It will be a long time or probably never we will be blessed with an MJ or your Royal purple badness, Prince Rogers Nelson. THE 2 GOAT.....IN Detroit back in the 80s we had a dj The Electrifying Mojo who would have these battle of the artist. Or as he called it STAR WARS. Playing each artist songs. And at the end he would have callers call in and vote. Prince and Mj battles were classic. I cant remember who won the most, it didnt matter. Both them dudes were some BAD, gifted Mofos..and .Will be missed.

I completely forgot about this song. Takes me back to my senior year in HS.
This was their first release. Prince wanted to give her the band and album that he promised. She was also supposed to star as the lead in Under the Cherry moon but he got scared and pulled her out of the movie because the last time he had a movie for his girlfriend vanity she left and NEVER came back. That was a tough pill for prince to swallow as he thought he could do all types of foolishness and get away with it! Vanity was just as tough as Prince was. They passed away 3 months apart of each other.

How much do I love this song? I love the sensuality and the drama of it. This is definitely one of many Prince songs that's part of the soundtrack of my life. I love it when Susannah goes into her spin and screams. Jerome was looking kinda sexy in his pjs. I remember in high school, after seeing this video, rushing to the thrift store and buying some vintage satin pjs and smoking jackets to wear to school. I was so on trend.....memories (SIGH).

Actually, after Prince lost several of its members for various reasons, this was his revamping of The Time. 3 original members, Wendy's twin Susannah, and the lead singer. And scrapped the idea of keeping them as "The Time", thus "The Family" was born.
