I wanted to start with a Mage, but after watching your video I want to try out the Archer so now I dont know which to start with lol. Mage or Archer?
I might be going with Thief. And main pawn archer. Wondering if the AI will target enemies weak spots...at least much better than me...😅

I tried magic archer in dd1, but I did not have biz gear so he felt weak to me, hopefully you do not need end-game gear to play magic archer in dd2.
As I did enjoy the archer, he was just very weak compare to Rogue, Sorc, and such classes. But checked some guides on youtube saying magic archer was the best class WHEN you get best gear, but I never did.
I started play dd1 about 2 weeks before dd2 came out, just to beat the game, is why I never got end-game gear to really test my Magic Archer.
However this game I will play A LOT for months most likely, so I will see what classes is the most fun when I farm the best gear at some point :)

Not being able to create multiple characters and playthroughs really killed a lot of my hype for this game. I prefer to experiment with different character builds before choosing what I want to play through with first.
And i like to do so for roleplay reasons as well. Being able to switch vocations it's just not the same and I'll have to commit to something before I can try the others.
Feel the exact same way. People keep saying “stop crying, you can switch vocations any time” but that’s not how I want to play a Role Playing game. It doesn’t make sense to my head canon to keep switching my one guy around. I want to have different characters with different looks, and experience the whole game as a vocation all the way through, not just bits and pieces. So frustrating that all it would take is multiple character slots, something every other RPG has, and they refuse to do it.
you can switch vocations though. they did this on purpose to prevent save scumming that 9/10 players do these days.

@@justinmills1721 I highly doubt you will end up not switching to half of the vocations regardless out of curiosity. I recommend using the first playthrough to enjoy trying out the different classes so you can know what you will want to play on further playthroughs. Every class is so well done you will suffer sitting there forcing yourself not to try other classes out. I'm not saying you are wrong for wanting multiple characters either, but you can still do exactly what you want to, play through the game as a single class.
I get it, but as others have said, you can be whatever you want and there is no need to start new characters. Plus, that would leave thousands of useless pawns around as people keep starting over.
How to have more than one character/save file:
If you're on PC simply go to the file folder where your saves are stored and make a backup copy of your save files. You can then start a new game with a new character without TRULY deleting your old one. Just be extra sure to store those save file copies in a safe place! ;) Hope it helps.

I for one think everybody should learn to use gyro aiming. You don't use it for the entire aim but you use it to find TuneIn and you can get much better fine tuning with the gyro then you can a stick and it's also easier to follow moving targets
Will you be covering DD2 like you did Elden Ring? That was an amazing series

I started with fighter, then started seeing uploads of people running archer and was like damn, think I made the wrong choice ? lol Now here I am, thanks mate very informative because I haven’t even scratched the surface with this game yet.
Archer then Thief, I had spear hand and the sell sword guy ate my lunch. I switched back to thief, and I didn't get hit. I climbed the boss dragon, and got to his head, and never got off until I won the game. Just kept my stamina up, and never fell off.

i played a few hours, firstly as an archer and then as a fighter, neither of them are that much fun. Thief looks awesome, so will try that next.
How similar are the skillsets compared to DD1? I see lots of similar frames there.

Can I start as thief and go for sorcerer or do I have to start with mage?
Hi. I was playing DD1 first to see if DD2 would be my style of game. I prefer ranged approaches so in DD1 I am a sorcerer but in DD2 I think I will starr with the archer. Not only is ranged combat unlinke fighter/mage (slow) but also is something diferent from my charactet in DD1 (also I heard sorcerer got heavily nerfed so....). If I start with the archer, in how long do you think I will be unlocking the magick archer vocation?

@@nicolestein3142I think i heard that your save data is on their servers not local. So you cant reset your data? Idk tho i just heard that on reddit or something
@@fishtheperson after backing up your save files, you can delete your saves from in game if needed.

A new guy to dd here, about what you mentioned in the beginning, if I want, can't I delete my character or save file and start totally from the beginning? As I understand so far from what I searched a bit, this might be the only solution for multiple playthroughs for ps5 at least
There's no way to delete your character, but yes if you can find a way to completely remove your save data then you can start again that way :)
On the PC it's a bit easier as you can find the save files in your Steam folder and make a backup so you can in theory have multiple characters, it just requires you to figure out where the saves are actually stored lol
@@DomsRoundtablethis is such a dumb mechanic. I was interested in the game until you pointed this out. I am glad to know ahead of time. I love playing a variety of classes and ways in these types of games so only having access to one? restrictive for no reason it seems. Anyhow thank you for your video.
@@alsafycheWell as you progress through the game, you end up learning all the different classes and their skills so you can switch to anyone one of them whenever you want. Plus Wayfarer is a class that has access to three class at once.

You can by go to save and delete everywhere

We know what a good game looks like, stop shilling for this game. $70 single player game full of micro transactions?!? Just look at the steam reviews. This game is horrible.
If you check what the micros are selling then you will see that they are not so bad. They are not pay to win nor something makes you feel like something is missing from the game.

You can’t start a new game so enjoy your one and only pick with no ability to try other classs, great game … EDIT , after the first patch the game works good for me . I’m playing the game is fun . The micros aren’t bad, so much upset was thinking you were locked behind micros, after patch with new game and 99 metamorphism, much solved. Fun game worth trying now
That’s highly inaccurate you can change your vocation at any guild for close to nothing in gold. As for the transactions, none of them are needed to play the game.

@@Cyfreusas I said, any guild will allow you to switch vocations. And, micro transactions have no bearing on the game (as all of these items are easily accessible). If you disagree, state your point, but don’t give a straw man.

Depends on your preferences. Mage is an absolutely great and fun to play class. However if you're looking to be a more "powerful" damage (dps) focused class then check out Sorcerer. Note that the sorc does no have healing spells like the mage though. So you won't be doing AoE Healing spells or the like. That's the trade-off but the new dps focused skills of the sorcerer are extremely powerful and well worth it if thats your preference.
So dumb. Let me switch characters. It’s a fucking $70 game.
They just added a new save in the next update
