The avocado tree is small but it produces quite a lot of fruit, I always watch videos from Johnny's World - Backyard Orchard & Gardening, try to show his face once in a while, not just his voice, so that it is more familiar, thank you, my friend.
Such a great tree! Thanks for sharing. In my opinion one of the best all around avocado trees. I harvested one in May and it wasn’t very good, then a couple in June and they were OK, but it wasn’t till July that they started to reach full potential. Fingers crossed they all stick and there’s no fruit drop!
Hi Ivan: nice to hear from you and hope you are doing well! Thank you for sharing your experience on your Reed! Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
Hi Johnny, similarly I’ve got around 20 varieties, in similar conditions and stages of growth, and I’m impressed with a couple of my Reeds the most. I had similar excitement noticing up to 12 fruits that have a good chance of making it. In contrast, I have some very well draining soil. I give them ample amounts of water. In this substantial heat we’re getting in So. California right now, I will be watering them about 5 times in 2 weeks or 14 days. I have jungle conditions which looks similar to yours. Let’s hope that they all come to fruition. A local nurseryman was gifted some Reeds in June and they were clearly too early. I expect mine to be ready in August of 2025.
Hi Neal: Wow, you have a lot of varieties as well, very cool! Thank you for sharing your experience with your Reeds, hope all of your fruit hangs on! Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching Neal!
Nice reed tree, i have a hass tree with a grafted branch of reed with 5 reed fruit. Im in zone 10a in Ontario Ca. That tree looks really healthy. What are you located in?
Hi Manny: I am in LA County near Pasadena area. That's cool that you have a multigrafted avocado tree. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching!
I was under the impression that spiders were good for avocado trees as they might take care of pests that actually feed on the tree (mites, aphids, etc.)?
You just can't go wrong with a Reed! Thanks for sharing Johnny!

Beautiful Reed🤩How much and how often do you water since planting in cactus mix?
During the summers, I water them about 3 times a week but other times about twice a week. Thank you of your comment and thank you for watching!
