisfying. I love the fact that I can hear and identify each individual instrument used to make this track (or most of them). The ability to do that is something most songs on the radio and the vast majority of modern music lacks and is something I like about music in games.
Why do so few games now have a soundtrack this unique and memorable. I feel likeso many now are forgettable and more samey than ever...or is it just me?
Payday 2 and Project Wingman both have great soundtracks. Hearts of Iron 4's "Empire of the Sun" and Europa Universalis' "Ride Forth Victoriously" are fantastic too. And even in a game like SCP: Secret Lab, there's "Final Flash of Existence". It all depends on the games you play.
While I've never played them I've enjoyed Bravely Default's sound track and Ori and the Blind Forest. Hades is another one that has a great sound track. hum, Ori and the Will of the Wisps seems to have a great sound track too. at least their first song. Great game music is rare but does exist if you look hard enough.

"You can try lawman, but you'll never take me alive!" I swear there is not a single song in this game thats bad. If I had to pick a favourite TS2 level song, it would be a tough call between this and Siberia.
i heard this from one of my friends in one of his vids, and its the best EPIC music ever!!! THIS SONG WOULD MAKE ANYTHING EPIC, BETTER THAN REQUIEM FOR A TOWER EVER WOULD!!@!!111
I played through the original Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox in 2010 with this as the soundtrack for the shootouts and horse chases, I'd hit the middle button and bring up music player and play this on loop.
Ahhh the memories! Camped out on the thinnest ledge we could find, robofish crouched in front of me, Cortez stood behind, unleashing round after round of Minigun bullets into the green flaming monsters running at us, one after another, never ending!
@MONSQUEEKY I highly agree with you, it would fit perfectly for gun shootouts with the mexican bandits, the intro of the song fits very well in gun duels,
@Stuffman31 Google "Timesplitters 4 Eurogamer 1 November 2010". It's the second result that comes up, the first after the Wikipedia article on the game.
@Tenfey On the contrary, Crytek recently said that they'll make TimeSplitters 4 if publishers show interest. If they don't show interest, they'll make a spiritual successor to TimeSplitters. So far, from what I've heard, publishers have been showing interest in it so it's not unlikely.
Oh I've missed playing that awesome game on ps2 it was one of my worlds favourite game ever wish it come on xbox one s including timesplitters 12an Future Perfect 😌😊
Well I rarely hear little kids when I play Halo, but you still have a good point. It's the reason I stopped playing COD online and I only played it for like a week.
@GlacialHorizon I think that if they make a new one they'll publish it themselves, although I might be wrong, Free Radical doesn't exist anymore anyway (now it's Crytek UK). The thing with TS is that even though it didn't have the best graphics and newest tech and whatnot, it was still way more fun and had waaayy better multiplayer than any other game I can remember. It's the most fun I've had in a shooter I think.
The whip sound effect just completes this song.
