To fix the switching to aux problem, you can set one of the radio memory buttons to aux, just select aux input and press and hold the memory button you want to program to it.

I would like to get it, but for Wi-Fi carplay for my wifey E92 2007 CCC. Could you say more how this work for such use case? What are downsides? Is it able to set to auto-connect then forget and use? I woulud like to set in a way: she is entering the car, carplay starts and connect automatically - is it possible here?
Are you able to download apps form the play store onto the head unit? I was thinking the jb4 app would be amazing, like that you could control a jb4 directly from the head unit.
I think I explained in the video that it would jump a bit. Bit that wasn’t really a big issue. What really annoyed me (which I didn’t say because I didn’t realize it at the time) was that there was no way to jump quickly to other sections. For example when scrolling through artists there was no quick way to jump through the alphabet like you could in a better device. Using the joystick didn’t work all that well because you had to endlessly scroll and if the list was long you had to scroll for ever.
I got the "Aiocoai BMW E60 CCC CarPlay" unit on Aliexpress. Search for it, it should you the exact result. I didn't post the link in the description because I'm not endorsing them and don't want to look like I'm endorsing them.
your firmware version newest version? or old version? if you have old version, it can be upgraded and some problem be solved by new firmware file conntect your seller~

All those problems you can set in the settings. The knob and set aux to manual. And the screen resoltion you can set in the factory settings

Change aux to manual not auto in setting, then no carplay sound in original unit will be Ok ^^

that I won't know, but if you do it please let me know. we have sold that car and don't have access to experiment with that unit :(
How did you get your WiFi to work..... also was your Bluetooth built in to the unit?
You have to enable the WiFi option and add carplay to work. and BT is built in the unit.
