Matts cafe rides are so natural and so enjoyable, its great to see these top riders so relaxed away from the stress of competing, welldone and thank you Sigma.
I think it has a lot to do with the out of this planet ride he did that Giro. It was really impressive. Then to see him blow and what Chris Froome achieved. It was an Giro to remember.
Watching 4 years later and appreciating this content! Adam is from the same town as me, and it’s amazing to see someone local do so well for himself. Super domestique now at UAE. Could he GC at Vuelta in 2024?
So is Matt. Saw him last weekend interviewing people at the Rouleur Classic event and his demeanour is that he makes them feel comfortable and relaxed and so they become chatty. Its great that he has reconnected with and is contributing to cycling in a positive way after being out of it for so long.
The effortlessness with which Simon climbs at Matt's pace is amazing. Simon's out of the saddle and not even breathing hard. Matt's in a smaller gear, gasping to talk, pushing the crank like he's Froome.
Simon makes the climbing look so damn easy, Matt did an excellent job keeping up!!! Trying to speak and climb is NOT an easy task... after the first 5 minutes into the climb, I personally would have started using sign language to Simon just to try and breath right! Sigma Sports rocks!!!
What is SO nice about these Cafe videos is that we "connect" with the riders' so much more when we watch them in races - many thanks and congratulations, Matt!
@@danteintx7621 This was filmed during Mitchelton-Scott's team camp. The camp for both the men and women's teams was held at the Australian Institute of Sport's European High Performance Centre which is located at Varese. This centre supports European based Australian elite athletes and teams.
I miss seeing Matt on GCN; but am thrilled to see videos like this, thank you Sigma Sports! Also gotta say it was nice seeing my #1 and 2 dream bikes in the same video. Sometime in 2020 I hope to pick up the Scott Addict (1) or Cannondale SuperSix (2). Excellent video, so well done.
Ok I need to say I really am a big Matt fan or should that be fan of Matt. He is made to do this as he gets the best out of his interviewees by just being himself. Great to hear Simon say why he took up the sport and him and his brother are top guys. I have yet to watch a Matt video for more than a few minutes before I am smiling. Looking forward to the next one.
Great video guys, i hope to see Simon next year at the Giro: it will be your time. PS: in Varese we have great landscapes and a great beer. Next time one is for you Matt: you deserve it after a Campo dei Fiori👍
Another great cafe ride video. Cracking idea and always look forward to a new episode. And that's the beauty of our sport, you can ride the same roads as your heroes, albeit a bit slower
only Matt would turn up with the wrong kit.... another awesome vid. we definitely need a ride with Alberto as the rapport between these two is excellent
That's still my favorite Giro. Simon was brilliant ! I can never remember who actually won it. "Was it Froome?, Was it Dumoulin?" All I ever remember is Simon !😂
Thank you for the great video! Excellent content from start to finish. Heavier Tiagra on a winter bike makes fitness sense, ya? And the hotel reality is something many gt riders would hesitate to mention for various reasons. I got the impression Simon has a bit of northern in'em, willing to do whatever it takes, to get the gains. Just curios, was it Tiagra full group, and what wheels did he have on?
Matts cafe rides are so natural and so enjoyable, its great to see these top riders so relaxed away from the stress of competing, welldone and thank you Sigma.
Matt is one of the best most natural interviewers out there and he managed to clip in first time :-)
When you win la Vuelta but everyone just talk about you bonking at the Giro 😂
Love your Cafe rides Matt, and yeah ‘ Simon is a star too. Thank you.
I think it has a lot to do with the out of this planet ride he did that Giro. It was really impressive. Then to see him blow and what Chris Froome achieved. It was an Giro to remember.
Lmao so true😂🤣😅

Adam is with UAE, Simon is with Jayco.
this is exciting! One of the nicest guy in the cycling world and Simon Yates
Helen G. Pitts thanks Helen looks cool
Simon Yates is so chilled and relaxed. Great guy.

Is Matt Stephens easily the best cycling journo today?
It makes my day when I get a notification about a Café Ride. And Simon Yates has the KOM on the nearest climb to my house.
Which one's that Robert?
Matt “I think I’ve got the bends!” 😂😂😂
The best cycle related saying ever. That is one for my back pocket....
What does that mean? I wanna laugh!
Brilliant film. GCN lost its lustre when Matt left and now it’s Sigma publishing engaging and informative content. Superb.
The effortlessness with which Simon climbs at Matt's pace is amazing. Simon's out of the saddle and not even breathing hard. Matt's in a smaller gear, gasping to talk, pushing the crank like he's Froome.
Hands down the best series on UA-cam.
Thanks Ian, glad you like them!
Two of the nicest guys in cycling, what more can one ask for.
Matt Stephens is the best!! Great video with Mr. Yates. A true gentleman.
What a lad! Stay humble Yatsey you are an inspiration to many!
Luke Cachia well said!
Matt Stephens is the man! One of the best cycling presenters around, keep it up!
He's a legend, right?
Very humble and doesn't need to blow his own trumpet. Bravo Simon . I will continue cheering you on .
Great video! Thanks. Popped in the store at the weekend and was served by Geoff. What a lovely chap.
What is SO nice about these Cafe videos is that we "connect" with the riders' so much more when we watch them in races - many thanks and congratulations, Matt!
Thank you for the beautiful cafe ride video. Simon Yates is first class. Matt, as usual, is charming and fun to watch. Love the sound track.
Best series on youtube
I look forward to these cafe rides with Matt, crew, & guests. Beautiful countryside vistas, bon café, & good company. Cheers!
Gavirate, Sacro Monte and Campo dei Fiori. Superb locations! Loving it.

Varese! right in the middle of the italian lakes region, what a beautiful place to ride your bike!! great episode Matt.
I thought Simon used to live in andorra
@@danteintx7621 I don't know if he did or does, that climb they're riding though, surely is Sacromonte di Varese.

Class video. Cant beat watching a cafe ride and was great to watch simon as well.
Excellent series, I’m definitely going to be using the “I’ve got the bends” line on my next tough climb 😂

Another cracking video, also nice roads. It makes me want to do a climb tomorrow. cheers.
Absolutely love these! It's give us a different look at the pro's and Matt's commentary is always spot on:) Well done!!
Thanks Brian!
‘... I’ve gone all dizzy!’ 🤣🤪😆 we love you Matt!
"I'm a cyclist and I live in the Pennines" and I too make cafe stop cycling videos. These are well polished though by Matt and the team.
Riding the CAAD! Love it! 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Cinematography and sound has improved so much in the last year.
Good job, fun video.
Thanks Jim!
"I think I have the bends". I know the feeling!
Excellent interview....really great rider 😀
So refreshing these vids keep um coming Matt fantastic watch.
The half-hearted humor of "I got a little dizzy" is classic Matt.
A good episode. Both Yates brothers come across as very grounded and nice humans. How about a Lachlan Morton cafe ride Sigma Sports?
Another good interview and informative.
Just superb content again.
Cheers David!
Keep making videos, Matt!
Another great one, many thanks
Thanks Matt!
Simon occasionally has a very slight Australian twang, that he must have picked up from his team. :)
I noticed that too...on "riders" and "climb" particularly 😃
Another great cafe ride video. Cracking idea and always look forward to a new episode. And that's the beauty of our sport, you can ride the same roads as your heroes, albeit a bit slower
Another great video and interview!
Love these videos
One thing Matt has it right.
That's gonna be completely different year.😂
Matt I miss you in the GCN videos, but I enjoy watching some of these coffee rides!
Really happy to see this episode in my city having coffee at the pasticceria i have been going to since I was small. Great fan of you guys 👍
Thanks, Jorge! Great to get your thoughts.
Nice video. Yates has picked up the upward inflection at the end of his sentences - an Aussie trait!
only Matt would turn up with the wrong kit.... another awesome vid. we definitely need a ride with Alberto as the rapport between these two is excellent
These roads are buttery smooth 😍😍
WOW! You were in Varese, my home town! It was beautiful see you riding on my home streets and climbing Campo dei Fiori!!!

That's still my favorite Giro. Simon was brilliant ! I can never remember who actually won it. "Was it Froome?, Was it Dumoulin?" All I ever remember is Simon !😂
Matt FINALLY gets to ride in nice weather and he doesn't pack the proper top! 🤣
"I think I've got the Bends!" LMAO 🤙
16:18 I've seen said young man descending a fair few times racing and the odd occasion on the Cat & Fiddle, I can assure you he doesn't need escorting
Love these, just brilliant
Great video, classic Matt getting lost on the way (up?) a hill ?! ;-)
I still remember those two weeks in the Giro. Nobody could touch him. He was at another level.
great short there.......fantastic music too, anyone know who that is?
can you tell me the song that is being played when the are cycling? Around the 11:45 minute?
Anyone know the song at 5:10?
What’s the tune at 11:51 no recognition by Shazam ..?
