There is a lot to learn about the Air 180. First, back in 1991 it wasn't part of the Air Max line up, mainly because they did not share the same air bubble. Then Nike called the retro version of this shoe 'Air Max 180' because it used an Air Max air bubble under the heel. That's why it has always been way, way to small for this shoe and that's why the previous retro's just don't look right. The proportions of the initial design were just screwed up by that tiny air bubble. Also, the construction was different with the previous retros as well. The outsole was just glued onto the air bubble and that was it. With this 2024 retro they pretty much rook the design and tooling from the OG. That featured a translucent but hard outer shell around the air bubble. Supposedly to give your feet some more stability with such a gigantic air bubble. Otherwise you would've snapped your ankles! So that's the reason they're calling it 'Air 180' again. It's a more true-retro than ever before. FYI this particular colorway is also named 'Full 180': if you take the Ultramarine CW and invert the colors, you get what you have in your hands. Pretty cool IMO!
Quick bit if history, the 180 design was scrapped after avia took nike to court claiming the 180 sole copied their cantilever sole design, avia actually won and nike wernt allowed to make them for at least 10 years hence when the retro came back in 2005 they looked very different as the original blueprints had to be destroyed as well
i get why they changed the bubble. the older ones squeaked badly after a few months. i have two pairs of box fresh ultra marines from 2014? and 2018. i was really hoping to get a pair this time round so i could actually wear some again but they sold out quick!. might have to settle for these instead.
It looks uncomfortable. It's out dated technology. No wonder Nike stock has plummeted and they are replacing CEO. They have been milking air bubble tech over a decade now, we need new tech!!!

Lowk this colorway is best of the three. The black goes harder than the white on the other two paits
