I agree. What a fantastic group! Sure wish David Pack would come mahe an appearance with them again. These groups from the past are still timeless. Their talent is unmatched. I'm a classic rock person along with other genres. 🎹🎶👍👍💕
Me too Kenny. It's addicting. I'm still listening to this song literally every day! I'm 66.🤗. But for me this song belongs to Dave Pack. Joe is great but it's just not the same without Dave. His voice is irreplaceable. And so was his guitar playing.
Joe Pueta is a gentleman. We talked about the bass--of which he is a master as seen in the above version--between sets at a long-forgotten club in Anaheim, Calif. Puerta bemoaned his "short" fingers, It didn't interfere with his incredible songwriting skills, however, and his vocals complemented those of the incomparable David Pack.
The 70s thru mid 80s was the best music. There was a few years I don't remember real well, but I know I was having a good time. Listening to these songs though brings back a lot of good memories.
I just heard this song on a local radio station in my car a few minutes ago. I was pretty sure it sounded like Ambrosia and got online to try and find it. Alas, I was not disappointed. This song came out when I was 11 years old and today I am 60. I miss the 70s and the great music from those years.
So much about this band reminds me of another band out of the Twin Cities called Gypsy. They played at the college I attended in the 1970s, and I was struck by just how much they sounded EXACTLY like their studio recordings during a live performance. BOTH bands' music is timeless and oh, so wonderful.
David PACK . I love him. But he left. He’s one fourth of the band. The other three have the right to carry on without him and do it very well. Do I miss him not being in the band anymore? Sure. But life goes on.
I understand they split b/c the group did gigs w/o David but they were using his name, they had a lousy contract, & Joe doesn't want to reconcile. But David IS Ambrosia. He does those songs effortlessly- (he wrote them) when he occasionally does concerts but is mostly producing music for other artists. Still has a great voice.
I don’t understand how they could use his name without his permission? That is a crappy thing to do. David’s voice and good looks were Ambrosia. Now I do think the others in the group are extremely talented.
@@LUCKYIRISHLADY77 I read the whole story on David's webpage. & I disagree about the others being all that talented. Yes, crappy. David made the group, & was always the spokesperson, Joe, who in my opinion is a David wannabe, is now the spokesperson & claims to not want to get back together.
@@LisaGemini Yeah, I think it is jealousy on Joe's end. But David is the bigger man. David did a 70th birthday video on FB & said he has asked Joe if they wanted to do a reunion concert but he won't comply. David just lost his wife in February & they have a son, so he may not be ready to do anything for awhile.
_Real musicians?_ Damn, I thought there was none left with all the "vjay & djay" fakes nowadays! Oh and computer music, what a joke! This is music folks, real music!
This is a David Pack lead vocal song. Joe Puerta CANNOT carry David Pack's vocals. They need to find somebody that sounds like David Pack or bring David Pack back. They are crucifying this song. It SUCKS without David Pack.
+BAMATDI1 - this was the line-up in 2012. They have a new lead now.. and Joe & the rest of the band have always done vocals on this & all their sonds !
Try listening to nice nice, mama frog, drink of water.. etc.. Joe sang the more progressive songs.. David sang the fluffy hits.. not taking away from DP.. but Joe sang alot , maybe a third of the songs.. get over DP.. he left..
Possibly the best version of “ holding on to yesterday” I’ve heard. Every individual effort crushed it. Thank you Ambrosia for who you are and what you keep doing all these years. Inspired always!
This is such an addictive tune.....trippy. I am so drawn to it as it captures that deep down pain of loneliness. Yesterday is gone.
40 years later, this song still sends chills down my spine!
I agree. What a fantastic group! Sure wish David Pack would come mahe an appearance with them again. These groups from the past are still timeless. Their talent is unmatched. I'm a classic rock person along with other genres. 🎹🎶👍👍💕

Underrated song for sure
I love this group! One of the great bands of the 70's.

One of top 10 songs from 1970s. And I've heard all 70s music.

Ambrosia fills my heart and makes me smile❣️
wow !! one of my favorite AMBROSIA songs .
The 70s thru mid 80s was the best music. There was a few years I don't remember real well, but I know I was having a good time. Listening to these songs though brings back a lot of good memories.
Im 67 years old and I remember diving my 69 chevelle and jaming to this on on a Saturday night
I was 11 in 1976. I heard this song on a friends album. It never got much air time in my small town radio air waves. WLS was main stream top 40.
Sounds like a good plan I’ll take my 71 judge do same thing ✌️
'65 Barracuda, for me (also 67 years old)
I love Ambrosia. I 😍 love their music 🎶.

Hey, I love Ambrosia always have always will. Still sound great, look great. Thanks for the memories...takes me back to the 70s.
Wow what an epic song !! I brings back memories when I was younger, I always loved this song !!
Sounds great..tho I miss David Pack on leads..Joe P. is doing a nice job of it 🙂🙂💕💕
アンブローシアは80年代のウエストコーストサウンドでAORの1種と思っていましたが全然違って素晴らしいクロスオーバー系グループでした🎵最近知りました😮凄く良いですね👍

I saw them last month in Reno, NV. If they're playing near you, don't miss the opportunity.
Good job Joe P, I like your voice👍
Great song…..great band
Beautiful
I saw them perform this song last week and they still sound great. Thanks for sharing this version.
How can they be called Ambrosia without David Peck?
David PACK . I love him. But he left. He’s one fourth of the band. The other three have the right to carry on without him and do it very well. Do I miss him not being in the band anymore? Sure. But life goes on.
One of my favorite bands just KILLING one of my favorite songs. These guys are BAD!!!
Sorry you feel that way. I guess it's in the ear of the listener.
Yes they are they frinkin jam I’d give my right arm to see them in concert I love this song
Such a classic song
Excellent musicianship
Yes
I didn't want it to stop
Bravo Joe!
The bass nails it! 🧘♀
Great skills.
I bought this 45 single when I was 11
Real musicians!!
This just ain't the same without David Pack. What happened to him?

@@susansavard3531 Ugh, that’s a shame they don’t get along. I hope they reconcile. Too much jealousy ruins everything!

sounds pretty good to me
😵🕵 super song 😍💔
Chris North RULES !!!!
That's funky💯🔥
They still sound great even without David pack
Due playing the Hammond XK-1 does a great job considering he is missing a few digits on his left hand.
_Real musicians?_ Damn, I thought there was none left with all the "vjay & djay" fakes nowadays! Oh and computer music, what a joke! This is music folks, real music!
Shout out to Alan Parsons for this great project 👏👏👏
What a great song and video. Today is December 9'th, 2020.
No Dave Pack?
Nobody should see ing the lead in this song but David Pack. It just shouldn't be done. This is Dave's song!
Miss him in Ambrosia
😮
Just a awesome performance
Everyone please read Matthew 25:31~46 and obey it, our eternal destiny depends upon our obedience or disobedience to this scripture. 🕊🌱🐟🦋
I can’t listen this song once.
Yeh
bien con el hammond ambrosia
Lastima, la verdadera voz, no es ya, el grupo Ambrosia.
Awesome job without Dave
That isn't David Pack. Its not the same. Disappointed!

David Peck is great but Ambrosia still hits it
Great song.thanks 😊 🙏 😊 🙏
not bad, but it sounds like a cover band is performing without David Pack.
