Those were some very good nuggets your boss gave you but, I especially loved the one about putting yourself first! Please 🙏 take her advice I know you have to meet deadlines for your specific workload however, please don't overwork yourself! I was doing that at the current job where I am working now and I am paying for it dearly! But thanks for sharing career advice and your beautiful daughters and family with us! You are doing a great job! ❤
Yaaaayy I love to hear that!! It should be easier for you to get right into the field with a bachelor's. Alot of big insurance companies have internship and underwriting trainee and development programs for recent, or about to graduate, students so be on the lookout!
Wow thats wonderful! Is there any specific UW role i should aim for? Im a HUGE introvert and wouldn't do well in the positions that involve alot of social interaction.
@bryybryy5653 I would say go the commercial insurance route. Most underwriter roles aren't client facing anyway but I would rather deal with businesses versus personal insurance where every consumer questions why their car insurance or home insurance increased
@@mallorylouise331 Thank you. I will keep this in mind! God bless you and keep being an inspiration. You inspired me to say enough is enough with this $20 hourly limit🙏 🙏
I love your videos! I was so happy to see your video today! I just wanted to let you know that it’s completely normal for you to feel stressed and overwhelmed. You have a whole career and you are an amazing mom to 4 beautiful girls! You are a superwoman! I think your manager’s advice to take care of yourself is so helpful. Make sure you are taking care of yourself personally as well because you deserve a mental break. Even if it’s 20-30 minutes at night when the babies go to bed. Keep being great and don’t work too hard. Make hubby take some work off your plate because you are doing more than enough ❤ I forgot to add, it’s okay to get frustrated and to get angry sometimes. If you need a few minutes to talk to yourself in the car or scream when the babies aren’t around, it’s totally normal. A good stress reliever for me is walking. If you are able, a walking pad with a standing desk is a great investment for working at home and getting some steps in. I pray you are able to get some more support throughout the days so you can relax on your lunch breaks more often. You deserve it!
Late about to watch and getting ready for bed first day as an undewriter starts tomorrow thank you so much for showing people there is a way into this career.
I love watching your Vlog 😊 did u have training or schooling before u applies to be an underwriter? Your manager was so nice and had do many positive things to say about u ❤
Hi! Thanks for watching 😊. I had a bachelor's degree in business and I had some insurance experience but not underwriting experience. Most of the time if you have some insurance experience in like sales or customer service and a degree or designation, it can be a little easier to get in. But there are also trainee and development programs with companies that will train you to be an underwriter
I’m a legal secretary looking to change careers and I’m interested in UW. Can you recommend any resources? Should I just begin applying to listings on major job boards? Directly to carriers in their portals or reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn? Any pointers to nail an interview or things to expect? I realize you are much further in your career but not starting as an undergrad has me a little thrown.
I would say all three, job boards, carrier portals, and recruiters. Recruiters may be a really good option because they can kind of assist with how your current or past experience can tie in or make you a good candidate for the uw opportunities they are recruiting for. I would also say look for specific job titles like underwriter trainee. Or maybe even underwriter assistant just to get your foot in the door. Hope that helps!
Beautiful babies! Thank you for the information/advice. I appreciate your videos.
You’re an amazing mom and I absolutely love your videos!! 🎀
Aaaww thank you!
Your manager dropped several gems. She seems to be a fair and knowledgeable leader. You are killing it, congratulations. Love the advise.

I'm luving your vlogs. What are your thought on switching from WC claims to Underwriting?
Specifically mgmt liability?
I think it's doable. It may be easier to get into Wc underwriting since that's your specialty for claims but try either way.
@@mallorylouise331Thank you 😊
