@@brijeshsingh8460 This movie is very unrealistic tsunami wise. San Andreas is too far inland and the wrong kind of fault (slip strike) to cause a tsunami. the scene after this part must've really hit rock's character hard, after saving all of those people at the side of the stadium only to lose them to the tsunami that came afterwards.
Earthquakes are usually caused when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake. When two blocks of rock or two plates are rubbing against each other, they stick a little. They don't just slide smoothly; the rocks catch on each other. The rocks are still pushing against each other, but not moving. After a while, the rocks break because of all the pressure that's built up. When the rocks break, the earthquake occurs. During the earthquake and afterward, the plates or blocks of rock start moving, and they continue to move until they get stuck again. The spot underground where the rock breaks is called the focus of the earthquake. The place right above the focus (on top of the ground) is called the epicenter of the earthquake.

In fact, IDK if it ever happened on cameral, or at all. Moving feet down and up would almost be like a roller coaster imo. Imo, if the ground were to wave like that, I'd honestly would rate the quake like a 12, cause of how violent it is.
A 7.9 and 9.6 are INSANLY different in intensity though, as the Richter scale is logorythmic
@@VeiTheOne There is filmed footage of the 1964 Anchorage Alaska earthquake that shows this very phenomenon. The street rolls up and down like a moving snake. That was magnitude 9.2.
@@tbd-1 there a clip of that on YT somewhere?
@@VeiTheOne Probably. Never looked for it here.

I like the section of this videos description. As if this movie is a perfect representation of what would happen. 2012 is still better. 🔥

No i believe thats literally how earthquakes look from far away..up close on the ground we feel shaking but from far..we can see its like ripples in water causing a land wave
