Gojo only has one cursed technique. Limitless just has mutliple ways it can be used. At base neutral (infinity barrier) and blue (the ability to pull things). Red is just blue but with reversed cursed energy(positive energy) instead of regular cursed energy, so instead of pulling it pushes. Purple is just blye and red at the same time.

One thing I've been considering is from the fact that Sukuna said "You don't know about it? Well, I guess a cursed spirit wouldn't know." to Jogo. This implies that the technique he was using to make fire was something that sorcerers should know about, and in other words is something that other sorcerers could potentially do. I think he might have some way of breaking himself out of the restrictions of only being able to use his own in-born cursed technique, overcoming the absolute limitation of one's birth in Jujutsu.
Also the way he says "Open" each time implies that he needs to "release" the ability to use fire, meaning it's not part of his innate technique. Otherwise he would just sling fire and slashes freely at any time.

One theory I heard about Sukuna’s abilities that I think you really should have mentioned is the theory that Sukuna’s power allows him to have power over Naraka, the Vedic Hell Realms. Because each of the punishments in these hell realms, hold a striking amount of similarities to certain abilities Sukuna has displayed. For example, there’s a hell in which you’re boiled alive in a giant pot, there’s a hell realm where you’re repeatedly slashed and cleaved by knives and TRIDENTS, there’s a hell in which fire raining from the sky repeatedly strikes people, which could possibly be a metaphor for LIGHTNING which Sukuna is shown capable of manipulating in his fight against Kashmo and etcetera. This theory could even explain his ability to manipulate souls. And there’s ANOTHER hell realm that I think is quite interesting that could relate to what one of Sukuna’s future abilities could be, which is the “Blue Lotus Hell” in which people who go to this hell, end up getting frozen so bad that their skin peels off and forms a lotus. So if Sukuna begins displaying a new ice ability sometime soon, then I’m just saying that I’m calling it🤷

      Your theory may hold water.
I’m terrible with the names but there is one character who can cut things at a certain ratio. (I dunno that is complicated to explain quickly).
One of the hells is Naraka is called Kālasūtra. The wiki on the subject says:
Kālasūtra (黒縄), the "black thread" Naraka, includes the torments of Sañjīva. In addition, black lines are drawn upon the body, which hell guards use as guides to cut the beings with fiery saws and sharp axes.
If there is a character with a similar ability to this and we can correlate other abilities to various forms of various rituals historically prevalent in Japan and like the straw dolls, can also be considered like Voodoo.
If cursed energy is an manifestation of negative and malicious energies it is safe to assume the most evil and powerful Sorcerer, would harness the epitome of suffering; or Duḥkha.
Duḥkha is a state of “unease”. It is difficult to translate into English so it’s most commonly understood as “suffering”.

I think Sukuna's technique is steps in a ritual/sacrifice. Cleave and dismantle are both parts of preparing a sacrifice(ie food), and the fire could be the burning/sending of the offerings to the heavens, and is also that he has to say that black box thing whenever he calls on fire: he is completing the ritual, and burning it. But the technique is incomplete, so there still could be more to it. This is backed up by how his domain is literally a shrine, but with skulls around it, possibly indicating the people he kill/"sacrificed".

It's very possible Sukuna can just replicate very simole cursed techniques by both having knowledge of the "black box" (aka opening it) and also having knowledge over the fundamental nature of cursed energy.

-All of Gojos techniques fall under limitless. Blue, red, and purple are just different forms of the same thing. The 6 eyes isn’t a technique, it’s more of a super OP divine feature. Hence why he can’t just turn it off.
    - Sukuna didn’t reveal his technique because in universe you get a power increase by doing so. Clever writing by Gege honestly.
Edit: 5 and a half minutes and another relatively minor inaccuracy,
    - Dismantle, from what I understand, is the basic attack that does damage. It can attack things with cursed energy. Cleave is just better because it adjusts itself (or can be adjusted) to an opponents durability and cursed energy level.

Moreover, jogo has every ability to eliminate someone using anything fire based, hanami has every ability to defeat someone with nature, sukuna has the ability to eliminate someone using any means of death. "Black Square" being opened might not even relate directly to his curse technique. It may be something similar to Domain amplification.
Because what stands out to me is when Sukuna is fighting Jogo and he pulls out the fire, the expression that Sukuna gives to jogos own confusion is basically being shocked. With him stating something along the lines of 'That's right. I thought you would know about this' so for some reason Sukuna half expected Jogo to know what he was doing.
So perhaps whatever he did was actually common back in the past. Perhaps a lost art that is shunned by jujutsu high and been long since forgotten to time. The other thought may be he might just have expected Jogo to know his technique because Jogo is working with Kenjaku, but that thought falls apart because the next line is 'I suppose a cursed spirit wouldnt'. Which leads me to think of techniques likes Domain amplification, The disaster curses had to be taught that technique because they never considered something like that existing.
It is fully possible "black Square" falls into this territory as well. Perhaps it being fire is directly related to Sukuna, and that each person who uses the technique gets different results based on their soul or something, or what i think is more likely its a technique that has a fully pliable nature.

Wouldnt this mean Malevolent Shrine is a place worshipping consumption? Cutting and dismantling things sounds normal if you’re going to eat something. Michizane Sugawara is the ancestor of Yuta. It is possible that the copy technique is a genetic one. The real life Sugawara also has a shrine that looks identical to Sukuna's malevolant shrine. We also now know Sukuna was somewhat of nobility. I believe Sukuna is related to Sugawara and therefore also related to Yuta both bearing the copy technique. Sukuna probably has more expertise or potential with the techniques he copies even being able to learn the domain. Maybe Yuta will be able to learn domains aswell if they share the same technique.

im still gonna go with the fact its a kitchen, cutting, fire and poison all can relate back to the kitchen and sukuna being a cannibal would make sense that his curse technique would manifest as a way to prep his food. as for the poisoning aspect, it simple goes to the fact that there are a lot of deadly ingredients in the world. food poisoning is also a thing and people usually poisons food to kill someone. but again that is just my guess. also one of the anime translations for his domain is malevolent kitchen (but that might just be a miss translation but could also be a hint)

Not just learn but the ability to understand cursed techniques and then to do them. With his vast pool of cursed energy, he just needs to learn and copy or evolve it to make it his own. The only techniques he can not do, like 6 eyes, is because they are passed down through bloodlines. Which also gives a reason why he manipulated his body to the form it is so as to offset the techniques he could not learn.

Honestly, my guess is Sukuna's main power (outside of his insane cursed energy) is something along the lines of copycat as well as also being able to learn pretty much any technique.
So far has shown that he can copy Jogo's fire, lightning attack and summon Mahoraga. What stands out is that he does not immediately use these "copycat" moves until like mid battle or nearing the end. I understand that he is only able to summon Maho due to taking over Megumi's body but all of which took time to manifest.

Or something similar. Keywords on Demon, Chef/Kitchen and Malevolent.
So... given his cursed technique names...
His technique seems to be cooking techniques. Chop... Cleave... and finally... well... the missing one is likely Cook.
It's likely that's where the fire comes from.
He likely says Open Because the Technique is likely under a binding vow of some sort that limits him as to how he can use it (Which would also explain why he said cursed spirits wouldn't know, since they practically never undertake binding vows.)
Given the fact that he's notorious for being a canabal as well... It might be that he gains something from eating others depending on how they are prepared and cooked... Hence his fairly high respect for one of the few people talented at the art.
And yes, if you translate it fairly brutally, his Domain Expansion can be translated to mean "Hell's Kitchen"

Also before Yuji eats the first finger and after he did, it was mentioned that the finger was poisonous. As for his curse ability I'd say it's understanding or enlightenment. He was a human who transformed, transcended into a curse spirit either through his own will or fussing with a curse spirit as a human and gained full understanding of curse energy. Sukuna said something in I think the first season that nobody truly understands what cursed energy actually is. There is likely more to it overall and unless I see its exact words its quite possible he said something that had an entirely different meaning and was twisted by others to fit a narrative, another thing to consider is that sometimes translators get things wrong or other times certain aspects of things cannot be properly translated which does affect alot of series especially complex ones like jjk so truly the best we can do is go off of the hints until clearly stated. The hints are overwhelmingly in favor of his ct being cooking related, malevolent kitchen, cleave and dismantle being shown as kitchen knives that serve different roles, the fact he can use fire period relates to the fact fire is needed to cook, he was clearly stated to be a cannibal which is related to food and i do believe there is some more word play related to his connection with cooking but I dont exactly know for sure at the moment.

I think that the black boxes arent individual techniques but all one which is the fire arrow. Because, if you look closley the shapes that the tattoos on his chest and shoulders make is sort of a bow like shape and the one on his forehead is the spear he uses and the slash on his nose is the dagger weapon he used in the previous chapters. And in the heian era those two tattoos were not there but now that he doesnt have those weapons they are. But when he summons the weapons or the CT the mark doesn’t disappear but rather “opens”. And I do think that there is a drawback to opening these marks to get CT or weapons because he used it three times in the show, to get the fire arrow against jogo, a second time using it against mahoraga and to get the dagger.

Gogo only has 1 cursed technique. He just uses positive and negative energy to create abilities from his limitless CT. You can have a CT but its up to the user to be creative with it.

I was personally figuring that his technique is, in fact, cutting and he's able to cut even to the molecular or atomic level such that he's not actually using fire but instead managing to generate something like plasma.

Gojo does in fact have two cursed techniques. Six eyes is just translated funky because it was important for hidden inventory to make sure people knew he couldnt turn it off. It gets called inherited gift and inherited talent and inherited jujutsu instead of inherited technique, but it is very much an inherited ability of the gojo family.

It is not by definition a ct. I predict its some kind of binding vow for the gojo family cuz six eyes is rare and it directly relates to tengen. Mechamaru has a big range of control and toji has inhuman strength cuz of heavenly resistriction but the thing they gain is not cursed technique. Likewise gojo's six eyes is not a cursed technique. It should be obvious but here we are

    • @Luminousreign
      @Luminousreign Рік тому

@@denji3397 Heavenly restriction is to binding vows what six eyes is to curse techniques. They have the exact same translation funk going on. Like, heavenly restriction is never actually called a binding vow . It is only ever called a binding presumably because, like six eyes, it is passive, and there isnt a vow involved. Six eyes is never called a technique because it is passively always on and cant be turned off or on by the user. It breaks the rules of CT activation. The language is just different to make it clear how heavenly restriction and six eyes are different from the norm.

Watching this video triggered a thought. In every Sakuna kill where he killed somebody he respected there was this one-on-one spiritual send off from him to them. Why didn't this happen with Gojo? Im not coping just making an observation. When Gojo died he saw his friends, he didn't see Sakuna, Instead Sakina said all he had to say in this world. This makes me think that somehow Gojo will have some type of return or tie into the ultimate resolution of this story.

Honestly, even as a manga reader, I wasn’t even thinking about that finger consumption panel. Granted I read that chapter over a year ago, I will say that I salute you for that theory. That’s one that I actually haven’t seen, even after watching multiple JJK UA-camrs have theories about Sukuna. It will all somehow be connected to his “black box” ability/technique. It’s most likely a reference to Gege’s previous story where the MC has a box full of weapons, so it’s somewhat possible that Sukuna is able to use the abilities of those whose souls he has touched, at the very least, cursed spirits or elemental cursed techniques, as other CT’s evolve from some base ones. Which would also somewhat explain why Kenjaku didn’t see the hype behind Yuta, or it could be that sense Kenjaku knows Yuta’s CT and Yuta as a fighter, he already has a plan of countering him

my theory on sukuna himself is that he is a conjoined twin explaining the four arms 2 faces (2 eyes for one and 2 for the other) and 2 mouths. In this case i think that sukuna cut the opponents and his twin ate it using the mouth on his belly, like the cooking theory. When they were killed and split into 20 fingers, ten for sukunas soul and ten for his twins. But i do think that his twin wasnt able to come back because itadori is the last finger that sukuna didnt eat and that finger had the twins soul in it. Therefore, i think that kenjaku put that soul or finger in itadori when kenjaku was pregnant with yuji and sukunas twin was incarnated in itadori with no memory. I think that due to the twin losing his memory sukuna did too and doesnt remember his brother or he hates him and doesnt bring hik up. I also think his twin was able to use fire to help cook his food and the ten fingers jogo fed itadori, some of them probably were from the twin and he was able to use his twins abilities because his soul wasnt there anymore. I also think it might have been temporary and he lost the ability because his brother is no longer alive and is apart of yuji. Which would have been why he never used it again.

    Random theory alert:
What if sukuna is the disaster born out of the most primitive fear of humans i.e. DEATH
Being from an era where people predominantly used swords, his most used and favourite "technique" is slices, plain and simple. But that does not mean he lacks variety. It's just that he's not used to that.
Then every fight up until now could be explained from the fact that sukuna kills or nullifies the opponent with the same thing that they have (jogo - fire , gojo - space manipulation, kasimo - lightning invulnerability)
He's a written cheat in the manga to justify Gege's obsession with unparalleled strength and the story's thematic ties to death and fear.

  • @MonoSDXC

My theory is that Sukuna's CT is the Black Box itself, but with limitations placed upon it via binding vows,
so that the main things that he actually uses it for are strengthened in exchange for the loss of functionality.
The "Black Box" as a CT would be the ability to manipulate CE to have the properties that he chooses.
For eg. He could manipulate the shape of CE to form a blade (similar to what you said at 5:48) and reinforce it by increasing it's density.
Dismantle is essentially the same thing as cleave fundamentally,
but it being weaker may be caused by yet another binding vow,
with this binding vow potentially strengthening Cleave even more.
As for the flame arrow, that's pretty self explanatory.
By manipulating the properties of cursed energy, he can turn it into fire and further manipulate it's shape,
after that he can propel it forward with whatever amount of speed and force that he chooses to do so with.
The "loss of functionality" that I referred to before would be that maybe he can only do these three things with the Black Box.
The Black Box CT would allow him to do *A LOT,* therefore, a lot would be lost via this binding vow,
and because of how binding vows work, the more you lose, the more you gain.
He may potentially be able to do more things with this (hypothetical) CT, but this all still remains applicable either way.
There's also a chance that his CT is the Black Box without any limitations, and that he's just manually restricting himself for...
Entertainment(?), but I think that that probably isn't the case.
Also, on top of the increased strength for the things that he uses the Black Box for,
him being able to simply use them the same way that one can use CTs (via an incantation) could also be thanks to this binding vow.

I always theorized that sukuna was a Clamity Spirit of War, Conflict &/or Conquest due to him being an infamous invincible warrior sitting on the throne of bones. I mean, even flaming arrows were a common sight in war. Natural disasters could even be an expression of Nature in a state of Flux or Conflict.

  • @nameisdan6877
    @nameisdan6877 Рік тому +2

My theory is that instead of sukuna gaining power as a cursed spirit from the fear of natural disasters/calamities, he get his strength or his inherent infamy from being the embodiment of war or violence. I think between the ability to manipulate fire (the most destructive element) with a distinct mastery over it, a mastery over numerous weapons, and just having his usual go to technique in fights being basic slashing attacks, he's essentially the god of war in JJK, not limited to being able to cut through or destroy space and time itself, as seen in the fight with Gojo.
