Something he didn't mention: Fox has a niche laser slide that doubles his air speed while simultaneously firing a ground-level laser. At roll-distance from ledge or the edge of a platform, you can use it to open with damage and positioning on battlefield, and against long but helpless recoveries (of which there are very few), you can use it offstage into a VERY far rising f-air, drift back at the end, and just barely make it back onstage with a 11/1 o clock-ish angle (the situations this kills in are super rare, but the speed and distance at which it happens absolutely catches people off guard in those rare matchups. Almost useless otherwise because his ledge trapping is 95% of the time just the better option). It's more a movement option to quickly fly off platforms and chase enemies or tack on an extra laser while pursuing an enemy. It's not that useful but it is technically optimal in some situations and does a lot to alleviate his slow movement in the air when trying to close distances.
Laser slide is done by dashing (flick the stick, don't hold it), pressing and holding B, then running (hold the stick this time) the same direction. The faster you do it and the longer you hold the stick, the longer and faster the slide will be. It sends you fastest off ledges around the middle of the slide since it has this weird ease-in ease-out momentum to it.
No one mentions retreating short hop reverse B lasers either since everyone just does grounded turnaround lasers, but doing the aerial version is a more fine tuned way to camp right outside someone's range since it has more distance and you can always choose to do the B reverse vs the reverse B. Slingshot wavebounce laser is another fine tuned mix up if you're able to safely camp your opponent/in that kind of a matchup. Obviously not a go-to option, but not a bad mix up if you're just observing habits and want to add laser damage.

@@John_Dusty I can do those, but is that the same idea when connecting a back air to a down tilt? Or like Roy’s jab to back air. Do you have to do the rar input for both of those?
@@tomcampbell8934irar(instant rar) is slightly different in that it's more difficult, you have to not push forward before leaving ground or you'll turn back to forward again
Also make sure you do it after the end lag ends

can someone tell me the difference between a soft and hard attack? like soft nair and hard nair for example. also how do you auto cancel foxs dair?
soft nair is when the nair hits later and the hard nair is when it hits right as it comes out. and you auto cancel dair by doing it into the ground.

I find tilts very difficult to use without tilt stick how should I do them in your opinion?
With tilt stick if you struggle without lmao
Otherwise practice
They're not that hard to do without the c stick
I still use c stick because of muscle memory tho but the only problem with doing them without the c stick is ftilt, especially if you have to angle it, it can lead to some misinputs, but again, practice will get you there

As a fox player, I disagree with smash stick. If I’m going for nair / dair up smash I’m ready for the up smash. If I desire to back down I can slow the movement and get a tilt. A much safer option in that scenario, better than getting killed for whiffing up smash.

I'm waiting to see light incorporate Fire Fox to his gameplay. I stay breaking shields and racking up damage with that move. Yes even against good players, it's really not that hard

@@letsmakeit110 I don't use frame lingo but if you're saying it's not true as in it's not hard I'll debate against that. As u fight your opponent u begin to pick up on certain patterns and you're able to predict where they'll move and by doing this u can land where they are and use Fire Fox to either burn them or weaken their shield. If u somehow miss it's rare you'll be punished by it bcuz there are very few characters fast enough to even catch Fox once he's already fired off and he's still fast enough to possibly dodge/block

I wish it worked on all characters, frame 3 counters and up bs beat it everytime unless their damage is really high where it true combos. I love that option, but my region is a bunch plays those characters lol
