Bro I don’t get why the gates are downplayed so bad in Shippuden.The first gate is basically lee x5 speed,so he should be shit tons of fast while even just opening gate one.

The Thing is in the first gate is only made for lee to perfom the front lotus. The only thing is that IT make's lee faster in his base is when take's off the weight on his legs seems like he didn't take them off. But when he opens the fourth gate his speed increase much more.
It's so sad that most of Lee's fights in Shippuden are from filler Kishimoto completely forgot about him 💀

Lee and Guy always took take care of the whole hand to hand vibe the most. The super serious vibe their transformations had set them apart as well.

Lee and Neji were counterparts of Naruto and Sasuke. Originally, those were the big 4 Genin of the leaf. Kishimoto decided to go a different way with it. That's not bad writing. I just wish he didn't. Both characters had so much potential.
I also wish that more of these reaction channels that cover Naruto would watch some of these old movies. They had some great fights.

I wouldn't say all that both of them are animated incredibly well and have some cool choreography and nice callbacks. They take some different approaches but are also kind of similar. I think they can both just be good for different reasons
I remember watching this fight scene when I was a kid like 6-7 years old my dad downloaded a episode of Naruto like this so nostalgic..
I really wish they would have kept growing Lee's character in shippuden. After he got hurt with Gara he was never really the same. He had his moments but the significance of his character wasn't as great unfortunately.

Rock lee is my favourite character in Naruto along with Neji. I still think Rock Lee will open a new gate and achieve a new form! The next level of spiritual and physical life energy, Taijutsu energy! This energy is not chakra and cannot be sensed like chakra. Combining all the gates will open the gate of Rebirth/Phoenix. Similar to a Phoenix, rising from death! After the gate of Death, will be the gate of Rebirth/ gate of the Phoenix/gate of Resurrection!

I like the idea but probably not gonna happen. The 8th Gate is called the Gate of Death for a reason because the user's blood is evaporating, giving the red aura around its user so the user will eventually die. Probably Lee is gonna find a way to use the 7th Gate + Drunken Fist or as a last hurrah, 8th Gate + Drunken Fist.

According to the wiki, his body was becoming "unstable" after ingesting that worm ooze thing but yeah. I felt the fight should have been longer but this was a movie and they probably need to cut the fight short. Plus not to sell Gitai short, they made Lee win by having going to 5th Gate and using Drunken Fist.
