how do I connect my mpc one to my drumbrute impact? I have it connected thru USB but when I press start on the drumbrute I only hear the mpc one drum kits...?? help
I have a question. Using the MPC as a sequencer, what if I wanna control the synths keyboards with an external usb midi keyboard (better keys vs smaller of my Microkorg) and stay controlling knobs and faders from the synths as usual?
You can you will probably have to program the knobs on the MPC depending on the synth. Some are plug and play and will setup themselves. The other alternative would be tweaking the knobs and faders before you record the audio
I have a little tip my brother shared with me for anybody interested. Get a digital label maker ($20 or so on Amazon) and print & attach a label to every cable after you hook everything up. (For example: one might say “into MPC-1 usb” another might say “uno drum in” on one end and “op-1 synh out” on the other end.” That way if or when you ever disconnect the cables you always know exactly where everything plugs back in. It’s been a life saver for me.
@@DeeDotMajorMusic Right on. I always had to re-figure where everything went before my label maker so it’s been big for me. Aye I got a question tho: What’s the price range on those synths you got there? Thanks again.
How would I hook up my prophet rev 2, my mpc one, and speakers to an audio interface to all correspond with my computer. And what audio interface would be a good fit ?
It would really depend on how you want to hook it up I haven’t used the prophet rev 2 but assuming it will have a midi in & out connection and the daw you’re using would have to send midi clock to the prophet. Second like on the video you would need a 3.5mm in to 1/4 out into an interface and in your daw would have to configure an audio track for recording. Far as the interface I have a video on the on I have the Presonus 26c because I can use it between my Mac and iPad and has enough for the type of recording that I do. I’ve also used focusrite and m audio. I’d say with that do your best research
@@DeeDotMajorMusic I use the prophet rev 2 also and I have my prophet going into my interface. I use the midsport uno cable connected to my prophet to a usb hub that goes to a usb port in my desktop. I have a huge question and I want to ask anyone who knows if they could. I own an mpc one but when I plug in my mpk mini to the back of my mpc one it doesn’t recognize my midi controller but when I’m in stand alone it does. Is this just the way AKAI made this units USB port? I’m so confused
Yes if you’re trying to plug the keyboard in the MPC and use with the software I don’t believe that would work you’d have to plug directly to the computer the only time it would recognize the controller straight in the MPC would be as you said in stand alone mode
@@DeeDotMajorMusic thank you so much i was going crazy for hours thinking it was me or a problem with the mpc but I would see the controller power on but no recognition in the actual settings thanks a lot atleast I know I’m not crazy LOL. I have the same 4 machines daisy chained all running through a midi hub into MPC. When I tap midi icon, and dial through the port section my external synths do not show up. Does this only work with a USB hub?

Thanks for stopping by first Ian’s foremost, I haven’t used an MPK Mini on my MPC One, I use the Arturia Minilab on mine it’s just plug and play. Best I could recommend it’s to try to find a way to see if you could setup the midi parameters on the MPC One to be able to receive the signal from the MPK there may also be an update you possibly need to download it should be just plug and play for you as well given it’s Akai
I can't see the names of my MIDI devices showing up in my mpc One when I connect them via USB, for example my Keystep or Yamaha Reface. My interface also looks a little different from the one in this video. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Make sure you have the midi icon selected in the track menu then it should show up in the window below when you turn the data wheel. If that still doesn’t work I would check your firmware on the MPC to make sure it’s updated to the latest. Only 2 things I can think of at the moment hope it works fam
