Good work Greg!! In sooo tired of dingleberries that want to accuse companies of copies and they don’t understand class. But for some reason they’re fine with the larger vehicle in their driveway. - Anytime I see something dumb I’m pointing them here!!
Yes. Great points. Off topic question:- Love your 1/10 scale, scale truck that you showed us. Which one is YOUR favourite.? (Im having issues choosing my next truck)
If it's a copy or not, to me it doesn't matter, just a cheaper price for a copy and you still get great performance but I do buy Traxxas, Arrma and redcat and don't care about if they all are the same setup
@@AsurasWrath164 my understanding is that the Losi Baja is their answer to the Traxxas UDR. I thought it was the competition to the UDR since both RCs are very similar to each other.
Possibility a dumb question but i tried google and now im just confused. Throttle trim...according to google is supposed to be set so can doesnt move on its own. I guess that makes sense for nitro dont want it to idle away..but on electric rc's it's supossed to adjust throttle neutral point? My experience with rc's has been that the throttle trim is almost like a limiter. On my wltoys 124017's the throttle trim is almost like a speed limiter...turned way down the car is alot slower and more controllable for less experienced drivers....turned up even experienced drivers will have a hard time to keep car from doing cartwheels lol. What im wondering is if the kraton 6s v6's throttle trim is the same way..lower less power up for more power? Or does it actually adjust something else? Owners manual doesn't really give a good explanation either just says what the stock settings are(neutral in middle). Kraton 6s v6 controller slt3 has an actual power limiter 50/75/100 so im wondering if im running car on 100 but leaving throttle trim at neutral setting am i leaving power on the table unused because of my trim setting? Or will car try to take off if i turn it up? Stupid confusing google.
I don't know if you or some RCer out there can help me or not ! But I'm new to the hobby, and i have a Tenergy TB6B charger, and it has an EC3 connector that comes with it. i waa just giffted a Arrma Vorteks maga 550, and the battery that came with it has an IC3 connector on it . The thing i need to know is can the EC3 connector be used to charge a battery with the IC3 connector on it ?? I've emailed Tenegy, and they told me they never heard of an IC3 connector !! Any help would be greatly appreciated !!
They are 100% compatible! How a company never heard of ic-style is beyond me. Bunch of i.d.i.o.t.s The old ec-style was Horizon Hobbys first attempt at a proprietary connector, and then they came out with ic. That's the reason they're compatible. Both from the same company.
You can absolutely use IC3/EC3 as well as the IC5/EC5 connecters together, they are essentially equivalent, only difference is the IC connecters have an added pin (the thin wire) which carries "smart" battery information from your RC model to the transmitter. If you get deep into the hobby and throw away all those RTR transmitters, there will be no need for an IC connector. You can build your own if you get a transmitter and receiver that support that info, example would be Radiolink RC8X Transmitter with one of the corresponding 7/8 channel receivers... There are many more and probably better examples, this is just one, that is cheaper than others.
@brandongirardi4027 I don't get why Tenergy told me they never heard of an IC3 connector and that I can't use the EC3 connector to charge my battery that has an IC3 connector on it ? They manufacture the charger you'd think they would know how to use it and what it will charge ! Not to be rude, remember I'm new to all of this. Are you 100% sure i can use the EC3 connector to charge my battery that has the IC3 connector on it ? I'm on a fixed income, and I can't afford to replace anything if I mess it up or Cause a fire or explosion !!!
100% the only caveat is that without the smart pin, you will lose the capability of smart charging with the spektrum brand chargers that promote the use of IC connectors. I’m not knocking them. They certainly are great and easy for newbies because realistically, you don’t want to burn your house down from charging a battery improperly. However, like a lot of Traxxas stuff, they are proprietary and you will pay a premium for the use of the product yet only get mediocre performance in return. Once you break free of the chains of smart charging, you can learn how to get more bang for your buck with free market lipos. You will be buying connector free battery and soldering on your own connectors in no time. Lastly, if you do have a smart charger, mean, like specifically a Traxxas, or a spektrum one, They do offer the ability to charge “not smart batteries”. Just refer to your manual for proper charging because again, you really don’t wanna start a lipo fire. But again, I will rest with EC and IC are absolutely compatible. The only thing you lose, is any of the smart features, and one of those is simple charging
@brandongirardi4027 The Vorteks came with the spectrum smart charger, so I guess I'm all set ! It seems like the only thing the TB6B charger is good for is charging batteries with a Deans connector on them ! Thank you for helping me out !! 👍
Huh, I thought a 4wheel stadium truck was a truggy. In my head a stadium truck is 2WD and the wing is on the body vs a truggy thats 4wd with a wing mount.
There’s 2wd and 4wd Stadium trucks. For a long time it was just 2wd. But the Rustler 4x4 derived from the 2wd version is still a ST. The Vorteks is labeled as an ST too. Truggies were developed when they started lengthening buggies and running truck tires on them. The very first mass production model that was deemed a truggy was the Hot Bodies Lightning ST which I was the first person to ever review one. Shortly after the wing/ mount was added to that model and truggy really took off. OFNA probably gets credit for expanding the basher truggy category with the Mutilator.
@@rcdriver thank you for this comment, Greg! Dind know about the HB lightning. I would really like a video series from you where you delve into the nostalgic times of yesteryear and show us r/c development from the mid 90 to mid 2010. The very beginning is shown to death and everybody knows about the hornet or the rc10. But the years of evolution rather than revolution is something that's not shown that much.
I'm confused. From everything I've read online,, EVERYBODY copies Arrma. You know, those guys with 20+ vehicles but only 3 different platforms. Quick tire and body change and BAM! all new release 🤪
🤣😂🤣 the Chinese "bruiser" is actually waaaaaay better than the original and was $200 vs $1200. Oh yeah I read the reviews and bought it.. Super smooth And I'd do it again in a heartbeat copy or not,, Hey big guys, Stop over pricing your stuff (lesson learned? I think not)

Yup, lots of new people always coming into the hobby. Hopefully it helps.
From now on I'm no longer arguing I'm just sharing this. Thanks guy😂

What’s the name of the nascar model at the end?

I think the Losi Baja would be better with the Traxxas UDR class rather than with the slash style RCs
Greg said in the video that the baja is rather in its own class.
@@AsurasWrath164 but the udr is also squarely within the same category. Both scale trophy trucks. Directly comparable
