Possibly my favourite game so far. It makes you feel like a boss, no motion sickness because of the rails, and I was surprised how tiring it was to play. It's a workout.
Me too! Whenever I have anyone try the system, I always load up Pistol Whip for them to play. During the playtime they all have a blast and a few hours later they complain their legs are on fire from the workout haha
I’m new to quest and found the shooters to be a lot of messing around with the belt and manual reloading. Discovered this game and it’s so enjoyable. I played it at 2am for an hour straight and went to bed drenched 😂
My question is should I purchase it on meta store for quest 3? I already own it on steam and I played it through steam-link wirelessly, it is ok but the resolution is just not great. Not sure how good it is natively on quest 3.
I have only played natively on the Quest 3 and it runs and plays very smoothly! No hiccups or frame drops and crisp visuals. It's the App that I get all my friends to try when experiencing VR and nobody has ever complained. The Meta Store also has an awesome return policy, so if you buy it and it's not what you expected. You can return it! But I'm 90% sure that Stream Linking is what is causing your problems.
@dbawner Thanks for your suggestion, and I actually found out that Pistol Whip offered a 20-minute trial. Here is the result on my quest 3. The PC version through steamlink is buggy above 200% resolution, but at 200% resolution, it is way more clear than native version. I have no lagging issue, thanks to my router. The only downside so far is some pixelized visual flaw when too many enemies are rendered at the same scene. Also tried Ragnarock. Similarly, the PC version offers way better graphics and looks like a next generation game.
They had a Quest 3 update in October, which improved visuals, increased the resolution and added support for 90 Hz. I didn't specifically test to confirm, but it feels smooth and looks good!
@@dbawnerI was still deciding between buying the Steam version or Quest version since Steam/PCVR is always better graphically and better performance compared to standalone Quest 3, just bought the Quest version, will try later.
With how much support and updates the game has received over the years (even free updates continuing into 2024) I think it's important to support good developers with your wallet! I'd rather buy this game 5 times over then pay for any Tripple A, live service, incomplete, mincro-transaction filled, nonsense that is being force-fed to us on a yearly basis through the more mainstream systems ... but that's just me ... sails those seas as you see fit my friend 🏴☠️
