Queen Elizabeth I, was the firstborn child of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. Henry VIII split the country from the Catholic church, so he could marry Ann Boleyn and produce a male heir to the throne. After Ann Boleyn was beheaded, Elizabeth was outcast from the royal family. After Edward VI and Mary I (Queen of Scots) died, Elizabeth I became queen in 1558.
