Another amazingly well produced video mate - keep up the good work. It's only a matter of time before your beautifully produced videos get the exposure they deserve.
+Rachel & Jun I admit, Guile was a bit of a stretch. No worries! I tried to edit around it, but as you probably saw the weather wasn't that great and there wasn't a lot of snow.
Did anyone noticed how calm the monkeys were? some of them are like meditating in the hot water :) Its beautiful isn't it. It shows that they natural habitat has not touched by the Japanese. Much respect for the Japanese..
I came here from Rachel and Jun's channel and I must say that I love this video! So beautifully done and had me very interested. I can't wait to watch more from you guys!
Whoa, Rachel wasn't kidding at all when she said your videos are really well edited etc. This is the first I've watched (so far) but it's so good! Now I really really *really* need to visit Japan.
Oh man, so much nostalgia. I lived Matsumoto for a bit over a year, and my fiance has family in Nagano so we go there often. I think the coolest thing about Matsumoto Castle is the hidden floor. From the outside it looks like there are only 5 floors but there is a hidden 6th floor with no windows where castle grad could ambush an attacking force. Beautiful video man, as always.
+Happy In Japan I've always desired to live in Japan but I'm having a difficult time figuring out how. If it's not too personal can I ask what career you chose to be able to live in Japan? I would love to be able to experience every one of your videos in person.
Lori's umbrella and Andrew's Guile hair... Ha ha! This is a brilliant video! Happy In Japan is my currently my favourite UA-cam channel. I enjoy this format- the dialogue between you two is so much fun! Looking forward to Tour Japan Season 3.
This image quality, or say I say video quality, is a amazing!!! Camera work, editing, panning all super professional and beautiful. Simply a joy to watch.
This is honestly by far one of the most aesthetically pleasing, emotionally jerking, and just awe-inspiring videos I've ever seen. I inspire to be just like you one day
Just came here from Rachel's maglev train vid and very glad that I did. Beautifully shot and edited , keep up the good work. And I know what you mean about trains, a day on a train is a day well spent for me. 1 Thumb up and a subscription.
+Kent Bishop Thanks! Ya, not everyone loves seeing the countryside via train window, but IMO it's part of the fun of traveling in Japan. Never gets old me.
Loved the intro and style of filming. I totally forgot that there was suppose to be 'snow' for these shots as I was lost in the music and the adventure. PS I like the silly jokes. They add your on touch and personality to the videos.
Great video and editing. I was up in the area just a couple of weeks ago for snowboarding....can't believe the lack of snow this year. When I visited Jigokudani a few years ago, it was covered. Keep up the good work.
came here on recommendation from rachel and jun, as she already said your editing is really impressive really gives the travelling-tv-program vibe butt on a more personal level which gives off a very warm feeling. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Very helpful when planning future videos. Would you rather see more videos like this one or more Tour Japan episodes (the "other" style of vids on this channel). -Andrew
I also came over from Rachel & Jun's channel and what a great find! I really liked this video and the camera quality, editing...etc was just great. I love how you also included a map/path of the trip. Going to watch the other videos now :)
Thanks! You'll find 2 different styles of travel videos here. Tour Japan episodes are more informational/guide-book-ish and the videos in the "Epic travel" playlist are more come-along-for-the-trip-ish like this one... As you can see I'm good with words... not :-/ Thanks for stopping by and hope you like the other vids! -Andrew
This video brought so many memories! We stayed in Nagano a couple of years ago to visit the snow monkeys and the Zenkoji temple was definitely worth a visit! Thank you for the video, it was beautiful!
This video is amazing! The editing is supreme and the content is fantastic!! I especially enjoyed the frog statue (I wonder why) and I'm a sucker for castles, so this was brilliant to me. I just subscribed so I'm now a registered stalker of this channel, keep up the amazing work, I'm sure that you'll get a LOT of subscribers.
Hi, Thanks for subscribing! Absolutely loved this video! The filming, the editing, the motion graphics, all of it worked together so well to show how fun and beautiful Japan can be. Really appreciate channels like these. Looking forward to more videos :) All the best!
Just to summarize it real quick: Kyoto, Nara, Nagano, Matsumoto, Takayama, Nikko, Tokyo, Shirakawago, Yamanouchi And all that in just one week, but if i am lucky then i'm gonna be in Japan for a whole year as a volunteer in Kobe.
Thanks for sharing this great video! Obviously you are a wonderful photographer as the images are so stunning. Slow train trip to countryside is always nice. Shirakawa-go and Hida-takayama are also great destination.
Very well made and informative video. This is the first video I have seen from your channel. Really loved it. Professionally edited. Would love to see all other videos and hope you keep coming with more......
I definitely would have said Naruto too; couldn't help myself! :) Also glad you enjoyed being on the trains; when we visit my family (east coast US to Midwest) we're on the little train for an hour and a half, and then the big train for fifteen hours! But we still think it's fun!Anyway, I really loved this video - beautiful editing, beautiful scenery, and helpful info - hitting the "subscribe" button now!
Holy crap, this video was amazing. Such a professional finish I forget I'm watching it on youtube. Can't wait to watch more of your videos and see some more adventures :D
You and your wife are an awesome couple! Adventurous, intelligent, interesting and interested, and you both just trying seen like a fantastic pair! Glad you discovered each other! I love both your spirits. I love snow monkeys. My favorite monkey in the world is the Snub Nosed monkey in China, ADORABLE! But, the most beautiful monkey in the world is the Snow Monkeys! Their babies are beyond gorgeous, the adults, with their plush fur and red faces just beg to be admired 💜 I've got to follow you two and your adventures so I'll subscribe. I look forward to living vicariously through you two 🥰 Thank you for sharing your interests and journeys with us all. 🤗
I love so much that your channel is starting to grow! You deserve every bit of the attention you're getting :) . Keep it up! I'm looking forward to your upcoming season as well. They never disappoint.
They definitely seem Pretty awesome. Don't cut yourself short though, cause the quality of your videos is what got me to stick around in the first place haha.
Came from Rachel & Jun's channel and I have to say I have made the best decision 😁 subscribed. I am planning to visit Japan by the end of this year and I happy to receive helpful travel informations through your videos. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. 😁
Wow! These videos are so cool!! I am so happy Rachel and Jun told me about you guys!! I am hoping to study abroad to Japan next year and make videos! Probably not as good as these, but still! These are awesome!!
Pretty well! I made a new video for school and for fun about drone piloting/racing and put some motion stuff in there, too. My instructors thought it turned out really well, and I'd agree with them.
damn~~~!!! I wish I'd have a million UA-cam account and sub every single one of them to you guys. Everything is perfect, the length, the music, the scenes, THE EDITING!!! lol
Casey T Le thanks very much! You may also like the videos I make for the japan-guide channel: ua-cam.com/users/japanguide , specifically the ones in the "Travel Reports" playlist
Added to my favorites, just so I can watch it again as a reference for my upcoming trip to Japan.LOVE the way it was filmed and edited and I liked you guys as well, you have a new subscriber!
Maaannn the editing.... wow! I really loved it. I´ve been following a bunch of vloggers from Japan and your videos are the best by far, CONGRATULATIONS you just won a new subscriber
Thanks! Nice name! Just a wild guess, but you into Pokemon at all? You should check out the Pokemon Honest Trailer if you haven't already. Hilarious. -Andrew
Very stunning video Andrew. When you first changed your channel name to Happy In Japan I was really looking forward to your videos. I'm glad I've stayed loyal to your channel.
Rick! There aren't many people who were around or would remember the name change. Thanks much for this comment, I value long term viewers highly. Stay tuned... It's about to get good (hopefully) this year. Andrew
Really cool video! It was great getting to see Lori in the video, too. The Seishun 18 Ticket is really great when you aren't in a hurry. We have used it to go to Tokyo from Kyoto, but we stayed overnight in Shizuoka.
Ya, I hadn't realized how little she's been in the videos until this one. Since she and I travel and shoot the videos together (mostly) I often forget that people who watch the videos don't know what a big part of the channel she is, even though she's not always shown.
***** You always mention her in the Tour Japan videos, but I don't think we ever really see her. Seeing her adds another layer to the video and makes it fun to watch.
Your videos are definitely really worth watching, great editing, great quality, great music and of course great filming! Keep up the good work, you earned yourself a new subscriber!
Hidden gem on youtube, thanks for Rachel&Jun i know this channel, You really made a very good quality of video, Mind if you share how to make the video? I think your videography is really cool
Glad you found my channel, thanks for the comment! Rachel and Jun were very kind to let me help with the Linimo video :-) My videos are all editing in Adobe Premiere with motion graphics created in Photoshop and Illustrator and then animated in After Effects... is that what you were looking for? Oh, I also shoot the video with a NikonD750, Sony rx100m3, and GoPro Hero3... Let me know if you have more questions. :-)
+Happy In Japan Thank you for your detailed answered! I love your editing too but this sounds way too complicated for a beginner like me haha. Keep up the awesome work !!
Awww the monkeys are so cute... i was suppose to see them last trip to japan but funnily instead of heading to Nagano, my friend read the signs wrongly and we ended up in Nagoya xDDD.... something i'll never forget ever.. HAHA... oh well another reason to go back to Japan again... you're vids are amazing... really tempts me back to japan and see the monkeys this time hahaa
My mind is blown!! Your editing is so clean, professional and very good quality. Your videos made me miss Japan soo much =( ! Will have to visit again soon.
That is amazing! Japan-guide.com, was so reliable in helping me prepare my trip to Japan. I am going to Japan again in the fall (second time this year) and will definitely be using the website again. I did however, felt like they were lacking in the visual aspect so them deciding to create a youtube channel is a great idea. I can't think of anyone more fitting for the job than you and your videography skills! Looking forward to more quality videos on both this channel and the japan-guide one.
Now " my Hokkaido" is a long way to go haha. Thanks for your detail information ! Nice video! I also love your photos on Instagram, very peaceful and beautiful ! (=^.^=)
Ohhhh man! I went to Japan in March last year. Saw the monkeys, stayed in a wonderful inn for the night in Nagano. I loved their neighborhood. We had udon at a restaurant and it was basically their house! Super awesome there. Highly recommend. I just found your channel Andrew but did you ever come across some awesome outdoor onsens? Or have you ever found a favorite?
Your videos are beautifully shot, narrated and edited! Definitely spreading word about your channel- you deserve so much! Also, your videos make me miss Japan very much. I hope to return in a few years, and hopefully live there for a little bit with my husband. Fingers crossed. Looking forward to more videos and seeing your channel grow!
Sad that I only discovered you now, but excited to binge watch all your videos and continuing to support you :D Amazingly edited videos! Give it time and I'll be looking back thinking, "Ah, I remember when he only had 12,000 subs."
Another amazingly well produced video mate - keep up the good work. It's only a matter of time before your beautifully produced videos get the exposure they deserve.
+Abroadin Japan Thanks Chris!
Ahhhhh it looks so amazing!! Sorry we couldn't join you both this time!!
And I totally would have said Naruto, too. And Guile omg :'D
+Rachel & Jun I admit, Guile was a bit of a stretch. No worries! I tried to edit around it, but as you probably saw the weather wasn't that great and there wasn't a lot of snow.
+Happy In Japan And that's the beauty and challenge of editing. :D Good job!!
Did anyone noticed how calm the monkeys were? some of them are like meditating in the hot water :) Its beautiful isn't it. It shows that they natural habitat has not touched by the Japanese. Much respect for the Japanese..
This guy needs more subs. Great, beautifully crafted video.

Didn't think I had the attention span to be able to watch a 13 minute video but I enjoyed every bit of it. Outstanding quality and great editing.
+Kyo Kojima Ha! I'm the same way when watching YT, so this comment means a lot to me. Thanks much!

My fav is the outdoor onsen on the southern tip of Yakushima seen in the beginning of my Japan by Bicycle video. So. amaze-balls.
Amazing video! So beautiful.
Thanks!
WOW! I'm hooked. Love the video.
The snow monkeys just relaxing and the other apes taking photos.
Your videos are beautifully shot, narrated and edited! Definitely spreading word about your channel- you deserve so much! Also, your videos make me miss Japan very much.
