Great job---I like your style of narration while riding. I've had my TEx for about 18 months. My friends get tired of hearing me say it's the best bike I've ever owned!!

Was that rear hugger standard with the bike? It looks very similat to what I bought as aftermerket one.

I binned mine on a tram track at around 10mph in torrential rain... sadly the 'adventurer' style is merely that. The bracket that holds the mud guard & control panel cluster snapped rendering the bike unridable. In the middle of a true adventure you'd be fu@8ed. Other than that, I love the bike.

+Andrew Bristol This is something that actually bothers me a bit too ! They are all completely electrically controlled now and what do you do in the middle of nowhere when you have a situation... The fly by wire throttle idea bugs me the most.

Nah, not really mate. I spend most of my time on that side of the road anyhow, and it was nice the traffic was going the same way for a change ;)

Hello mate. What are you gonna be doing with it ? Personally I'd probably rule out the Yamaha in that line up... It is known to lack low down power and hasn't had the greatest of revues really.. The BM and triumph are both great bikes and capable for getting off road and hitting some trails. Both have great engines and put out descent punch. You get a bit more trick bits on the bm I think, but then you do pay more for that... If you were also spending lots of time cruising distance, I'd say the BM is a bit more suited to miles and delivers a few more mpg and has a bigger capacity too. Have you tested any of them yourself yet ? Have you looked into what KTM also bring to the game ? The KTM 1050 is also a great bike and very easy handling and user friendly, but being fairly new out the prices are still pretty high...

To be fair at least you won't snap the throttle cables, I guess that's a positive. No reported issues with that

Yeah, that bike was all standard Triumph mate.

How does it corner? I know the bike has a strong motor.. but can you lean it over? Is it agile? It looks like you were straight up the whole time.

holden caulfied Hi. The bike does feel nice and light once it's rolling but not quite as flickable as a GS.

Thanks. I have an '08 oil head 1200GS but the tractor-like motor just doesn't do it for me. I love my Tiger 1050, the engine is amazing, but it's just too small (I'm 6'-2") so I'm thinking of trading it in for the Explorer. There is a 2015 at the dealer with only 25 miles for $12K with no dealer fees I think I need to move on. But I do like the flickability of the GS. Your advice?

+Rob Coppens Ah, you're in America ! Nice one, and Howdy :)
Nice to know I've gone international ! That was the best ride I've ever done ! I did 3154 miles starting in Atlanta Georgia, finishing in San Fransisco ! Love it over there and can't wait to do it again one day !

+Blackness Rides I wondered if you knew where I was from.. I've not been to all the States but have been to both of those places.. I'm more in the middle near St.Louis, MO. There is some nice riding over here..probably was strange for you riding on the 'wrong' side of the road! Ha!
