    Which ruby carver bits do you use the most for detailing bird feathers? There are so many and if cant afford a ton. Maybe give your top 5 or so and the size? Thanks you are awesome!

      Sorry took so long for me to answer your question. I would definitely yet a large and small flame tip, three different size balls including quarter inch and 1/8 inch.. A couple small cylinder ceramic for fine detail lines.

    I have 4 dremel tools which I load up different bits I would use for carving birds and bears 🐻

    Where do you find the drawing with the various sides of the bird? I am trying to find a drawing for a parakeet. Any help will be helpful. Thank you n

      Thanks for your question. Tropical bird patterns are hard to find. Wildfowl Carving magazine is probably your best bet

      Thanks for your question. I have a lot of older books that I learned from. I learned before computers were around. The book that most of my patterns are from is called songbird carving by Roslyn leach Daisey. Available on Amazon for $45.

      Thanks for your question. Most mail order wood carving supply stores have Ruby bits. I’ve purchased them from sugar pine wood carving supply.

      I would recommend Songbird Carving by Rosalyn Leach Daisey. This is where I get all my patterns from.
