@@gabrielchee8470 I think the reason they couldn't use it in Gen 8 was because Home doesn't have the Pokemon XD exclusive moves as legal, since it's been added to their TM lists they should get to keep it now. XD had a TON of unique moves for pokemon but most of them were either kinda bad(Refresh on a lot of pokemon) outclassed (Dig on Spinarak) or inconsistent(Tri Attack on Togepi). My personal favorite is Shadow Lugia when purified gets Psycho Boost, Deoxys's signature move.

I still find it hilarious that for articuno, their whole build for being competitive borderline looks like a timmy build with just all ice moves, ice terra and choice specs that flips around to being genius especially after the hail rework and the fact it loses it's flying type weakness
Brambleghast is my favourite here just because in a sea of some of the most power crept statlines and abilities the game has ever seen 1 Pokémon you would assume destined for mediocrity bravely ventures into some of the strongest team compositions known to man simply hoping that they ran their best spread and speed control moves which just happen by cosmic confluence to all be wind based
Honestly Brambleghast has been one my best on Showdown. Give that chap Spikes, Confuse Ray (nobody expects the gamble), Leech Seed and Power Whip. Muh spikey boi has been a godsend in my Ghost mono team.
I also would like to mention Slowbro and Slowking (they're pretty much the same Pokemon, just with their defensive stats swapped). They're plenty slow enough to be great at setting up Trick Room, can heal themselves with Regenerator and Slack Off while also healing their ally with Heal Pulse. They also have enough special attack to dish out some sizeable damage themselves.
@duckymomo7935 Because Indeedee and Gardevoir are way more frail (not to mention a bit too fast to be ideal for Trick Room) and it's better to use Hatterene as a sweeper rather than the Trick Room setter.
Snow switching into Abomasnow has done surprisingly well for me. Mostly because you don't expect the Abomasnow tbf. But Slowking has a fair few uses imo.
I got a shiny Hoppip not even an hour into Scarlet back when it first released. I held onto it for the entire game for good luck and I was surprised it held it's own since I never used one before and had always assumed Jumpluff was insanely weak

One pokemon that's definitely underrated af is iron jugulis People think that he's just Temu's version of hydreigon because he can't nuke stuff as his OG version does, when in reality it can be really good as a supporter with tailwind, taunt, being immune to prankster, etc The only problem that he has is flutter mane's existence, but that's the bane of every Pokémon player
Swallot used to have a mini-niche in gen 9 OU. Back when the gen 9 OU was new there were plenty of pokemon that relied on draining moves in order to stay healthy. Anihilape and palafin used drain punch. Amoongus used giga drain and occassionally leech seed. And hatterene used drain kiss. Swallot was the only pokemon with the liquid ooze ability meaning that it had a form of passive damage against them. Right now it is completely unusable.

I love Jumpluff. I remember running it a few times through story, but it wasn't until playing HGSS that it really clicked how much is behind the surface on that mon.

Yep, the big four of the weather wars for sand, sun, rain, and (at the time) hail were Tyranitar (Sand Stream) , Ninetales(Drought), Politoed (Drizzle), and Abomasnow (Snow Warning). Any other non-legendary users have only got it after gen 5, tho i do understand. If there were any more than just one mon for each weather, it wouldnt necessarily create variety but instead one mon would be more consistent or the favorite over the other. And you can kinda tell considering the newest weather setters Torkoal and Pelipper have a lot more uses and really outshine Ninetailes and Abomasnow, and Alolan Ninetales seems to outshine Abomasnow

I think Mind's Eye only works with like, the evasiveness stat that can be boosted with Double Team/Minimize and dropped with Sweet Scent/etc, whereas Snow Cloak passively raises it like... in the background without giving it a +1 to evasiveness. sorta similar to how Quark Drive and Protosynthesis raise a paradox pokémon's highest stat without the actual stat boost animation popping up

both defenses, yes. also isn't a flat +50% like the diagram shows either, since the multiplier applies to the actual stat and not the base stat
