There's some other people putting out good cubase content, but I really appreciate that this guy always takes it "a step FERDER"!
Man your content is always spot on ! I've been using Cubase for almost 20 years now and I love how every time I watch one of your videos I always learn something incredibly useful. Cheers !!
Thank you so much. ❤
Moving events from the inside......... man, how I missed this. Big thank you Chris! 10/10 TOP!
first 30 seconds of the video, I'm laughing, I'm smiling, I'm actually shedding tears..... WHERE HAS THIS BEEN FOR THE LAST DECADE!!!!!!! the amount of time I've manually moved everything one by one to slot some space in....oh wow
LOL! Glad it helped!
You and I think a like. great comments!
Thank you. This is the step by step that makes a great helpful channel that I can use immediately.
Great to hear! :-)

Ole ! Chris, excellent. Very practical, and well explained. Thousands of tricks in Cubase. I love Cubase and I love your videos. Not too large which is good. But very valuable.
Awesome, thank you, very much!
Super informative! Thanks Chris!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Chris for very useful tips. They will save me a lot of time.
Great to hear!
New tricks in the Steinberg toolset. Thank you Chris.
You're welcome!
Thanks for this!
Of course!
select all tracks in range on mac (for me anyway) is Option Shift, not command shift. Not sure if there is a pref but that seems to be the correct keys on MAC
thanks for this timesaving information ! great content
My pleasure!
I love this lesson. Thanks, coach
Glad you enjoyed it!
Top-notch tips there Chris! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks bro! 😁
This is such a fantastic channel! Thank you so much for all the great tipps and information. I learn a lot about Cubase and I've been using it since version 4. Greetings from Germany
Great to hear! Youère very welcome Matthias!
Awesome tips, thank you Chris. Saved for future reference, when I have my notebook handy.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for your excellence content! I find it useful to create a Track Folder called “All” and create (or drag in) all tracks within it. This way I can make fast and easy edits to the whole project, and I find it easier than using the Arrange function, or range editing. Also makes it easy to copy 2 or 3 versions of the song further down the timeline to experiment on, or to let a player do multiple takes without using cycle recording.
dam bro thats a sneaky deaky little trick - 10 points for you
WoW That's great.... Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Cool video Chris, tnx 👍🏾 I used macros for de essing on my old Mac, but now on my Mac studio dir some reason I'm not able to assign key command for my macros.
Tanks Chris, always THE MAN when it come to CB. One question: I'm trying to set up a macro or find a shortcut for resetting all the meters of my mixer. Say I want to start fresh a session, is there a command that brings all the meters down to nothing (not zero=unity point) so I can start moving meters again and start remixing? Thanks
Merci beaucoup ! Super !
Ça me fait plaisir!
Great tip! I am using it all the time now, thanks to this video. Awesome.
Great to hear!
Great content. Thanks for sharing these great tricks 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks!! This will help a lot. Smooth and fast editing is often underestimated. So many channels focus on plugins and hardware.
That's why I make these videos from time to time. You're welcome!
Thanks man!
Happy to help!
Hi Chris. It would be awesome if you made all your macros available!
Very helpful video , thank you 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video
Of course!
Great video! Very useful!
You're welcome!
Nice Chris !!!
Thanks!
What are your TOP Cubase Editing Tricks you use all the time?
Let me know!
Is that a WA-2MPX behind you, Chris?
Want! 🥰
Yes it is...Video coming out soon!
@@mixdownonline Can't wait! 👍
Hi, Chris! Thanks for video, it's realy saved time tricks (delete time exactly!). I have question, do you have video about your OBS audio settings?
That 100k is around the corner 🎉 congrats 🎊
Getting there :-) Thanks for your support!
brilliant....users of studio one ...have already got this by virtue of highlighting in arrangement a section n' simply clicking copy...until i saw this vid a couple of weeks back..i didn't know how to do in cubase....it was as easy as pie to make the macro and even easier in cubase 12 to map it to a controller..one button n' bang...instant arrangement ease...that's of course if you're working in linear inside the arranger view...but still cubase's arrange track is a total killer...n' studio one users don't have that by a long shot.....well in version 6 at least....another reason to move from other daw's to cubase...
Hi Chris, just to save time, are these options only available in Cubase Pro? I’m using Cubase Artist 11. Always useful, I think, to state which Cubase versions these features are available in. Many thanks.
How do you put the waveform also on the volume editing track?
Slip editing would be cooler if it could also snap to quanitze settings. That autofade setting is very handy, thanks for that.
Most of my macros do zooming and visibility functions for easier navigating. With a tablet and TouchOSC I can activate them pressing a button. What I also use very often is colouring all my groups-, fx-, master-, rearbus-, stems channels and Folder tracks to the proper colour with one touch of a button. 😝
Glad you liked the Auto-fade! Thanks for sharing, bro!
You can set up a macro so that the slip editing snaps to grid
If you want to set it up, heres the following macro commands: Quantize slip left = Nudge start left, nudge end left, nudge right....then set up another macro with the opposite "left is right, right is left" for the slip right. Nudge setting has to be on "link to grid" for this to work but its very useful and fun to mess with for choppy sample stuff
@@baldy5683 oh I have to try this next time. 🙏
hah, I was just asking this. Nice
Little note Chris: delete time on PC is SHIFT + BACKSPACE and NOT SHIFT + DELETE if I remember correctly ;-)
Sorry, I'm on Mac, where Delete is Backspace... My bad!
I like your stacked PC monitors. Are they 27" ones? What brand and model? And what pole mount?
ALSO: I'm loving your course: The Ultimate Guide to Cubase. It's worth every cent for the time it is saving me as this 36-year veteran of Cakewalk/Sonar learning to translate my skills to Cubase Pro 12.
I noticed that too. Very cool and a space saver, would like to know what you used to do that.
sir plz tell how to all vst copy nd paste 2nd audio track one click
how you make waveform visible for group track
Merci Chris, je cherchais dernièrement comment le faire!! :)
Fa plaisir mon Etienne! On découvre toujours de quoi avec Cubase :-)
hi have you a vid on the external plugin for hardware mixing thanks

@@mixdownonline thanks chris for the quality content and speedy reply, thats how to be a youtube giant, respect :) top man
I think that you mean "Shift+erase" not "Shift+delete" for the Cut or delete time , I tried it and it works with that shortcut (with the back arrow erase key on top right of all keyboards I mean, not the small delete key, at least in spanish, deletee is for the small over the arrows keys, and arrowback erase is the one I also see is on the shortcuts list). Also to use the range tool in windows and get all the tracks selection its ALT + Shift, dont know if Mac uses cmnd anyway.... Great tips!!! Thank you!!
I'm on Mac, so it's called Delete, but you're right, not the small delete key on WIN. Thanks :-)
@@mixdownonline NONO thanks to you, sorry I pointed that while possessed by my enthusiasm of trying all the tips
Very helpful! How are you getting the audio from Cubase? Are you using OBS for this video?
No, I'm screen recording with another software, and record my audio on a separate external recorder, But I just bought "Loopback" for Mac for my live streams, and it works very well
Hi Chris first thanks for everything. Can you explain how to edit colors for channels in a more varied way than the default colors?
Go to Project, then Project Colors Setup... (or Option+Shift+S), then choose the second tap called "Presets", Select 32 in the Number Of Basic Colors option, Select 4 in the Number Of Colors Tint and that's it.
@@jorgeandresholguinpyngwi3170 Thank you very much for an accurate and efficient explanation
There was still a click with your bass autofade - just at a lower frequency.
Chris, thanks for the awesome videos. MIX or maybe mastering question: My mixes sound great in my monitors and headphones. Then I play them on my phone by itself and there's almost no bass. What do I do???
You won't find lots of bass on phone speakers by nature. Compare your mix with a Pro Commercial Mix that you use as a reference. Chances are that the Pro Mix will also lack of bass on your phone, in this case, don't worry about it!

Strange thing, when I click CTRL-SHFT and selecting, it overwrites the snap to grid. Is it true for everybody? If it is, I wonder why Steinberg did this.
Comme toujours, super tuto, Chris. J'attrape toujours deux-trois trucs qui accelerent mon workflow.
Can you do a vid on slip editing Chris
What would you like to know?
How to use it period
What is your current PC processor and RAM setup?
There yo go! ua-cam.com/video/Ya3PvA3fazo/v-deo.html
How do you get the sound waves visible on the automation track, like the bass track in this video?
ua-cam.com/users/shortsr2T8mLryglk?feature=share
Awesome! Thanks!!
When you cut or copy using global range, does the automation get copied as well? I just want to verify that all automation will be included in these range functions.
Yes, that includes automations
is there a trick to move bus automation within a folder ? when copy pasting a section ? normally Cubase doesn't do this for buss automations
What I did in the video will also include Audio, FX, and Group channel Automation
how to snare roll pitch change as like fruity loop
First you should be sure that you don't have any track locked or freezed. I notice that when you use the Command+Shift option in order to select everything the snap option doesn't work, it should be slaved the same way when you use the single selection.
My workaround is once the selection is made, I just resize with the Snap active
Just watching the video, even if I’m not a cubase user. In Studio One we have the Arranger track who let us set some range as arranging range and when you cut, duplicate, move or whatever you do to the arranger track it makes follow everything inside this range. So basically it is really fast to make an arrangement when you have your main section by duplicating, copying and then tweaking each section.
Cubase has that function also. This is handy for after flattening your arranger track or if you don't use the arranger tool at all.
thnx bro apart from htis you have a light bulb kind of thing i also want that that its name
You"re welcome!
...or just use arranger track :)
That's a different tool, and a good one, but reality is that most people don't use it much, including myself. Setting up the Arranger track after the fact, for this purpose takes too much time :-)
I press control Z, it doesn't go back, and the channel I selected is magnified????
happens to me all the time the Ctrl key got lost. I think there is a way to get to your previous Zoom level.
I've get rid of Z for zoom, it is very handy key to be used for better shortcut. In my case I use it to snap on/off instead of J
When holding ctrl and alt to shift the wave forms within the event; is there a way to make it snap to grid while it moves? It would make it sooo much more useful. As it stands it just moves fluidly only, as far as I can tell.
Unfortunately, not for now...My workaround is once I make my selection, I just resize the Left/Right Selection with the Snap active
