I love these videos. It's clear that you aren't just a great filmmaker but also have a large amount of knowledge about Japan. I loved the documentary film 'Japan by Bicycle' and was surprised to hear that you moved back to Japan but also excited because the content you create is so wonderful. I wish there were more Japan loving foreigners like you in Japan. Looking forward to the content you continue to produce.
I would definitely want to visit a cat café . . . or even several cat cafes . . . or gee, maybe I could just go on a cat café pilgrimage and visit every one in Japan! Well, I do love cats! ^^ I also would love to visit a café where you could play dress-up! Beautiful video, as per usual! :)
holy shnikeys the production quality and editing is ridiculously awesome it's borderline discouraging please tell me you went to school for this and are not just that naturally talented?
+See Gritti lol, i did take one semester of video production and learned some basic editing principles. otherwise I spent most of my undergrad studying graphic design and photography.
+Happy In Japan welllll ya done did yer lerning good mister. not saying I'm jealous...or anything...anyway lol. would you mind if I shared what I've put together so far working on my vlog as I'm gearing up to move to Osaka in March?
+Adam Boehm Creations I hear there's an owl cafe and dog cafe in Tokyo as well. So if you're not a cat person, at least there's probably something for you.
I saw you in Rachel and Jun's channel and find ur video really educational and I love the cool animations! Subscribed(〃∇〃) I would like to visit this cafe since my apartment don't allow pets.
Gundam Cafe, oh wait that already exists. Purrr, how about a feudal Japan theme cafe. In the description box you say, "This is episode 6 of 6 in season 1 of Tour Japan."
You open one and I'll come everyday. That would be so cool, especially if you had stations where guests could play any of the FF games. Such an amazing idea.
***** there is one actually! in akihabara. i've never been to Tokyo so i don't know exactly where but i know there is one. would make for a cool video! :D
Just wondering, has your opinion changed since going here? There are WAY to many cats per squire room. Were there any places where they legit could hide, where humans could not reach?
+Aaron V It is completely RIGHT to be feline like you want more cat puns ^_^. These cats are pros, but there several cafes where the cats have been rescued and are up for adoption.
I feel many people benefit from having pets or interacting with them. It would be beneficial if it was easier for people to own pets in Japan and many other places. Cat cafés need to benefit cats too. I looked at their website and one trip review site and couldn't see the info I was looking for. It has an age restriction, no kids under 12 I believe, and all teens have to show their passports. In North America, cat cafés usually (all?) have adoptable rescued cats and work with animal shelters and rescue groups. No info about the origin of the Calico café cats is shown, at least not in English. I'd worry because they could be buying cats from unethical breeders. From other videos we know pet breeders and procurement in Japan doesn't appear to be well regulated in terns of animal welfare standards and consumer protection. If I were to visit a cat cafe, I'd want to support cats in need, not ones from a breeder. They appear to have a breed of cat there that is very controversial due to its deformities. More ethical cat associations don't recognize the short legged Munchkin as a breed because they are concerned over potential health and mobility issues. Several cat registries do not recognize the Munchkin: Fédération Internationale Féline, which refuses to recognise what they consider a breed based on a "genetic disease", achondroplasia. The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy likewise refuses to recognise the breed, considering this breed and others like it to be "unacceptable" because they are based on an "abnormal structure or development". An ideal cat café has areas where cats can go that are off limits to people. Based on information and evidence provided by educated cat vets, ethical breeders, owners and rescue groups, ideally cats need to be fed low carb food, canned if fresh raw is not available as they are obligate carnivores. Treats should also be limited, preferably meat, and each cat's weight monitored. Cats fed high carb food are prone to diabetes. Cats fed dry food are chronically dehydrated so at risk for painful and expensive urinary issues and kidney disease. These are things worth considering if caring for cats or visiting cat cafés.

There is always a happy looking cubby man sitting on the corner near the windows reading manga!

Great video.

+spoddie Thanks for the tip. Are my moving hands distracting?

Is it wrong that I wish there were even more cat puns? Are the cats available for adoption too? Or are they professional cafe cats?
+Aaron V It is completely RIGHT to be feline like you want more cat puns ^_^. These cats are pros, but there several cafes where the cats have been rescued and are up for adoption.
