I was 64 on Saturday 1st April 2023. I remember driving home late at night in 1981, had dropped off my then girl friend at the time after a few pints as you did back then. This song just seemed to echo through the car from my stereo cassette player. Full moon in the sky driving along the country roads home it was so surreal. I was so young back then and so full of life, great days.😎
Yeah, You go wanting 12 inch items today they'll either say 'you're a pervert or nympho( if female) or you'll be told ''we don't sell pizzas here?'' lol
Wow! I don't think I heard this song before. It is filled with a beautiful energy. As always with B-Movie, the bass playing is phenomenal, and so are the keyboards. All great players. I love this band very much and I wish there was some documentary or cd/dvd revision with quality videos, rare tracks, great liner notes, present-day interviews. etc. Long live B-Movie.
Luv this song and along with it all the GEMS thats been long Forgotten, or Lost or otherwise wiped from the collective librabry of precious musical records.
Am 6 yrs behind u but can remember seeing them live in Pompey then Brighton the following night…one of my favourite bands courtesy of John Peel & Annie Nightingale…unsung heroes… I can remember forking out £50 on a limited edition Marilyn Dreams!!! Memories ☺️
This an early and better version, but I first came across them on the only full album, Forever Running. Compared to most post-punk, it stands up well as a track. A bit of Skids and Magazine. Worth a listen.
great to see B-Movie are playing LONDON - Saturday 15th March 2014 @ Elecktrowerkz & BIRMINGHAM - Saturday 03rd May 2014 @ The Cross in Moseley …………can't wait :)
This 'for' me is the perfect tribute 'from the 80s Generation' for the fallen of the great war as we prepare to remember a century of ' another world war that soon followed along with all the little proxy wars such as Vietnam and Korea along with The Balkans and Middle eastern conflicts etc. we have these occasions to remind ourselves that we all love peace but we kinda find it hard too come by, also maybe its because sending in B-52s or a carrier battle group is easier than telling those who oppose us ''Look' now we need to meet around a table because then we can ask you how you'd feel about Bagedad or Pheog Yang vanishing in a mushroom cloud?'' And this band B-Movie are from my neck of the woods in Notts, (and i'm proud of that)_ I feel they're an outfit who were unlucky not to get the breaks they deserved back in the day, after all ' their hits such as 'Nowhere Girl and this one' were as good as any New Wave stuff around at the time?
@@stephenroche5107 British imperialism, some imperialism when the world welcomed us with open arms and we did it with a tiny army of volunteers is the proof of that? If we'd had to scrap with where we set foot we'd never have succeeded. We didnt subjugate, we dazzled and amazed with our knowledge and occupied with holding the natives spellbound who looked at us in awe of our British knowhow afterall we gave the world the industrial revolution and when we came to grant colonies independence, you know what they asked us? Great song❤
A classic! Nowhere Girl 12” is another great B-Movie track. Thanks for sharing
Cuando la música tenía memoria y era real, hoy no queda nada de esos buenos tiempos.

I remember this track , once I heard the chorus it came to me. Wow it's been years .
The bassline is what makes this version so awesome.
But I can still play this song loud and dance like no one is watching... CeazAmaze
I saw them supporting Comsat Angels on June 30 1981
Got one still cherish my young days
What a beautiful sound of the drum

One class track that should have got this band fuller recognition - unfortunately that did not transpire as far as I know:
I love b movie band
Great music

The empire was a disaster for the conquered nations. India had today's equivalent of £5 trillion stolen from her...

Good version (source?) but I liked the one John Peel played into his Festive Fifty of 1981
the faint - "southern belles in london sing" totally ripped this song off.
Stat is from shirebrook lived over from welfare x
Nowhere girl was also o good hit
OMG...
must be Camerons fans,a generation lost yet torries celebrate
celebrate the end as we do
♡
Not a patch on the original 7” release.
This is the original version. One of the 5 tracks on the " b side" of the original Nowhere Girl.
Sh
ould re-release for the 1914-2014 anniversary
Unusual...WW1
I still have the single somewhere
Fabulous song though sadly it wasn’t a commercial hit. Always thought they had a crap band name. Happy days in the early 1980s.
☺
Love that song, but the main parts do not fit together
Reminds me of Mike Oldfield's way, he must have been an influence of theirs
Yes - lots of 12 inch Eater single - same duration as the 7 inch 😂
where's this version from?
Break dance practice, UA-cam
This sounds more like a demo track
Best e er
Tab or chord progression?
Sorry but is there a "best version" of this song????
Who killed Norma Jean?

Просто шлягер!
This one isn’t the best I like the intro but it sounds somewhat like it’s live or something the other is better quality
The hat in the hat knows nothing about that so it diddn't cat. U didnt that see cat ? U didbt GOOD
The Synthesizer is too QUIET!!! And the singer...
He can sing it better.
You can’t speak English
Blue monday comment made this for ne I am officially important to my children
No, this isn't the best version, it's bloated and indulgent and has had most of the life sucked out of it.
It is the original version...
Most def not best version
