Don’t blame you a bit! That’s why axial needs to start actually making some changes to these things instead of trying to trick everyone with their “upgrades” and V2s lol
@@Sharp-Survival not really. The scx24 is more like 1/20 scale and not much different in size really. You could stretch & widen the scx24 to be the same dimensions as the Redcat and it still wouldn’t do well. Not if you leave the junk electronics they give you in it. It’s really more about the electronics and quality of axles etc on the Redcat just being better overall. Now the scx24 will whip the ascent if you start building it custom with the correct aftermarket or modded parts (axles, esc, motor, servo, etc) but out of the box the Redcat is just way better imo. You could actually put smaller tires on the Redcat (lower it a bit closer to the scx) and it would perform even better out of the box.
Definitely not as an rtr! This platform is still the best for custom builds but I won’t even buy an scx24 anymore. Just build them custom. They are going backwards with the tinted windows etc and making no real changes to the rtr. Crazy!
@ yeah, that’s where I’m at. Dump 100-200 extra in mods on my axials only to have a redcat keep up with them basically box stock. lol. I don’t regret it though as I like to tinker.
I don't think very many people give a crap about the new scx 24 releases anymore axial just basically refuses to update them in any meaningful way meanwhile Redcat and FMS are kicking the crap out of them. But I guess if people are still buying them they're going to keep selling them, I'm done buying them until they get a major redesign
100%! Glad to see others are getting wiser and boycotting these “upgraded” releases from axial. They changed the game with the scx24 but it’s time to actually improve it at this point instead of trying to trick people into buying more of the same ol crap.
I have an SCX-24 that I put a HardBody Cruiser body on. I painted it a 1975 OEM green. I added lights to the headlights, front marker lights and rear lights.
@ lol! I’ve seen’em:) I’m an rc addict but I’m also a broke rc addict. I built another 6x6 from all original scx10 parts. If you have some spare original axle housing you can build a bridge axle by using two output sides and flipping one of the housings halves. It’s not a perfect fit but it will work and it’s lasted me for a few years now. I can bash that 6x6 all I want
@royrodgers3296 Yeah that was the original way of doing 6x6 axles before they existed. Ebay has some cheap options for that now too. You can also run a 2nd drive shaft over the mid axle with a carrier bearing too
@ you seen that vivaton makes one for the scx6 but the upgrade is like $1,600. Add that to the $1,100 price tag and I can’t remember how much the treal axle housing cost and the powerhobby servo and wheels proline tires and antifoams. I’d like to make a big 6x6 but I gotta feed a family too lol
I bought a cr18p rushmore furitek 1 month ago (my traxxas is broken and repairing it is too expensive), I just took the axial base camp 5 days ago for my nephew. How to say .... Axial must seriously question itself with this, the scx24 is really not great at all, it is completely outdated and obsolete. Either they completely update it (brushless & co) or they release a 1/18 to finally compete with hpi, cr18 p, furitek, FMS ... etc. Traxxas is also starting to lose ground, especially on the price and basic brushed electronics. (they should also review their copy !!!) At this stage for me it is a useless toy because even by upgrading it it will cost you 2X more than a furitek. Avoid, don't buy this at all, unless it's for your children.
Thanks for showing. Oil filled shocks are nice. I put off the interieur on mine, to get the POG down same on the spare wheel and roof rack. But why has it still a hardbody? Lexan would be a great improvement.🤔
Just like everyone saying "x" crawler does a better job at crawling, it's a scale truck meant for scale enthusiasts. Competition for this crawler is Kyosho mini z 4x4 and FMS 1/24. Some guys are into performance, others are into realism and the scx hard bodies do a pretty good job at that. People would not be overlanding a full body land cruiser capable of 90* flex. I like it because I can make my crawler courses daily mild and still need skill to get the truck up them. Doing the same course easily over an over again because the crawler is so good at it would get super old for me.
@Pickleriiiiiick understandable, but I was talikng about my SCX24 Bronco (2022). And I also understand the point about scale vs. performance. But my micro even rolled over on simple inclines. And after some brass upgrades on the axles and reducing weight on the body, the issue stands. That is my point of access to a new version. I don't want a crawler going up onto 90° rocks. I just want it to work on 30 or 40°. In the end it's a crawler not a trailing car. If not, they shouldn't lable it as. And therefore (in my opinion) a lexan body would've made more sense than changing the design, and removing a few gramms with the interieur. There're still the spare tire and the roof rack. Another thing is, Axial created themselves a new and higher bench mark with the AX24. The new Bronco looks nice, but on the performance they stayed on the spot with the Bronco. And for sure I'm sick to invest the same money as for the car on upgrade parts to get the car going over more obstacles than some Lego bricks😉. It hasn't to be on high performance, only some thoughtful changes would be great. Oh, and one thing every SCX24 has: the rear axle housing (not steered) intends to bend even right out of the box. The plastic isn't strong enough. This would have been a great point to improve.🤔 This is all my mind, I know. This might be seen in another way. That's fine, too. But for me the new Bronco isn't what I hoped for.
Don't get me wrong,it looks nice but wish they would get rid of that motor. Every single 1 of my scx24's my 4 year old burnt that motor up doing light crawls. I do budget 180 size motors and never have any issues
Wearing a sponsored shirt, really? I built the Axial Wrathe two years ago and couldn't sell it fast enough. I have the smaller crawler, which came complete. That Wrathe build got me the experience I need to work on RC vehicles, but I pick and choose my favorites as far as what my preferences are as far as mostly bashing. I can say I am confident on anything I work on now. Including upgrading what I have.
How is it a sponsored shirt? I didn’t get anything for wearing it. Nobody asked me to wear it. It was an unclaimed shirt from a giveaway. It’s an Axial video and it’s appropriate for the video. That’s literally it.
I much prefer this to the TRXM version. I think the heritage edition looks best but mostly because this one isn't a Traxxass. I'm just completely over the mini craze and hate Traxxass either way.
They need to upgrade the motor, esc and servo on these things. Talk about wasting time here Axial🤦🏼♂️. Try to compete with the others at this point, they are leaving you in the dust
Cheap out on removing the interior. Shame that instead of an improvement it's just a china built rerelease. Axial flannel was the best thing from a ial in this video.
The Redcat ascent 1/18 blew my axial24’s out of the water, even after building them up. I’m done with the 1/24 axials.
Don’t blame you a bit! That’s why axial needs to start actually making some changes to these things instead of trying to trick everyone with their “upgrades” and V2s lol
I mean obviously the 1/18 is gonna perform better than a 1/24 it's two different things.

Axial needs a scx24 v2. They aren’t competitive anymore.

I live an hour from there but I checked them out due to your recommendation. They were able to fix my SCX6 Jeep. Thanks for the recommendation Greg!
Awesome!
@ My local hobby shop was unable to fix my ESC. I almost had to contact Horizon Hobby. I was pleasantly surprised when Newtown Hobbies fixed it!
I wish I could live in that shop😂 nice bronco, the red definitely pops! Enjoyed the vid 👍

Very nice. I am building an indoor course right now and I want another scx24. Haha
Sweet shop i would not leave empty handed 😂👍
Haha, especially that grave digger. 😮 Man that thing would be sooooo expensive 😂😂😂
I would have so much fun with that crawler course
The red bronco is based off the Heritage Edition Bronco IRL which has the white roof, white wheels, and white grill
Nerd 😆 I’m one to fam
Heritage Edition Bronco!! Nice!!
It looks beautiful but when will they upgrade the car’s motor, trans, links ? Everything is just the same
100%
Very nice! The new model looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
I wish axial would re release the umg10 6x6, jeep FC, and a new version scx6
I love my umg10 6x6 but the body has taken a beating so I leave it on the shelves mostly
@royrodgers3296 There's 2 new in box umg10 6x6's on ebay right now for $1900 lol. They're hard to find

Glad you mentioned the battery. The orange has that old school look. kinda digging it...
Cool looking bronco, looks way better with the two tone with the white wheels.
Yeah, the white really grew on me quick. Good looking rig.
Like the look of that edition Bronco! I wish my local hobby shop was that one! Love that crawler course...shoot all their courses lol!
Love the red one
The no more interior and tinted windows is a huge turn off. Otherwise I would have liked it. Old ones better for that reason
that ryft answers the ship of theseus
That’s a sweet crawler
That course is sweet too!
Really enjoyed the hobby shop tour, really nice shop
I welcome the change.Red and white look great. They should have changed the look of the front bumper.
Better off with the Ascent 18 in any of its flavors.
Thanks for the video, appreciate your work.
@@alans4281 Thanks for watching!!
These axial trucks always have oversized bodies… if it weren’t for that a lot of their scx24 models would look incredible!
Naw, sorry. Can’t hype up the same ol’ build. Time for Axial to do something NEW. They’ve revised this to death! 😢
Great video as always sir 💯
@@andyb9994 Thank YOU!

First, Nice video Greg. That's not a bad looking broco you got there. Love the content 👌
