    Just to clarify, the Civic & Corolla are incredible vehicles that have rightfully earned their top-selling spots, however, I stand by my statement that this is the nicest and most high-end compact sedan in the mainstream class! Also, upon doing some research, the Mazda 3 sedan holds perfectly equal resale value to a comparably equipped Corolla sedan but the Civic sedan holds the highest resale value of the three mentioned.
    Would you choose the Civic, Corolla, or Mazda 3?

      Even though the Corolla is much improved and,now comes in hatchback with a manual, it would still come down to the Civic and Mazda 3 for. Much better looks inside and out (Mazda) or peppy turbo engine and better handling for about the same price or less? (CIvic) Tough choice, i would have to test drive both the same day...and see which dealership doesnt treat me like garbage. My experience with multiple Honda dealerships in the past has been pure arrogance/indifference, with multiple Mazda dealships a mixed bag, but mostly positive.

    I have the 2019, and I see that they still haven't moved the USB cable port above the cup holders. It's right in the way of your drink, making the driver's side cup holder mostly useless.
    You didn't touch on the adaptive cruise, and while it's certainly functional, the engineers who programmed it only seem to understand full throttle and full brake. There's no in between, and that makes for an uncomfortable ride when someone enters or leaves the following distance zone.
    The AWD works fine, but the torque vector steering can sometimes feel very strange as the back wheels are pushing and the front wheel is trying to stop. On more than one occasion the car felt out of control on a slick road.
    You didn't mention the speed-adaptive audio which raises the volume when the speed reaches certain levels. It's nice to have the vehicle fix the volume when road noise increases.
    Overall, if the 2020 is mostly the same as the 2019, I'd recommend it. There are so few of them on the road, though, that I wonder how available parts will be in the future for it.

    I'm glad we in Europe have the Skyactiv-X engine, a 2L petrol with 180 European horsepower, 17 to 19 km per L. (That's something around 40 to 50 mpg) and not more than 130 grams of CO2 per kilometer! Most engines with that amount of horsepower pollute 160 to 180 grams of CO2 per kilometer. And they only get 13 to 15 kilometers per litre. The Skyactiv-X is an awesome engine and I hope you people in America will get it too! I'm inclined to agree that the Mazda3 is an attractive and appealing vehicle. But Mazda is the smallest mainstream automotive manufacturer on the planet. And one has to wonder how long it can sustain itself in view of its dismal sales in almost all vehicle categories. In the first quarter of 2020, a sales catastrophe for almost all brands, Mazda fared even worse than others. The Mazda3 was outsold not only by the Civic and the Corolla. It was outsold by the Elantra, the Sentra, the Forte, and the Jetta. And not by a little but by a LOT. Mazda sold 8118 Mazda3's in the first quarter. The others cited above each sold over 20,000 units in the same period. The KIA Forte even managed a 5% increase in sales while the Mazda3 sales were down an astounding 47% so far in 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019. VW sold nearly as many Golfs (7700) as Mazda3's and VW has announced they're discontinuing the basic Golf in the US.
    All categories of sedans continue to shrink in the US market and none has been hit harder than the compact segment. If you like the Mazda3 this is a good time to buy one. The next generation may well come from the Mazda division of Toyota. That's a shame, imo, but automotive manufacturers are businesses, not non-profits.

    • @buchajo
      @buchajo 3 роки тому

      Did ya check how many CX30s sold for the same period? There’s your Mazda3 sales..... Mazda3 isn’t a volume seller for Mazda. CX5 outsells all other Mazda models combined. Think about that.... and CX30 following in its footsteps.... people want SUV type vehicles not compact cars.....

    • @stephenhendricks103
      @stephenhendricks103 3 роки тому

      @@buchajo Sorry, friend. The appropriate comparison is not sales volumes between one Mazda model and another but between a Mazda vehicle and its rival brands in the same category. Cannibalizing sales of other models of the same brand isn't a sign of strength; it's a sign of weakness. The fact that the CX-5 outsells the much higher profit CX-9 by a ratio of 5 to 1 isn't good news for Mazda. Neither is the fact that the CX-9 is the slowest selling midsize crossover in the entire industry.

      Akshay Gidh The Jetta is a great car but it doesn’t have some features of the Mazda. A head up display, wireless charging pad, and AWD just to name a few. The turbo engine in the Jetta is a about as quick as this despite its lower power output and the MPG on the Jetta is superior for sure. The Bose in the Mazda is also better than the Beats sound system in the Jetta since Mazda put the bass speakers in the dash vs in the door. It also has a more crisp output at higher volumes and doesn’t distort. They are both good but it depends what your priorities are. If features, quality materials, and handling are priorities, the Mazda will win. Comfort, MPG, and overall space goes to the Jetta.
