It's safe to say Pink Floyd will be blowing minds centuries from now, they are infinity squared.
May as well do the next song on the album. The Great Gig in the Sky.
Shit I just begged him to do Great Gig in the Sky...literally
YES!! GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!
Gilmore's solo between verses is one of my ALL time favorites. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pretty much sheer perfection.
If you don’t listen to this album from beginning to end you are doing yourself a disservice sir. It’s a piece of art that’s supposed to be enjoyed in its totality. Great content man 👍
I second that. It was conceived as a single piece. Think of it as one long track with different 'moods'.
Well if I want to get technical it’s side A and side B since it was originally on vinyl. Side A ends with “great gig in the sky” and side B starts with “money” so there is a sort of forced intermission if you listen on vinyl.
@@michaellorden8150 I just bought a brand new album the other day and I felt so much joy
taking it out of the jacket and sleeve to play it on a record player. There's nothing like it.
Get the album, turn down the lights, put on your headphones and listen to the whole thing from start to finish without a break. You won't regret it.
This is the best advise that I have ever heard.
Absolutely true. It's an experience
The brilliant engineering of Alan Parsons gave this album it's punch...He put Pink Floyd on the Map...This album changed my life in 1973, 8th grade, it gave me an ear for the profound.
There material should be preserved in a museum
As I get older....I actually cry when I listen to this album....so deeply meaningful...I am crying now....crap...home....I like to be here.....
Home's great, fortunately
Hey remember 8 track? First time for me was a laser disc at my cuz' s. Really need the whole LP !!!
Pink Floyd albums are meant to be listened through their entirety.
Used to start DSOTM when I got in my car to go to work, it finished when I pulled onto site. How good is that? My boss asked how long does it take to get to work? I said Pink Floyd time
Hahahahahah
You need to hear "Great Gig in the Sky" off of the Dark Side of the Moon album. It's about death and the hereafter. One of Pink Floyds' most iconic songs! Love your reactions!
100%
Dark Side of the Moon is a ''rock opera' where each song leads into the next song. First song on the album contains snippets of songs that follow. At the end of this song "Time" you have the transition to the next song called "Great Gig in the Sky", an exceptional song that flows from this song. So best way to hear Time or Great Gig in the Sky is play them together, one after the other. Indeed, that is the best way to listen to Dark Side of the Moon, start to finish.
There is a natural break on Dark Side of the Moon between side 1 and side 2 with Great Gig in the Sky being end of side 1 and the song "Money' being the beginning of side 2.
The one constant with this song: you WILL close your eyes and go on a journey.
Each Floyd song is a journey in itself 🌚🌛✨🎶
Seeing you with your eyes closed just letting the music take you on the journey shows that you really do get it
Nice to see.
And spending an hour or so taking in the whole Dark Side of the Moon album would be time well spent IMO.
Time's short, great music is a good way to spend it.
Yes, the best way is "Dark Side Of The Moon", the whole album. If not the next song to do is "The Great Gig In The Sky",
Also the whole album, "Wish You Were Here". Have fun going down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. Welcome To the Machine.
Pink Floyd - Animals album, Dark Side of the Moon album, The Wall album
Songs: Money, Brain Damage, Sorrow (Pulse Live), Learning to Fly, Pigs ( 3 different ones), Welcome to the Machine, Wish You Were Here, Dogs, Sheep, Mother (live covid version by Roger Waters), Comfortably Numb, etc...
To me, Time tells the story of a life coming full circle.
It tells the story of a person who is young and carefree, ticking away the moments that make a dull day. Looking for inspiration or something to show them the way. They are bored and tired of staying home and lying in the sunshine, but they are young and there is time to kill today. Then they realize with a start that time is passing and they need to chase the metaphorical sun and make something of themselves. But no matter how hard they run after their dream, there is always something more to chase. They make plans to make their mark on the world but it doesn't turn out the way they want. Then fast forward in their life after all the time chasing the dream when they realize the home they left was the key the whole time. It gives solace to the soul and they like to be there when they can. The tolling of the iron bell speaks of death and the funeral of the individual when the final curtain falls.
I hear a lot of people say that the song is a warning about wasting time. While that is a valid interpretation of the lyrics, the way I take it is is a warning to be careful what you wish for. Want what you have and appreciate it because it won't be here forever and neither will you. Love like there is no tomorrow because one day you will be right. It is not a song to be sad about to me. It is a song to help you celebrate where you are, who you are, who you are with, and where you are at.
Your reactions are so, so respectful...you have a maturity about you, patience...you let the artists do their thing...and comment after.
That said, your facial reactions tell the tale..no words needed... good on you, young man
Song after this on the LP is Great Gig in the Sky... 100% recommended by this old man
Please, I’m begging... your reactions give hope...react to Great Gig in the Sky, pretty please...
"Dark Side of the Moon" has charted for 957 weeks in total on Billboard. The album has sold 45 million copies - one of the best selling albums of all time worldwide. It was selected for preservation in the United States National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress for being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". It's one of the landmark records in rock music history. Pink Floyd has always been one of the creative giants of rock music. I hope you don't get lost in the rabbit hole...!
Now that you've done two tracks off Dark Side of the Moon, you should do the entire album in one sitting. You can edit it in Three or Four parts. Make sure you have the lyrics close by. Watch your Channel Blow up...!!! Peace
Great Idea thanks
Also Hats off to their sound engineer without him this album wouldn't sound the way it does thanks Mr Alan Parsons
I have liked and subscribed to follow your journey down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. This band is the GOAT as they are pioneers of music like no other band before or since. Their legacy and influence across the music industry are massive. Unlike performers today, who focus on singles, Pink Floyd wrote albums, designed to be listened to (over and over again) from start to finish to fully appreciate the concepts they discuss. And their concepts are big, wide and deep. Here is a list of the five essential Pink Floyd songs to react to:
1. The Great Gig In The Sky (The Dark Side of the Moon - 1973)
2. Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Parts I-V (Wish You Were Here - 1975)
3. Dogs (Animals - 1977)
4. Hey You (The Wall - 1979)
5. Echoes (Meddle - 1971) - This should be followed up by Echoes - Part 1 Live in Pompeii (1972)
ok yeah this is an epic piece of music i’ll admit. listening to the whole album in one run while high is an absolute must.
Such an epic work of art - We are truly blessed to have lived in the same TIME period as Pink Floyd
like the core 7 Moody Blues albums, Pink Floyd's albums need to be listened to from end to end
GREAT GIG IN THE SKY!!!
Echoes Live at Pompeii parts #1 and #2
Pink Floyd, "Great Gig in The Sky", "Money", "Have a cigar", "Breathe (In The Air)", "Dogs", "Us and Them". React to those just for starters.
Yes that a good start,
Thats how to react to Floyd. The gals on backing vocals make it almost a religious experience. Maybe it is to some.
It's just one British woman singing background vocals.
@@MCGguitar698 I love when they use usually 3 in concert. Thank's for the info.
@@MCGguitar698 Doris Troy, Leslie Duncan, Barry St. John...Clare Torrey is solely responsible for Great Gig.
2:47 that moment when you stop trynig to find the song.. and the song find you :) ... Pink Floyds a trip, let it take you away!!!
deeping into the rabbit hole at 4:22
I wonder if your 19 year old self heard Not Now John (1983) and Another Brick in The Wall (1979) from Pink Floyd, you’d be more enthusiastic for the band back then. This band has a super diverse musical discography.
The way you described Pink Floyd at the beginning- that’s how I feel.... love them
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
when that lead starts my entire back gets this weird chill & goosebumps, everytime
Oh yeah, Biz. The whole "Dark Side of the Moon" is a goddang masterpiece, anyone will tell you. Put on the headphones, sit back with your preferred beverage and just chill and take in the perfection. "The Wall" is another venture. Piece of art. Double album. They actually made a movie based on it, using all the songs, and the critics of all people loved it. I do too1
Listen to the entire Dark Side of the Moon album in one sitting, even on your own, to get the whole experience.
I walked 3 miles at night in a blizzard to buy this album. I never looked back, onward through the fog.
I still play this album many times each year. I've worn out many copies, because I still prefer to listen to it on Vinyl.
@@patclark3024 yeah I miss my Thorens with Shure V-15, but I still have my Klipsch La Scala’s.🎶
Let me guess - Buffalo?
@@BigfootAnthropologist How in the world did you know ???
@@tinypurplefishesrunlaughin8052 Walking 3 miles in a blizzard in the 1970s gave it away. Let me guess again. Record Theater?
Go thru the album from start to finish - the way it's meant to be heard...
I think you would love , Situation by The Jeff Beck Group. Got the feeling is also great.
Smoking bongs and playing the shit outta this and led zep houses of the holy wish I was 17 again great times
🎧. Music to smoke to ☮️💜
Pink Floyd has gotten me through some rough times. I just put on DSOTM and chill out, and it really makes all the little aggravations go away. I actually think you should play the whole DSOTM album in one sitting, but if you can't, Us and Them, The Great Gig in the Sky, or Brain Damage/Eclipse. Or Welcome To the Machine, Have a Cigar, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, or Wish You Were Here from Wish You Were Here. Hey You, from The Wall. There's just too many great songs to list, but those are a good start, lol
Masterwork
As a fresh subscriber might I suggest that when you're ready for a "DEEP" Pink Floyd-ian rabbit hole, you should do a reaction to "Dogs"from the Animals album...Digging your reaction, and your discovery of music I grew up on....
Pink Floyd's song "Sheep" has quite the "cosmic groove"😉🤙🎵🎶🔊🎧🎸🎹🥁🐑
Maybe something was cut off, but I didn’t hear what you thought of it. Did you like it? It’s one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs.
Not much of a reaction.
First off Great reaction.. Second dont worry what the diehards say Were here to see your reaction. We have heard this song hundreds of times.. Pause it whenever you want. We want to know what your feeling.. Pink Floyd intros are the way they are to put you in the mood they want you in. .Wait till you do Dogs lol
Best song on the album, imo.
This is how you do Pink Floyd. You don’t listen. You experience it. Feel the music like this man is.
That's the way!!!!
Before you do the album Dark Side of the Moon, here's two track Suggestions. Most Pink FLoyd fans would agree "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" pt 1-V is one of their MOST EPIC tracks and or you can do "Welcome to the Machine". Both are GUARANTEED to blow your mind. Make sure you have the lyrics on hand to fully grasp the meaning. Peace Brother....
This song is so funky and on point
also, "Any Colour You Like" an instrumental is a journeeeeeey.
Get this album, your favorite adult beverage, twist a fat boy, relax in your favorite chair, put on the headphones, turn it up, have a drink, dim the lights, take a hit, close your eyes and prepare to take a journey like you've never known before. It's the ONLY way to travel. Welcome to the rabbit hole my brother...PEACE! (The entire album from first note to last)
That dont sound too bad
Just continue the album: next is Great Gig in the Sky; you'll be stunned!
At some point I would love to hear you react to anything with Joe Walsh, either with James Gang or on his own. Loved "Funk #49 and "Walk Away" by James Gang and "Rocky Mountain Way" by Joe Walsh. (By the way, I really enjoy your reactions)
Just subbed. Only seen couple of your vids in last 20 or so mins haha. Great reactions man. Loved the simple man Lynyrd skynyrd and war pigs sabbath ones. Gonna see bad company one next.
Thanks for the subb 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thumbs-up number 995. Do I get a prize now?
Lol congrats 🙌🏾🙌🏾
This guy gets it
Only one gal singing back up and her name is Claire Torry and she was the shit her voice just check out the great gig in the sky
Clare sang The Great Gig in the Sky. Other women sang the backup parts. Peace
When listening to TIME , you also have to listen to The Great Gig In The Sky. They are 2 songs in 1 . Pink Floyd has for the most part done all their albums like that . Just one non stop complete song . It's as if you're reading a book . You can't just read one chapter . You have to read the whole story to understand it .
you seem cool man.... this is a GREAT album to listen too.... so go listen my friend... you can react after.... you dont need our permission... why would you? i will watch your reaCTIONS AND LISTEN TO YOUR COMMENTS regardless of your first or second time watching something.... you do you my friend.... i will watch... peace
You listen to this album uninterrupted from beginning to end.
If you haven't heard Dogs from the Animals album, that's a must!!!! It's an experience!
The most meaningful lyrics ever penned....
I think you should do a The Wall review, ofc it’d take various eps, but really the story behind the album and the topics it curcundates arround really makes it worth it
Pls react to SB19 WHAT MUSIC VIDEO
Dark Side of the Moon is the story of a person's journey through life. When you get to the last song, Eclipse, the key is: the moon is the ego, the Sun is your idea of the universe or God. Listen to the album in one sitting, beginning to end.
Your interpretation. There are many... and they're all wrong and they're all right. :)
This song specifically opens spiritual doorways...I see it in most reactor folks.
That last little section makes more sense in the context of the whole album, and you really have to just segue into Great Gig in the Sky next.
4:25 Ahh, that grimace signifying “How good is this damn music!” Enjoy your journey with Pink Floyd, as I have. Thank you for your truly honest reactions. ☑️
Wait until you hear Great Gig In The Sky which is the next song. Listen to the album version with one Clare Tory doing all of the female vocals and not the live version where it took 3 to do what she did.
We have always been pretty Good Little old England and Turning out Incredible Trail blazing bands !! Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd , The Rolling Stones, The Who , Oh and The Beetles to name but a Few !! 👍🏻👍🏻
Pink Floyd has the unique ability to open up your mind and let your inner thoughts guide you through the music. It's hypnotizing. One bit of advice I have for you is to listen and react to their music. I recommend not watching any of their animated videos. To me, they detract from what the music can paint in your own head.
Classic Pink Floyd! 👍🔥🎸
This put you out in the galaxy somewhere hahaha.
Intergalactic travel ...⭐🌙🔥one of my all-time favorite songs fs
the song after this on the album, "The Great Gig in the Sky" is great and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (studio) Parts I - V and then later Parts VI - IX is another journey you must take.
🙋🏿♀️ Great Gig in The Sky, 🙏🏿 please & 😚thank you! 🍿🐰
DO not forget the early years of the Floyd with Syd Barret. (R.I.P.) Before Dark Side Of The Moon.
I feel sorry for all of you reactors out there. Growing up in the 60's, 70's and 80's all of this amazing music was played on the radio... wasn't genre driven back then, just damn good music. Your biggest decision was to listen to AM or FM. You truly missed out.
Their concert in Venice was epic also the Pulse Tour which I was at.amazing.
As other people have requested the next track on this album is The Great Gig in the sky. It will change your life.
I don’t understand how you have adds on UA-cam. It’s ten bucks for premium for a month.
At least you didn't stop the song. Never stop a pinkfloyd song. That's a pinkfloyd crime. Good reaction video. That's the problem with most reaction videos people stop the song's and try to break it down. And don't know shit about what they are talking about.
Well done, sir. You listened all the way thru without pausing. Rome is the only other reactor that I've seen do that. You reacted with your facial expressions which is one secret to doing reactions well. Most reactors spend way too much time pausing the song and talking too much. I have an offer for you. I have been compiling a list of great songs for decades. My list is like finding a box of gold. I've got songs that will make you laugh, cry, sing along, dance and feed your mind and soul. Many of my suggestions are being overlooked by other reactors. If you want, I would love to send you some examples to your Instagram if you have that. I believe my songs would set you apart from the crowd. All I need is a response to this comment and I'll start sending them. Video or studio versions, I've got them both. I want to be your vip subscriber who you can turn to for great material. I dont know a lot about many things but i know good music very well. What do you think? Sound good? I'm your newest subscriber from Illinois and I hit the bell and like button. Thanks for considering my offer. To show you I am the real deal I'll give you one fantastic song here in the comments. Gemini Dream by The Moody Blues.
Young people, regret is way worse than failure. Take chances in life.
This Album stayed on the charts for decades
if you're really interested in just putting on a floyd album and listening the way through, it doesn't get much better than "Animals"
The older you get, the faster time goes by, and then...it's over, and you find yourself wishing for just a little more time, wondering where it went, and regretting all the things you didn't do.
“10 years have gone behind you” hah more like 40+ years 😮
The album Animals has some great tracks to groove on. Dogs is the best song from this album, Period.
Do a whole album review!
This album is pretty amazing to listen to as a whole as other people have mentioned, but I would argue that their "Animals" album is better listening in from start to finish.
Pink Floyd, "Dogs" a journey !!!
There's Real Music and There's Head Music :D
My question remains: How and why does one "remaster" a masterpiece?
Probably just cleaning up the sound because the recording is old.
@@jarbeck1 This, usually. Go back to the source recordings...clean them up....maybe brighten a tone here and there...in general, fine-tune the mix...fix any nagging, if minor, channel balance issues...add or remove tracks with the benefit of hindsight. There's always SOMETHING that musicians will want to go back and tinker further with. Speaking as a designer, there's pretty much never a point when an artist thinks a piece is "done" and/or "perfect" - only a point when they're forced to release a work into the world because of deadlines or contracts or whatnot.
You seem to be confusing the song itself with the physical recording of said song.
Remastering music is done to account for the different qualities and attributes of media. The process for mixing for vinyl in can be remastered to sound better on media such as CDs and mp3.
On edit: Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remaster#Remastering
"For example, a vinyl LP - originally pressed from a worn-out pressing master many tape generations removed from the "original" master recording - could be remastered and re-pressed from a better-condition tape. All CDs created from analog sources are technically digitally remastered."
@@d4mdcykey ???
The song after this song Time should/ must be done next...
On point reaction
Thank you
Recommended you just let the entire Dark Side of the Moon album play start to finish it pretty much is one big song. One of my favorite things to do was drop a hit acid or some mushrooms and just walk around town or in the woods listening to this on repeat the entire album
Mine as well got cut off on your reaction of Time. I would love to hear your reaction. How do I see the reaction part?
