@@shirleyboy8859 but I quench that thirst by playing GTR2 and downloading the Le Mans 1977-1985 track mod and some Group C cars. I’m also running the 24 hours of Le Mans 1978 with the 935/78 “Moby Dick” in GTR2.

Very cool.. have been there many times, and it was incredible. But it changes over the years.. from a pretty rural area with little to none facilities and services, where people drove from far away themselves for great entertainment along the nearby roads.. to a multi-national company actually changing the street-planning to accommodate the track, where buses of more or less drunk come to party, and see the most racing on the big screen in ready-built luxury camps
0:33 I was there in '84 and watched that corner for a while, it was a tight corner like at the end of your street and I couldn't believe they were going through at 90 mph
This was a Dome RC83 using a 4.0 N/A Ford DFL. Qualified 21st @3:39. The pole which was a Lancia LC2 ran a 3:17, so yes, there are faster cars, this one was full bore for a 4.0 N/A.
The speed record with chicanes was set in the first year of their existence by a 1990 Nissan at 366 km/h. Unbeaten to this day. Says just enough about the monsters back in the day.
@@WymiataczPlays Yeah, I know the incident. It happened due to a malfunction of the turbo cut-off valve of the given car. I'm not sure about the year you refer, I'll be back with confirmation. Yes, it is true, and was set by a Nissan R90CK driven by Mark Blundell.
Love how he backs off for the corner TO 335KPH !!!
2021 and group c still rule.
I was there somewhere, working on a Lola T 610... only did 3 hours in the race though, Great experience. :-)

Damn. Must’ve been an experience.
@@BarackObama-to3ht Oh it was.....One of many during 27 years in Racing.... :-))
@@shirleyboy8859 I’m 16. I like my life, but I would 100% trade it to be a driver in the 70s and 80s.

Geiler Sound dass waren noch Zeiten die ich leider nicht Erleben könnte.😔
One of the best videos I have seen. Thanks!
Great Video … Beautiful car and Sound … one of the Best onboards ever
0:37 to 1:50 is probably the coolest onboard view ever. Sounds immaculate too.
The Mulsanne straight is such an iconic part of motorsport history and this video really make you understand why !!

251MPH was the fastest ever recorded down tbe straight if I recall and it was a much more powerful turbo car.
Where did this film come from?
in le mans 1984 there was the only car #39 - dome rc83 with cosworth DFL 4.0 L . It was DNS , so it`s a practice or qualification
www.racingsportscars.com/chassis/photo/RC83-01.html
It`s a practice
Yeah! guys but what car are we in here! is it a ford!..no wait! its not a Porsche!..what is it!
nice video! The speed indication is fake, but probably figures are realistic
Fake how? It's a Dome RC83 using a Cosworth DFL.
