Since then, we have solved some of the cutting/editing functions using self-written macros. Cut from cursor left / right - or moving a clip to cursor goes through self-written macros. But we urgently need editing over defined time units. Very nice
I think they refrain from saying what it is because it will depend on the set of key commands you have loaded (Classic Cubase, Logic, ProFools, etc..). You can also assign your own.
from release note, New Commands and Key Commands have been introduced: Fade In/Out to Range Start/End. Remove Fades. Resize events with fades. Apply Standard Fade In/Out. Remove Fade In/Out. Additional Range Selection commands allow increasing and decreasing the Range Selection by Key Commands in all four directions. Slip Editing is now available with Key Commands (Slip Event Content Left/Right). Fade commands. Move Events to cursor has been extended to support both alignments of events with their start as well as their end to the cursor position. Nudge Cursor (+- 5, 10, 20 seconds) Copy Warp Markers from Selected Event. Extended Range Selection commands.
A great workflow improvement would be to not crash every time you use the app or at least add technical support as part of workflow. I have posted so many forum comments and logs, sent logs and still nothing is changing from 11 to 12. You can have as many features as you like but if there isn’t support for when your paid product is not functional then there is zero point having these features. You keep saying that Cubase can do things other DAWs can’t do and you would be correct, sell a product with no support. Community forums are not support…
@@davechambers-media2599 Nice which one did you choose? I have found Cubase to be the most stable except for Reaper. Lots of issues with Studio One, which I used for quite a while but switched away from due to high CPU usage and crashing issues.
@@ezrashanti I went with Studio one. I actually find it uses less cpu then cubase. So far it has worked without crashing. I just got sick of Steinberg not giving a toss about fixing issues and the lack of support. Out of interest what crashes were you getting with studio one?
The thing I will never understand with these explanations is they constantly refer to shortcuts but they never show you what they are. Huge lapse in these tutorials.
Hello, could you make a video explaining how you make those shortcuts on key commands?
What are the default key commands for these features?
there is none, u can choose your own
@@YuvProd So by default these are not bound to anything? That's kind of odd.
@@DrBuffaloBalls on the key command you can bound it, its on “cut tail” if you want to bound it

That slip editing feature is something I have wanted for so long! Nice!
The best part of all update is workflow!!!
Great editing improvements!
What are the default key commands for these ?
3:40 - I'll probably pay the update price just for this feature alone.
Move the clip start without affecting the fade-in is finally here!
What the Fuss are the keyboard ShortCuts for these operations? And Or How to Set Them UP?
Thanks, Dom.
Very nice info, but funny/strange you're showing us old key commands from at least since Cubase 11 (but you have to set them up yourself)
Why not tell us the commands!?1!?
So, what's the key command you keep saying? I see you doing the work. But you don't seem to mention the hotkey used...>_0

The fade-in thing with Cmd+Option on my Mac doesn't go. Do I first press both buttons and then drag the upper left thing?
is it compatible with AU plugins ?
amazing!!! i love cubase
Cut Head and Tail is also available in Cubase 11. What is the difference?

Cubase 12 elements will not virgin install on windows 11 or windows 10 on my LG Gram Laptop. What is the problem? Video then VST errors
I’m hoping these key command updates mean bug fixes and/or new features for IC Pro - a very necessary part of my and others setups!
I think they did it a week ago. Major update.
That nudge driving me NUTS, i cant get it to work in midi..... how?
Hi Dom, How do you extend a range in Cubase 12 vertically?
Why didn't you just mention the used key commands? Probably you won't care, but you have you comment, dang....
cut tail and head aren't new...
Key Commands are new, as I understand it.
@@BaronPeppar I'm on 11 and they are already here...
key command key command key commend
This is a basic feature in most D.A.W.s
BUT what are THE key commands ?..

Try Avid, Steinberg will look like angels!
@@ezrashanti I have switched to another which works great and no crashing.

Being a songwriter / producer I need simple things, like the trackpad to have a zoom function. PLEASE KEEP IT SIMPLE, CUBASE
Would have actually been helpful if these key commands were called out or listed on screen.
Great... And what are the default hot keys, man? No text, no mentions... "Now you can! Guess how..."
Why are you talking about shortcuts, but neither telling us what the shortcut is or where to find the tool selector? What the hell?
