I’m willing to bet you would benefit from a Facebook group where people of like minds could join and converse. It’s really easy to create a group and sometimes they can take off. With these head gasket jobs you teaching us a lot of information, not just a head gasket repair. With this much to offer I’d love to see a group page of you guys!

My pressure tank was low on coolant. Needles to say cylinder 1&2 plugs were wet and lean. 3&4 looked good. Time to take the head off 😢. Thank you for your video.
Hi, if the engine HG goes bad and piston rod has said hello to a daylight could a different/better engine fit a existing model?
For example would a 3rz fit in 2rz place? Or maybe some parts could be swapped from other engines to improve reliability?...
Do you guys ever deal with the GDI 2006 GS300s? Mine has a cylinder 4 misfire on cold startup, but clears up once it reaches operating temp

Doing coils and plugs on a 13’ Prius today. Customer symptoms are basically the same, upon some cold starts there’s a misfire on cylinder two, occasionally happens when driving. Possibly the head gasket? I understand they swell to fill gaps when the engine heats and sometimes problems aren’t seen until certain heats or whatnot

how to diagnose a blow head gasket? a leak down test would tell me if the gasket is blown? thanks 👍
We have the same sounds coming from a 2012 pruis scan said it was the coils we swapped them put same issue I'm assuming it's the head gasket do you have a shop close to burlingame California how much does this normally cost to fix and is it worth it thank you for your time
hi my prius 2009 has done the same noise 2/3 times 3 weeks ago but no engine light on and its not doing this noise any more since then does still its gas kit gone ? can you plz help me in this regard
I live in the Baltimore Maryland Area, Need Reconditions in this Area to find and place to replace mine on a 2011 Prius. Wish I was out there. Warmer there. LOL
Try going to the JDM in Baltimore. They probably know of someone who can do an engine swap.
Engine rebuild or swap cost for Gen2?
Do you find something in common between those engines that failed the HG ? Like mileage, have they replaced water pump or did they had water pump failed. Except for overheat and misfire is there other symptoms of HG going bad? Here we have a taxi company running E180 Corollas and the guy said they run for about 650k km so far without any issue .They just replace the water pump every 200k km. They have blown 2 engines because of it.

could probably do a jb weld patch job, and slap it back together and get a few more miles out of it.
How often head gasket should be replaced? And how do know that it is thime to replace head gasket? Some people say that is because of water pump failure. Could you please explain it to me?
Each Prius is different. Typically 150k.
Water pump usually fails on these engines due to running dry because of head gasket failure. Rarely do they fail before the head gasket fails.
Hey guys, I plan to reseal the oil pan but looks like the 2nd bottom half of the engine uses some sort of FIPG. Is it possible to pull that off w/o removing the engine from the car?
You need to remove the engine. You can do it without removing the engine but you still need to disconnect the engine from the transmission because the alignment pins will prevent you from pulling it away.

EGR is closed until ECT reaches 185 degrees.

Any preventive maintainance advice? I have no issues so far. 2010 with 186k. Burns at most a quarter of a quart between 5k changes.

No. It’s caused by coolant leaking into the cylinder from leaking head gasket.
