I was in the FFA kvk recently and even in that Kvk, against the big whales of 1846, a maxed Richard Alex with good gear (gold and purple) still trades very positively, even against Atilla Takeda. It is only afraid of archer marches like Rams and Nebu but when facing any other Infantry and Cav marches (Guan/anything, AT, ), it will have no problem. Also it can be played in two ways: either be a tank for your team and just push forward and get focused so the murder ball can go forward, or hide in the middle of the ball and be like a budget Attila Takeda sending tons of enemy troops into the hospital. The hospital bill is actually not higher because for the same amount of kills, other marches have to refresh 3 times while you only need 1. And if you do get focused down by archers you don't have a chance to heal much anyway.
@@eridan565 I guess if you equip him with good equipment, a lot of defense stat it would be ok. Maxed is better also because the expertise has the slow and will chase down low hp cav march very well. But Aethefled support skill work very nicely with Rc Alex and give some extra slow. When I have a lot of rss (early on kvk), in my 3 marches I do not use Richard in favor of more AoE pairings. But when I'm low on rss and speed up and can't afford 3 marches on the field & looking for efficient trades and have a lot of time, I would do one Rc Alex + extensions and all the best gear on him.
I think Richard is amazing I can't understand why everybody says he sucks I played 5 KvKs with only 1 march and it was Alex/Richard and made 92M kills before reaching t5 I got amazing trades and it's still my favorite march with Alex/Harald
@@diegofernandez3230 actually the healing is no problem at all If you don't get focussed it's amazing and if you get focussed you're mostly too fast dead to get worse trades because of the healing

Gotta refer also that pairings and trees, are also dependent on your equipment, you can use CJ but only if you have complete legendary equipment like you, otherwise you get melted, so Based on the equipment you have available, you should tweak your tree and pair for more tankiness (Leo) or more damage (Alex\CJ). Thats my experience.

guan alex the best all the way, never rlly beaten by any other march(except probably guan/leo), but other than that they basically the most widely used inf march. (im an inf main) Edit: guys i didn't say that guan/leo sucked, im saying that they beat guan/alex but guan/alex is a lil bit more widely used compared to guan/leo ovrall as leonidas is obtained from mge, and quite a lot of people(especially f2p) may not be able to get him and use him on the open field.

They really need to work on old commanders like richard,el cid '..They are just useless at higher stages of kvks.Low damage or no skıll damage.Only tanking and make u get big hospital bılls.
El-cid is useful in HA because you need his 4th skill for support skill. Really strong skill must have for ralliers. Richard is still very strong if you have him maxed and equip him with good gear. Richard Alex is still the strongest pair 1v1 in the game against Infantry and Cav. He only need to avoid archer especially Rams.
No richard is not useless even in imperium kvk. You just did not use him right. Max him, give him best equipment and pair with alex. Rc alex still one of the strongest 1v1 in the game until now

well basically shadow legion will spam rally after rally. If u use martel to debuff enemy it will prolong the battle and increase chance the next rally will join swarming your city which is bad. For shadow legion better skill spammer for quicker kill
Best inf civ? I’m thinking of switching from time as I’ve never changed and with kvk around the corner France looks pretty nice for the health and healing speed

leo better with guan over guan/pakal? I never got the leo and was waiting ages to finally maybe get anotehr defence infantry commander to put behind guan. Still leo over pakal? To punish people who fokus you.
Imo then France is the best for infantry, the 3% health is great and it count towards all your units so it doesnt limit you to infantry. It also makes a huge difference if your city gets attacked, 3% health to all troops beats 3% counter attack any day. I have tried alot of the civilizations, including Rome and vikings and France are miles better.

Very late reply and you might not need it anymore but i would say Martel, because he will last you much longer. Richard will get old in the field fast because of all the commanders that takes away his healing buffs, while Martel will always be a very good garrison/field commander.

I don't know. Maybe it's not all about hospital trades but marches that can quickly reducing enemy field present so that your murder ball win ? AT marches type give very good trades and kills but they don't take out marches as fast as some other AoE marches. So if you're a whale you should bring marches that can quickly reduce the size of enemy balls instead of concerning with trades. Trades is for rally. Op is about field presence.

I think it should be Richard Ae, CM YSG. The synergy make more sense that way. YSG pairing behind Richard after kvk2 is a waste. Richard slow will boost Ae damage by 20%. CM boost YSG skill by another 30%.

And when taking equipment into account, it's not easy for a low spenders to have 3 full talented purple equipment with accessories. So 3 is fine, but should be maxed commanders with special talent purple or some gold if possible.
