You can use those to upgrade your higher tier equipments too. Keep that in mind before selling all of them.
In regards to time sensitive quests, they are labeled with an hour glass icon next to them in your quest log. This makes it easy to manage and know what is time sensitive and what can wait. As soon as I pick up a new quest I open my quest log to check and see if I need to “do it now”, kinda deal.

@@Tri7on yeah I’m not sure why content creators do not mention this. They mention the time sensitive mechanic but fail to mention how to manage it… they basically tell us about it and make us all freak out and do every quest as soon as we get it, in fear of failing that mission… without telling us how to manage the mechanic. Its weird to me…
BE CAREFUL! There are some quests which are time sensitive and they are NOT labeled with an hour glass icon. Like for example Hugo's quest is not labeled. And if you fail to go immediately to the old battlefield he will die and you fail the quest.
Found out after I dropped spoiled food that you can combine those for lantern oil.
Another tip that I don't see anybody talk about is if you give your gear to your support pawns while you're exploring and you have to trade in that pawn all the gear that you gave them will automatically go to your storage so you can add items to your storage at a rift stone without having to go to an inn

Just to be clear, it does not apply if you have them equip armor or various gear, they keep those for their Arisen.

Just a quick tip, if you reach having a hard time getting to high up places, get a fighter pawn with the springboard ability, you can search for it specifically. Whenever you want them to use it, use the go command, and they'll hunch down, just walk onto the shield and they'll give you a boost up. They won't _always_ listen to the command, but the vast majority of the time, they do.
I read somewhere that using the “help me” function outside of battle got the fighter to use springboard most of the time. Haven’t tested it out yet

Don't forget there's a quest in the first big city that is easy (watch someone's house for a week) after which they will sell you their house for 20,000 gold. That may seem like a lot but it won't be, so save up, and buy your house - this counts as an Inn save without having to spend 2K a pop every time you want to hard save to backup your game. Essential. They will be adding a cheaper early home you can buy in the next patch, but 20K is easy and it's nice to have a free inn. Pays for itself! Also of note, the sorcerer will eventually get you the Statis augment, which you can equip with any vocation once unlocked, and it will allow any food to spoil at a slower rate. Similarly important, leveling your Fighter class up - it takes a while - will get you the Thew augment, and you can equip that to increase your carry weight some.
Yeah, that's what I do. There's also a house in bakbattahal you can buy for 30k.
Level twelve ….lost in wilderness….loss gauge at basically 1 hit KO…All pawns dead and or sacrificed for escape…..save…at the inn….back to level 2….DO NOT get caught WITHOUT a camping kit and a CLOSE INN SAVE to your current level
uhmm you do know you can save anytime out of combat by going to System settings, right?
Pro tip: always check your main pawn and hired pawns eyes, if they are glowing red throw them into the water for the brine to cleanse them they have the pawn plague and this can kill everyone in town if left unattended, get rid of any hired pawn that’s eyes are glowing red and cleanse your own pawn in the brine then just get them back from the rift spawns points. Also listen to the pawns they will start being cheeky like “don’t tell me what to do I know what I’m doing etc or they will be holding their head as if they have a headache. This can ruin your game ALL NPC’S CAN DIE IN THE TOWN YOU SLEEP IN !!!

Apparently the NPCs respawn in 7 days. I don't know this from experience but I've been hearing this in lots of tips videos and reading it in the comments.

So for enhancing gear, there are actually different type of upgrades. I didnt know this for like 60 hours. The vermundian is all-around bonus, the elf village smith improves magic/magic defense, and the battahlian smiths do defense. The slots on the gear get a unique symbol for what type of enhancement it gets.
There is also a fourth smith also that helps u do stagger damage and resist stagger damage

When you learn of the Dragon's Plague, PLEASE do a video on this. Not heeding the warnings will have immense consequences on your playthrough. This isn't some jibberish your pawns talk about from time to time, it is an actual thing.
Emphasis on the “PLEASE” haha more people really need to know about this and see the signs.
@@jayveeezythe signs appear to be pawns not listening to you, becoming stronger and using spells/skills they don't have, pawns having red eyes. The red eyes thing might mean it's too late, not sure on that. Supposedly you can just kill the pawn if you suspect they might be infected and resummon them to cure it. Not super sure on that either.

Seeker’s Token Tip:
Write down the location of the first Seeker’s Token you find. Absolutely 110% mark it on your map as well, but just in case you accidentally clear your markers write a detailed description on exactly where it is. It will be very important later on.
Personally on my next playthrough I will be ignoring every single Seeker’s Token until I get to the main city and I will be picking up the one in the fountain in the main market square for my first just to be sure it’s easy to get to later.
EDIT: I just learned that Seeker’s Tokens carry over to your NG+ playthrough and you have to remember the first one picked up during that NG+ playthrough (not the very first one ever). So for each playthrough you have to remember the location of the first one you found. They don’t repopulate just because you started a new playthrough, which is great because I’d hate to have to find some of these things again.
EDIT 2: Turns out you can fail that particular part of the quest and as long as you find the quest giver again the games continue.

There’s one across a ledge jump, as soon as you exit the goal in the start of the game. It’s the first token available, I recommend everyone grab this one, and remember it
I think the biggest thing I noticed between timed and untimed is that the time sensitive quests have a hourglass next to them, while most others don't (for example I got a quest to take me to Battahl but I couldn't get there at the level I received the quest therefore it kinda stayed in my log.) while the rescue quests I had had a hourglass next to them.
Idk how much of a difference that makes but it should help???
The hourglass ones are the time sensitive ones that actually fail.
Other quests can sound like they have urgency, but do not fail due to resting or passage of the day/night cycle
I never load last inn save. I use manual saves all the time because there are plenty of safe spaces in the wild once you kill the local enemies and camp.
@11:00 Just to piggyback, for any newer players like me, keep in mind, though sometimes these pawns can be higher leveled always make sure you’re looking at their stats before you decide to switch your current pawn. There’s been plenty of times I’ve come across pawns that are higher lvl’d but they’re geared like shit bc their Arisen aren’t properly arming them. So just make sure yall take the time to look before you hire. ✌🏾

Yes this is very important. I found a guys lvl 18 warrior pawn that I used allll the way up to level 31 because not one other pawn I seen had strength or defense even close to his he had 560 strength and 540 defense at level 18. Literally 200 more strength and defense than any other melee pawn I looked at. Yes he had lower health at level 18 than a higher pawn. But because I was using mystic spearhand and he never took damage and I also run a mage pawn for healing. His hp didn't matter at all.
U can save and continue almost anytime out of combat as well as getting an automatic save anytime u sleep. When killed or first logging in I get the option for either. Save and continue is one feature the first Dragons Dogma was missing
When i saw save and continue was available i was so excited. I lost so much time in the first game cause of deaths and using the wrong load options. So now i pretty much exclusively use regular saves instead of inn saves. Plus i always save before every big fight (if i can tell im about to enter one), before every cave, and once time changes to night if ive yet to find a close camping spot.
Only sleeping at an inn or your house saves a checkpoint just fyi
Don’t upgrade your gear immediately!
Each city upgrades your gear differently from each other.
For example the Vermund does a mediocre balance upgrade, elf town will focus on the magic side of equipment for upgrades, the town on the west focuses on strength.
It says right at the top right of the screen when you are in the enhancement screen what the current town will focus on with the upgrade.
16:14 “A style of smithing common throughout Vermund. Favors a tried and true method moderately enhances all attributes of a piece of equipment”
That said your gear at the beginning can just be upgraded at the Vermund. But you might want to keep that in mind if you get a duplicate of something you like.
Late game it’s very easy to ruin a piece of gear and waste resources by upgrading it not optimally eg magic weapon with strength upgrade.

Early Gold tip:
Always hire 2 pawns that have the same pawn quest (usually kill cyclops/ogre/etc) with 5k-10k gold reward. Complete pawn quest, change 2 pawns and repeat.
Support this method by setting your OWN pawn quest and reward same as this so that other people can hire your pawn.
Game is not that hard even you dont have support pawns (mages).
I prefer pawn quest over pawns vocation/skills/gear.
The forged portcrystal (partcrystal) fully heals the loss gauge. It's 60,000 though, so
Dunno if this is mentioned or not but the golden trove bugs, keep one, its used in part of a quest, don't wanna spoil it but one is used, so keep at least one.
Could you tell me what quest requires it? I've done 2 playthroughs and never needed any.

Don't underestimate the mage spell "Celerity", especially on a support focused Pawn - it quickens all movement, straight out increasing attackspeed (DPS) and when you're outside of combat giving the "Help" command makes your Pawn use it on you, so you can traverse the lands faster
And also very usefull for my fellow Mages out there - heal is the new holy damage for undead, basically Anodyne is a deadly bubble shield when fighting them and can be used quiet well even on flying enemies since it can be cast while levitating, really really usefull offensive spell when you're out at night or find one or the other tougher undead
The game is challenging in the beginning, but gets easy when you're around levels 40+. Even drakes aren't bad at that level, especially if you're a sorcerer or thief. As for the items staying fresh forever in storage, my stack of 99 figs, steaks, and apples in storage turned rotten when I went into the endgame area. I'm not sure if this was a bug or intentional. I don't want to give spoilers, so I'm not going to mention what the endgame is like, but I guess it makes sense for food to spoil in such conditions, even in storage.

Me and another player have been using each other’s pawns continuously. It’s awesome to dismiss them and find them again at a higher level. It feels like whenever you pick them back up it’s your weekend with the kids or something 😂
I haven’t felt so immersed and addicted to a game for a long time. I think KCD is the only game that creates the same in-world-immersion

Very good explanation of inclinations! Thanks Dom, straightforward‘ing ;-) my Main Warrior Pawn did really wonders. He finds every enemy first.
Do multiple vocations for you and your pawn asap so you can use the augments from one vocation on vocations you like.
For example archer has ‘endurance’ that increases your max stamina. Warrior has ‘vitality’ that increases max health. Mage has another that increases stamina recovery.
I like to run all 3 of those augments on any vocation I’m using but the only way to get them is to play using those vocations.
Early game just swap with your pawn so you can gear swap to save money. Both my character and my pawn had max archer and mage before we reached the second city.
Swapping jobs and gear with the pawn is genius. Thanks for the tip.
Just to make this clear, certain quests have a limit that you can see from the quest menu. They will show a flashing hourglass symbol next to them.
However, your advice about completing most quests in a timely manner is still valid. The majority of all characters are subject to whatever random shit this game likes to throw at them. There's always a chance that a quest giver will die to unforseen circumstances.
Make sure to have an inn save so you can revert. If it hasn't been too long since a person has died, you can also find their body at the morgue. You'll be able to revive them with wakestones
Pawn inclination matters with support mages especially: a kindhearted mage will heal you without being asked, which makes a huge difference in tight spots. Also, your pawns will helpfully tell you if your party is unbalanced as part of their incessant chatter. They'll comment that you have no healer in the party for example. And guides are all well and good but just go with your gut. I made my main pawn a straightforward archer which is not the "best" inclination for an archer, but boy do I love watching her just charge into battle flicking off a barrage of arrows.

The caveat about food is dried food, those stay forever, as does the foodstuffs made from those. Mix those enough & they're extremely potent. Don't discount rotten food, certain rotten food types can be combined to make other things, like lantern oil. Pawns can be specialized in certain things; these specializations change their personalities slightly, & they can only have one at a time. So if you get another specialization for the pawn & give it to them, that new specialization will override the previous one. Lastly, if you have some people on your friends list who play this game, friends pawns are free of charge, regardless of the level difference between you & them.
kindhearted also works for sorcerer. they will prioritize helping you, including sink casting or if you are winded from using all your stamina. if the tank is kind, they may disrupt your formation if they are taking agro and suddenly stop fighting to help you. this can make enemies they agro run after them to you so you being away from them, for safe dps,, won't last. best to have the tank as streightforward, that way they attack more and maintain agro, unless you wnat agro then you can leave that one out or use it on a dps. if this is on a dps, make sure you can keep up as the tank so you keep agro.
i suspected that calm or simple were going to be the least valuable, good to know that the good inclinations can fill a party without missing any. just avoid calm lol. calm ones being the last to die could be argued for a tank or healer i guess, so they last as long as possible to keep you safe. that said, this game follows original Persona 3 rules so living pawns don't matter if the player is dead. i bet the community will find out the rules for the item disposal so this won't be as bad, in the future.
pawns may also discuss monster weaknesses or stategies in combat and the go comand tells them to focus on those tactics.
trickster has an early augment, at rank 2, that makes finding some reare items like seaker's tokens and wake stone shard easier. it's an augment so, once you unlock it, an vocation can use it.
hmm had some misinformation not long ago saying you had to pick who gets the carry weight bug. good to know it works on both of you.

the loss gauge accumulation on load only happens if you choose to continue after you die, if you choose to go back to main menu and then load there will be no additional loss gauge accumulation

If you are using a ps5 you can set the auto sync feature off for DD2 specifically in the settings menu of the ps5. Now you upload to a save game on the cloud and download it again if you made a big mistake in the game. But remember you need to upload manually. The pd5 won’t auto upload anymore until you turn back on the auto sync in the menu.
Actually Calm only drops item that are rotten and he will inform you if he drops it but wont ask for approval so u can just pick it up(this is a lack of information in alot of videos ive seen) its also my main pawn inclination for my first playthrough upto lvl 90 and is one of the best inclination especially for archer, sorc, mage and even the fighter and warrior classes, its a very good allrounder as it can draw enemy if its a tank but survives longer than a straightforward pawn as that one depletes its stamina so fast it would become defenseless for simple pawn its good for a first playthrough i guess but it becomes annoying later on as u already have more materials u can store specially now that im on my 3rd one it keeps picking up items i already maxed out in the storage. Kindhearted is good but is mainly good for mages and is the best for it coz whenever you kd it will prioritize u but since i like to switch vocations i also want to switch pawn vocation and kindhearted as tank pawns are pretty bad, the draw aggro and once u get kd the run towards you with the enemies.
Calm "Inclination" Doesn't throw away items i have had my pawn with Calm for 200 hours never once was anything missing.
I think what you're mentioning is about "Specialization: Logistician" the one unlocked with the scroll but they also don't "get rid" of items They rearrange your items to other Pawns to distribute weight. So when you change your support pawns their inventory goes into your storage bank, Which is the only logical thing i can think of if you happen to have items missing from your inventory. They're not gone just check your bank. Another possibility is Specialization: Chirurgeon who uses healing items on others this could also be one of the reasons why you may think a calm inclination pawn has removed said item, when in fact a specialization was the one using items on others to save your party or in alot of instances waste it ngl.
Also Calm Inclination i feel is majorly used for Sorcs who don't need to heal you or really support anything but need to be in a safe place to cast spells, Weak Knockback resist and long cast times.
I've seen my sorc move away from enemies to cast a spell from range multiple times More often then other Inclinations like say straightforward but of course if you have a melee range spell it will still go close to do so cast range is a thing for their AI.
All From my experience with my Calm Pawn of 200Hrs.
Course it's not perfect like any of the other Inclinations AI they have their own issues mostly from the base AI.
Example:
ALL vocation with simple, Instead of face tanking or healing things or drawing agro or casting/dps the pawns saying "what's inside this chest?" , Are the last words you hear as the "This tale has ended screen appears". I feel they are useful to find Loot but not really giving items wise cos it's usually junk.
Sorc/mage vocation with Kind hearted, Stops casting that meteor/stamina spell you've been protecting them from enemies for soo close to the full cast , And stops at the last second cos your other pawn died and mage/sorc wanted to cast Necro spell carry dead body instead.
All in all From experience, just take it as a flavor/voice profile The Base AI is bad to a point it doesn't matter as much.
If anything highlighting to players that a pawns inclination isn't going to fix the bad base AI is important.
They will All do wonky silly funny things that make the game hilarious and good or bad it's your experience, here's just some of mine.

Concerning your 16th tip, I do think (not 100% sure though) that time sensitive quests have an hour glass in your quest log next to them to tell you that they are in fact time sensitive. One of the first quest you get, which is to find some soldier in the wild because he might be fighting harpies, has such hour glass in the quest log and logically, it would be one of those quest where if you take too much time, the soldier gets killed by those harpies. I dont know if anyone could confirm this.

When does your pawn vocation save for other players to use? Mine is a mage as shes my healer, but shes about to max so i will have to switch vocation to level that for passives. If I set her vocation before staying at the Inn then switch back right after will players still see her as a mage or a new what ever?
LoL yeah. I'm on my third playthrough, without doing the endgame. It's kind of dumb, but I just figured out how to get the mage and sorcerer maister spells. While camping, waiting for the girl to go power mad, I was attacked by three goblins and they wrecked my elite camping gear. Then the same day they wrecked the found camping gear. I don't know if this will work, but if you get something you absolutely want to keep, spend the time to get it counterfeited. If it does work, great. If it doesn't, well now you know.
I did not know about the storage being frozen in time so to speak, thumbs up

I have a question about the dying/dead quest givers. Can you not revive them using a Wakestone at one of the games morgues/charnel houses?
There are very few time-sensitive quests. I've encountered maybe 4 or 5. They exist, but are quite rare. Also, you can see if they're timed, in the quest list. If they have an hourglass, they're timed.

Time sensitive side missions will yave an hourglass nest to the name. Also if an npc dies use a wake stone on it and the quest will resume like normal. If u can find the npc check vermund burial center. Then u can revive them there. Had to do this with Spellbound wuest cuz the grandma died on me without me knowing.

One thing I want to note. I ran with 2 support pawns for 9 in game days. I can't say for certain if their player had leveled them during this time. But their levels were almost always 1 level behind my main pawn. I think I have some screenshots to show if needed. Not sure how or why this happened.
Same exact thing happened to me vis a vis the inn rests/camping rests at the same time in the game. I also lost about 5-6 hours of progress. I was SO frustrated. Early on it presents inns and camps as the same thing, so it makes no sense that they actually function different.
Great info!!! Started playing lastnight. Question: Why do all the Pawns and Mains have great looking clothing/armor and I still have a miners outfit and a potato sack with pockets? Am I missing something? I am only Lvl 4 and am just about to reach Meave(Sp). Peace
game should guide u to the guy that let's u choose a vocation (class). once u do that, u get gear for free, it's basic but free (also, u gotta do a quest for him to unlock the other vocations so u can switch if u don't like the one u picked, switching is free and adviced as all augments ((passive bonusses)) from 1 vocation, can be used on all other vocations, so u can mix and match).... After that, u gotta use shops and buy that better gear, better in stats or better in looks... :P
If you like collecting chests and seeker tokens go thief with the dowsing rods and equip the trickster augment “detection”
I’m a fighter rolling with a sorcerer and 2 mages. We run through everything. The mage is kind hearted. And everyone else is calm.
Also if no one mentioned it each town has their own kind of way they upgrade gear. Vermund blacksmith upgrades all around average, the elves specialize in magic and magic defense upgrade, and Bahtal smith specializes in Power and raw defense upgrades. That's that why you see different symbols on the bottom if you upgrade in different main hubs. So be careful if you want a strong staff but upgrade in Bahtal because at that point you just wasted resources on a weak upgrade.

For pawns all you have to do is search for pawns at your level and they cost nothing. I have yet to spend anything and I’m level 27
I finally bought the game, I was deciding for a few days, but they I just fired up Steam and bought it. Spent two and a half hrs to create character and fist pawn and and I have to say - character creating is great experience. While I was 100% sure I'm starting with archer, my character at the end said nope, he is a savage and he has to be a thief :) .. we'll see how the game will be running, I have 3090RTX and i7 13700k, I installed the game on fast NVme so I really hope I'll get more or less stabile 60fps in 4k (for now, at the first hour I'm at 100+ but I'm aware that won't hold in the town but if I manage to stay around 60fps - I'm totally fine with it. Can't wait the weekend to play for at least 30hrs :) :)

You get it in the checkpoint city from the potion vendor. If i remember right he will stop you while you walk by, so you really cant miss it. the western exit to the capitol has an ox cart that goes directly there.
So you know. If you exit to title when you die. You don’t get the sickness.

When you die and reload from last save. You get a decrease to your max health that Graybar goes down significantly.

The go command is like 50/50 for me when answering a pawn's request. Sometimes is just doesn't work, other times it will work then I'll run into an encounter and the pawn will forget anything ever happened.
I think they have to have the palm sign hovering over them for it to actually work. Sometimes they say they can help with something but don't have that sign above them and they don't do anything. Seems to work well if they actually have that sign on them.

herea a tip. i was locked out of ulrika quest and couldnt meet her at the dock. i used a eteenal wakestone. in melve i apparently had the npc i needed died and this fixed that for me.
when the video said that the game was incredibly challenging, i had a big chuckle and could not take it serious any more.
Buy apples at Melve and sell them at Battahl for a big profit. Hide in black boxed in ox cart center at checkpoint rest town to get through gate without fuss.
Advanced search pawns with exactly what you are looking for because you want to make sure they are using abilities you want.
Example - your level (0 rc), Fighter, feminine, Straightforward, shield drum
Then you’ll just need to look through a handful of pawns and pick your favorite.
Then to be a real edgelord, going back to the example. That’s a tank, so view the pawn stats and pick out the one with the highest health and highest defense. You can also look to verify they are maxed out fighter vocation.

Personally i have a calm pawn. Shes never thrown anything away. But she is a fighter and healer so i only stock her with potions
Talking about saves, the game will generall auto-save before a tough fight. If the fight goes poorly you can restart from there, with a little less health (as was mention in the video, your max heal will drop by about1/6 or so each try)...but still probably worth a try if you think you know what you did wrong. If the fight is too tough you can always run away lol. Run...find a campsite, camp, cook and try again :-)

Go to the vernworth city and go inside the big building near the port crystal toward the center of the city. There will be a guy in that dark building that sells inclination changes
The best way I've found is to buy the art of metamorphosis (bought for 500 rc at pawn guild in Vernworth) and visit the hairstylist to use it on your pawn. You can change the inclination as well as re-do any character creation you need to.
Support Pawn don't steal your gear went dismiss or lost the loot they have on them go directly to your storage. But the pawn personality was badly explain in the game so nice one on making it clearer!

I did the exact same thing with the last save/Inn Save thing and lost 6 hours. I did a lot of pointless exploring so I got back to where I was in probably 2-3 hours. Still sucked though and I warned my friends about it.

Shit I’ve just been walking away from the pawns of the forgotten stones I got one higher level than me and one open spot to make up for the xp loss but are you sure the pawns take your equipment with them when they leave your world? I was told everything goes into your home storage
When i was a fighter at the start the goblins were kicking my ass, but as usual with DD i became a fuckin unstoppable force of nature the second i became a warrior
I'm dumb because of how cost-effective it is to just enhance, but I've been doing just fine not enhancing gear at all and simply upgrading to the next best thing when possible. I also have been doing a lot of side stuff and exploring so I might be generally over-leveled.
I typically do the first level as it is only small amount of gold and no items, just for a small boost. But I agree with you - too many times I've upgraded an item all the way just to find a better one an hour later. Haha
If you make a mistake and load last In just quit game without saving. You will go back to last save. I did the same mistake but saved it by quitting game.

based on your shakey aim I would suggest turning off the motion sensing aim option.

Also, this game is meant to be played multiple times through NG+. So I wouldn't worry about missing every little thing and every little quest. Yes, take your time and do everything you want do to thoroughly. But don't feel bad about missing something and restarting.
Gold scarabs don't give for both. You have to choose you or your pawn.
Also heres another tip. The less pawns u have with u the more xp and dcp u get from kills.
They have unique pawns on playstation. I got a level 16 mage when i was level 7 and got a level 15 warrior when i was at level 9. The warrior and mage stayed with me for weeks in game. They would destroy enemies in 1 or 2 hits
