I will be more involved in my website soon and I'm looking forward to sharing new UA-cam VIDEOS and writing BLOG's and of course everyone's favourite THE GEAR :)
I think it looks great Simon. Can’t beat a good night out. Thanks for sharing a great video.
Thanks a lot Shane, I really appreciate that coming from you buddy👍😃 It feels like every night in a hot tent is a good night which is good because we have some long Winters over here 😊✌️
Looks like a winner! Enough room without being excessive. The more space needed to heat, the more wood needed.
Absolutely!😃 Thanks for watching and commenting Annette 👍😊
After my friend got me hyped for this tent i snagged on and their stove... i'm so excited!
Nice one Danny, yep it's a great stove, I've used mine for two winter seasons here in Finland, really low temps, and it performs great!
Hi Simon, oh yes that looks very comfortable my friend, way to be special under such conditions, take care, Taro
Hi Taro thanks buddy, yes it was so nice to be warm inside a tent for a change ha ha. All the best to you my friend
Hi ! Thank you for the video ! the tent looks great , I think I need one for mountain hikes and a light titanium stove ! Greetings from Siberia !
My pleasure and "Hello" to Siberia👍😊 Thank you for watching and commenting my friend😊
Cool. I am also interested in this tent. Thanks :)
Thanks for watching buddy :)
Nice setup !
Thanks Paul👍😊
I just got mine with the winter insert, the insert is honestly useless unless your camping in heaving snow storms, it also cuts your space by half, I think when going forward I’ll use a ground sheet and my stove and I’ll be fine.
So exited, I bought the Luxe Minipeak XL and is supposed to be arriving to our door any minute ! A lot of my decision to get this tent has a lot to do with your videos ! Thanks my friend !
Oh man that's really awesome😃 I'm excited for you too, and I hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks a lot for that comment my friend and I'll look forward to your upcoming Minipeak vids👍😁
@@AnEnglishmaninFinland1 You betcha ! Cheers
Looks a great little setup nice amount of space to live and the inner. Spark is annoying to have gone thru, and the Jack is a bit disappointing looks quite chaffed already. Still great setup cosy looking for cold nights.👍
Hi Ollie yep it's pretty cosy, and like you say, it has a good amount of space to hang out and sleep in. I bet the spark hole initiation wont be the last, maybe I have to buy a patch kit ha ha. I'm hoping to pick up a new stove soon, it was either that or a new stove Jack, I felt a stove was a better option😂👍 Thanks buddy as always😊👍
Are you making a mini sauna? That stove is huge for a little tent
Forgot to mention love the fish fingers been ages since I had these 🙂🙏
From what I've heard from others, the customer service is fantastic, they will replace the stove jack and send you a patch for the hole.
Thankfully I have a repair kit, and the stove Jack is working just fine, just not very pretty to look at 😊👍
I'm going to buy this shelter
Awesome :)
Thanks for the video! Do you think there is enough room for 2 people with chairs to hang out? Looks like there is.
It depends on the people's size really, the center of the Tepee is only 160cm, it would be tight for 2 people with low chairs like a Helinox but possible.
I thought for one moment you brought out a huge pair of chop sticks then saw your genius idea of using them as a support for the plate of hot food....
Ha ha😂 Thanks buddy🙏😊
Can you fit two people with the stove?
Great video! What is the brand of fry pan you have there? Cheers!
Thanks Paul much appreciated mate😊👍 Yeah the frying pan is made by Trangia, a great little pan that doesn't take up too much space because the handle folds inwards
@@AnEnglishmaninFinland1 thanks, hows the tent been for you? I am thinking of getting one, the company has alot of bad reviews from their US online store which I found was worrying. Awesome explanation of the tent in your vid, new sub here!
Hey Simon! Is that land on the platform lifted up against the wall of the tent so as to not be drawn on the side where the air inside the tent sleep? You mentioned that the inner tent can sleep two. Will Kaisa ever camp with you in these videos? You make great videos, hoping for very warm and very relaxed tent trips in the winter.
Hiya Sami I'm a little bit confused of the first question, sorry😕, but I can answer the other, and that is..'maybe' ha ha. She went canoe camping with me during the Summer, so there is always a possibility she will go again, I think she should!! 👍😁
@@AnEnglishmaninFinland1 I meant that can that ground coat be raised against the wall of the tent inside for wind protection if the indoor tent is not used? There is a pretty big gap between the tent and the ground when the inner tent is not in place. 🤔 I agree that she should be a little camp in the winter with you. ☺👍
Yes it could, but because it's actually a hammock tarp it's really thin and I think it won't cover the gap very well, that's why I used the inner tent, but I know what you mean, I have been planning on getting a stiffer ground tarp and doing what you said, and not using the inner tent at all 👍😊 I also have a fireproof mat coming, for under the stove. Hopefully I get out again soon and use these ideas👍
Hi, isn't wind coming trough under the tent since there's no skirt? Thanks
Hi Sung Lee, yes the wind can come through under the tent, but it wasn't a particular windy night on this occasion. You can pitch the tent a lower if you wish and seal off any gaps if it's really windy and taking your heat from inside the tent. When i have a wood stove inside i like to have a gap so air can flow in and out and i don't have to worry about carbon monoxide build up. Thanks for watching buddy and thanks for commenting :) Simon
What model of Timberland boots with liners are they..?
They're not Timberland's bud, these are cheapish €50 winter boots that i buy every year, sometimes one pair will last two years but very rarely. They have a liner inside and keep my feet warm down to -30c with extra sole cushioning. The name of the boots are Polar Mate plus. I definitely recommend if you can get em where you are
What tarps have you got under the inner net and around the stove ?
I have two ddHammock tarps 3x3m but I would advice against it. The reason I put these down is because I had nothing else I could use, and it was very muddy. The tarps was good for ground cover but they did absorb moisture from the ground and by morning they was soaked. In my next video I use a more appropriate ground tarp
Do you think this tent would be big enough for 2 people plus a stove?
Hi Derek, it's really hard for me too say, maybe it would if you were small like me, but even then there wouldn't be much room to move around, and of course stove safety is a must. I would consider a larger size for two people, it would make camp life more enjoyable 👍😊Thank you for watching and again for your question 👍
Did the tent come with the inner wall and floor?
Hi there, from what I can remember you can buy the minipeak XL with or without the inner tent
Great video Simon. Did you have to seam seal the tent ? Cheers
Thank you Cyril😊 Unfortunately I didn't, I had it in some good downpours and it did leak from some of the inside loops that was stitch-in to hold the inner tent. A few drop here and there but nothing major
What tent pole did you use?
Luxe outdoor Alloy tarp pole 110-163cm.
nice looking tent and seems easy enougj to put up BUT the finish on the stove jack looks dissapointing
Yeah this is probably my fault, i did run a rusty stove pipe through there and we had some windy days, i think maybe there was some abrasion from that. Although this being my first tent with a stove jack i'm not too sure how robust they should or could be.
@@AnEnglishmaninFinland1 interesting question a good one to ask in the group
do you have a Patreon so we can donate money to you? that stove is large and heavy AF. We want to give you money to get a Pomoly mini.
@d diver Unfortunately i don't have a Patreon, but thank you very kindly for the generous offer😊. Actually since that video i have upgraded my stove, to a Winnerwell Nomad, it's not as heavy as the old Finnish sauna stove thank god, and it looks a lot lot better too👍😊😊
