A few months ago I was in Jerusalem, almost the same exact spot as this location, when I see these 2 guys playing Stairway. I immediately recognized who these guys were bc of this video. Afterwards they played Wish You Were Here, and then the younger guy played a song by himself and I started talking to the older guy. I told him abt my love of Pink Floyd and how I recognized him from this vid and how incredible it is too see to Hasidic guys playing Floyd in a country that Waters has made clear that his music isn’t welcome in. I asked him to play a Floyd song. He said “I’ll surprise you” and they played a shorter version of Echoes (which is my favorite Floyd song). It was just a class act by the guys and I gave them a nice fat tip.

This is the song I've lived my life by. Back in the 60s I only heard the instrumentation, couldn't discern the words, but I knew then, they are important. 61yo ..... same I laid on the floor of my bedroom and played it half a dozen times the first night....then must have been more than 20 times the first weekend. It was totally a new sound, and mesmerizing from the outset. The only other song that got me the same way was Riders on the Storm.
I never thought anyone but David Gilmore could play this song with such emotion. An amazing performance and beautiful scene. Thank you for capturing this one of a kind moment.
This feels like a performance not just musicians covering a song. The lead guitarist does a better job than just about any cover on UA-cam. He captures the tone and essence, doesn't try to duplicate it note for note or fake it. The duo know the song performance is not to be confused with the song itself. They succeed because they are that good and the audience responds accordingly.
o0Ampy0o I agree he has a great touch and unique beautiful tone. To me, though, he rushes the first 6 minutes until he finds his groove and actually 'sits in that pocket'. Not saying I could do any better though! Maybe he's just nervous...I sure would be. Well done my brothers from another mother!
A lot of amateur musicians don't understand that less is more. Attempting to recreate exactly what's in the original recording often comes at the expense of the soul of music. Music like this is absolutely about the emotion rather than the notes. These guys understand that.

These guys achieved close to the same level of fullness of the original on 2 guitars. Thats impressive. Pink Floyd is a hard band to cover. These guys covered it well and even sang in the same register as it was originally sang. It's so well done I was honestly surprised by how well it was done.
They've done one hell of a job, haven't they? To get that full sound is quite an achievement with a full band in a studio let alone 2 guys on a street with a couple of guitars. So well done
Something hauntingly beautiful about this. Prob my most fav Pink Floyd song...on a nice quiet evening in a part of the world that is in so much turmoil right now. RYAAAAAAAAN Boomer or not. It's irrelevant !! Today most crap is made with auto tune, sampling, synths, lip sync, etc, etc. On top of that, most don't know how to play any musical instruments. Lol.😅
It pity, there is no drummer
Exactly
@@tazzz69dazzermind35 bullshit. Do you even know how much work goes into making even todays songs? Maybe they cant do crazy solos on guitars, but there is a lot of other stuff you have to learn and its hard aswell. So yup, boomer
Finally I got recommended something to enjoy!!! I genuinely hope and pray everyone here is still OK.
Hearing this at night in Jerusalem live is now top of my bucket list
The Hacidim really know how to rock.
Ashley Monseen I definitely want to go to Jerusalem before I kick the bucket 😃🇦🇺🌈
Ashley Monseen ~ Me too!!!!✌🏼💗🐶
@Chris Butler yeah pink Floyd are British and had the world's biggest we empire til the Americans revolted and now that one is bigger, so your point is? Human history is nothing but one conquest after another. It's the only thing that all human being s have in common
Ashley Monseen not on roger's shift. Israel is a stolen territory! Free palestine
Shine On You Crazy Diamond is so beautiful it always brings a tear to my eye. This is proof that music is universal. It knows no race, no boundaries, no religion, just love and beauty.
Quand les gens veulent s aimer ce est beau...❤
No not music, some music. Shine certainly has a vast appeal
Great performance, totally true to the original, almost unbelievable that two guys could do this alone.
same excellence with this cover by two dudes, of Toto's Africa, if interested.

This is as good as UA-cam gets: a beautiful cover in a bustling city square, with me coming to the realization that Israelites know their Floyd. Amazing!
This is the song I've lived my life by. Back in the 60s I only heard the instrumentation, couldn't discern the words, but I knew then, they are important. The Who's Tommy Pinball Wizard, deaf dumb and blind but he sure played a mean pinball. That's me. I wore out my welcome with random precision, rode the steel beam 😜 And, I still shine like the diamond 💎 in the ruff I think... Namaste
@@janicefoehner3988 I first heard “Dark Side of the Moon” in high school in the 1990s, and it forever changed the trajectory of my taste in music. I’m 47 now, I’ve been a Deadhead for 30 years and I’ve been to hundreds of shows across many genres.
Music fills my soul too, sister! ✌️❤️
71yo. Yet I can still remember when I first bought this album and played it on my record player. I was blown away, and still am!
Vinyl cool
And you sir are the coolest 71 year old I think I have ever met.
I beat you by two years I’m 73 and still have my vinyl LP. These guys brought tears to my eyes.
I have one of their concerts but since I'm only 60 it's on DVD.
61yo ..... same
I laid on the floor of my bedroom and played it half a dozen times the first night....then must have been more than 20 times the first weekend. It was totally a new sound, and mesmerizing from the outset.
The only other song that got me the same way was Riders on the Storm.
I never thought anyone but David Gilmore could play this song with such emotion. An amazing performance and beautiful scene. Thank you for capturing this one of a kind moment.
looking on UA-cam at METAL GIRLS REACT TO PINK FLOYD THANKS
@@euronymous2487 NO
This feels like a performance not just musicians covering a song. The lead guitarist does a better job than just about any cover on UA-cam. He captures the tone and essence, doesn't try to duplicate it note for note or fake it. The duo know the song performance is not to be confused with the song itself. They succeed because they are that good and the audience responds accordingly.
o0Ampy0o his voice too
o0Ampy0o I agree he has a great touch and unique beautiful tone.
These guys understand that.
o0Ampy0o notice how many youtube guitarists have comments disabled. Coincidence??
Hard thing to do but they nailed it
Hits hard knowing some of these music fans and families might not even be here this day 😢 beautiful cover
💔
And for solid 10 minutes, everyone in the video and watching the video forgot how hectic life can be and just had a peaceful moment with themselves.

@@4runningaway417 hahaha. okay. got it.
The most surprising cover of Shine on your crazy diamond I ever saw, and a proof if necessary of the universality of music!
Here February 2021, peace be with everyone.
Peace be with you brother.
Shalom!
Peace indeed
Something hauntingly beautiful about this. Prob my most fav Pink Floyd song...on a nice quiet evening in a part of the world that is in so much turmoil right now. People singing along with the words that I would never think knew the words or remember them. Spent many a green evening listening to this thru headphones, and remember when the album was released when I was all but 6 years old. My true PF fans will know the story behind the song like I do
2:59 the 4 most iconic notes in music history
6:24 did it for me
and at 07:32
Omg if the drums came in... would have been that much more epic :)
It's the ambient noise that happens at the same time that makes if feel so much more like a pink Floyd recording too
I swear I’ll might just play that every time I pick up a guitar for warm up
I absolutely love it. To watch Jewish men in Jerusalem playing and singing Pink Floyd and to see all the people from different ethnic backgrounds singing along brought tears to my eyes. If only there was unity and coming together of all nations with peace like what is shown here, what a wonderful World it would be.Thank you for the beautiful video. Shalom from USA Btw, 2:15 shot of the moon is beautiful and the dog at the end sitting there just like us humans showing even food for the doggies soul.
Well , that's the magic of Jerusalem.

People from different ethnic backgrounds??!!

Holy shit, what a beautiful performance. It was perfectly complemented by the atmosphere of the night. Almost as if the sun set on the day just so they could perform this song. All in all, just flawless.

Excuse my language, but fuck me! Oh my God seriously! I pray to God, that at least one of the members of Pink Floyd have heard this rendition. These men are astounding musicians. Talk about doing a song justice. Phenomenal just phenomenal.

It’s like hearing a dog meow, or a cat bark, you know what I mean?…. This is freaking Awesome! I’m a Floyd head, from the 70’s. This is blowing my damn mind. Excuse me, while I pick up my jaw from the floor. A total random stranger at that! But you know, it proves a big point, some music, well, it influences people from all over. Regardless of language, race, whatever… music is a feeling. Especially, Pink Floyd. Just when I thought I had seen everything…. A big thank you.

ALL the divisions between people are illusions, carefully constructed by those who stand to gain some or other opulence like wealth, power, fame etc. They 'succeed' when we 'fail' to discern fact from fiction.
Beautiful at so many levels. This is why music is important.
