Can anyone appreciate the cameraman for capturing the every element of that street
going through everyone as if he was Jesus walking over water... and sticking the camera in everyone's face.
(sorry... I appreciate the capture... the cameraman, not that much.)
Right? The night... I can just imagine the temperature, the crowd... just Pink Floyd on the street. :)
I do- Holy men playing holy music in the holy city-
Yeah except he literally gets waaaaay up in the musicians' personal space and then spends the duration of the song standing in between the crowd and the band acting like a jackass and playing with his camera. As an artist who is frequently filmed and photographed while i work, i can vouch beyond any question that this is the most obnoxious kind of camerawork.
totally non sense.
I want to live in a place where random people on the street all know the lyrics to Pink Floyd.
Adam Jackson I was in Jerusalem twice. In 1986 and again in 2008. Both times I saw 2 different people playing Floyd. Both electric and acoustic but never both like this video.
Mesmerizing video. Thank you so much for shooting and sharing. Loved every dot of it....
Ummm ... its a song about diamonds.. isn’t it Israels national anthem?
Adam Jackson - You probably are.

This is why the internet is awesome. I had never been to Jerusalem before I saw this, and now I have experienced this perfect moment on this perfect night, and all from the comfort of my couch. If there is any magic in this world at all, surely it exists in music!

I am sitting on my deck. It’s 11:10pm on July 1 2020. Perfect night along the southern shore of Lake Ontario. Looking up into the clear dark sky. Saturn and Jupiter aligned. And I’m listening to two gentlemen rocking Floyd from a sidewalk in Jerusalem from nearly seven years ago. Despite the madness in the world there is beauty still. Savor these moments. Peace.

You, sir, are a blessed man.
A few months ago I was in Jerusalem, almost the same exact spot as this location, when I see these 2 guys playing Stairway. I immediately recognized who these guys were bc of this video. Afterwards they played Wish You Were Here, and then the younger guy played a song by himself and I started talking to the older guy. I told him abt my love of Pink Floyd and how I recognized him from this vid and how incredible it is too see to Hasidic guys playing Floyd in a country that Waters has made clear that his music isn’t welcome in. I asked him to play a Floyd song. He said “I’ll surprise you” and they played a shorter version of Echoes (which is my favorite Floyd song). It was just a class act by the guys and I gave them a nice fat tip.

I wish they had been there when I visited. They're Breslav (can tell by the type of peyas, the curls they have.) They believe that music is a special way to appreciate G-d, to pray through the sounds. I feel the spirituality in his every note, their love for G-d comes through every beautiful pluck.
Imagine walking there as a westerner, in a country so far away from home and you suddenly hear those famous notes at the beginning. I would feel at home right away.
'Westerner' ? Dude, these people are just regular white people ! They look, act feel and talk the same way !

The reverb, the delay, the tuning, this guys are amazing.
Hello, I wonder, do you know how he achieves the sound in the beginning where he imitates the synthesizer beautifully? I see he does vibrato but something else he tweaks maybe or adds an effect, he goes back into it around the middle of the song.
@@VladimirV1 it is called a swell I think. You play a string with a volume off or low, and right as you pluck it, you raise the volume on the knob with your pinky for example. Then as you play another one, you lower the volume and back again. Jeff Beck was famous for using this technique.

Love, peace & and respect for all people no matter which country or religion or something else. Greetings from Germany.
@@itsok5954 I think religion came to be a thing because of psychedelics. i remember the time i was tripping and thinking about where consciousness comes from and i got stuck in a thought loop that took me to a place where i felt what i can only describe as god. the weird thing is im not religious at all. it makes sense since magic mushrooms grow in the wild all over the world so at some point in time people would eat these simply because their stomachs were growling, then an hour later they'd have an outer worldly experience with no language that could explain what happened or what they experienced.

Certainly won’t be performed by Roger Waters, as he refuses to play for Apartheid regimes, same was true of Peter Tosh as so give a listen to “Equal Rights” were he specifically mentions Palestine.
