Kusakabe blocking Maximum Uzumaki and surviving Jogo's meteor certainly is not "nothing". He had one of the best defensive feats in Shibuya. Also Sukuna has been in the mental zone the entire series. He sees something once and he immediately understands it and speculates on its implications.
