That’s hilarious. Haven’t watched the video yet, but I’ve been leading a Bible study and this Sunday we’re gonna go over Mark chapters 2-3 which coincidentally contains this passage. Was putting some notes together and wanted to wait and take a deep dive into this section by looking at other commentaries because it’s theologically dense, then this pops into my feed. The parable of the wine skin is in reference to the old man and the new man, you can’t put Gods Holy Spirit into the old man of sin, they would be contrary one to another, However you can put the Holy Spirt into the new regenerated man where both are preserved Thus the parable
" If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new "---You must die to your old self to experience this new life.
When true genuine conversion is experienced, one does indeed die to your previous nature. One becomes a new person with accompanied new tastes by the indwelling of Holy Spirit Who changes you.

God is also not ours to subdue and tame, He is wilder and stranger than anything we can ever imagine. Just when we think "We get Him, do this and that, you are set!" He bursts out of our frame! We would like to put God in a box and we would love it if He stayed there in that box in the corner, nicely grasped and rationalised, kept happy by our prayers and sacrifices, giving us what WE want, becoming something we can wield. He does not. He is the Lord of lords, King of kings and God of gods.
Have you ever given thought to your statement? Might I suggest that you Search the keys words "don't put God in a box". I am only suggesting this because I was unknowingly attending church where a dangerously false doctrine was adhered to. It was three years later when I began hearing certain common catch phrases that it finally caught my attention enough to make me look further into it. This was one of the first few things I read about, and had been hearing for years.
@@cecilianbarrett6417 I have put the keywords you suggested into a web search and it appears that there are quite a few things written and said about that. I didn't (and in all likelihood couldn't) know that. People take all kinds of ideas into extremes. In my Armenian Orthodox world, in a 99% Muslim country, we are not familiar with that diversity of churches that exists elsewhere. The phrase just popped into my mind and I was inspired by my readings of the Book of Job and the Psalms as well as the Gospels and the Epistles. And what I meant in essence was, that we should carry on wrestling with God all our life: He can't be instrumentalised or weaponised.
Please forgive me! I often times forget that comments come in from all across the world. If I have worded anything in a way that has been offensive, I also ask you to forgive me there as well! I struggle with finding the appropriate wording at times. For me personally, it wasn't until I stopped struggling with God, and came to a place of full surrender when He began revealing His truths to me. Thank you for the depth of this explanation. I am greatly encouraged when you go in depth to challenging scripture. These deepen my faith greatly. Full confession, I personally have to choose wisely your videos that I watch. The discernment videos concerning false leaders are what I need to avoid in this season of my life. Being a lifelong Christian, and now at 54, I only now have the willingness to allow the word (& life circumstances) to circumcise my heart. I have always looked for wrong in everyone else, but me. I agree with what I’ve heard you say on a separate video, something to the effect of “There is room for discernment ministry,” to call out false teachers. But for me, and this season of my life, I’m needing God to shed the years of pride, condemnation, hatred, and the spirit of fear, and to build up in me humility, love, gentleness, and kindness. Some of my friends and I just went through this passage in Mark in our Bible study and your video really helped clear things up. None of us really knew what this parable was about before
Wow. The Lord had previously shown me a small part of what this parable meant, but he gave you so much deeper of a revelation than me! I came thinking, “I know what this means, but, … maybe Mike has a deeper perspective.” I’m glad I did. This was edifying!
That’s such a simple but great point that we need to change. Saying of myself, sometimes it’s so hard to change even in little things, flesh and all the evil hates it so much when we do according to truth.

Thanks so much for this video! I’ve been thinking about this parable for a number of years. I still don’t understand what these parables have to do with the question being asked… or how it relates with the first half of the answer Jesus gives… he said that the disciples don’t fast now, but they will once the bride groom is gone, I’ve always assumed that meant that once Jesus is crucified, the disciples will fast… But if the parable is regarding the old covenant and new covenant, I don’t see how that fits with the question or the answer. I’ve heard explanations like this my whole life, but I’ve never had anybody type it in with the question or the first half of the answer. Is there something I’m missing? Yes, but to receive the Holy Spirit I need to repent and believe and enter into the new covenant (the new wineskin) in order to receive that new wine that is also a typology of the Holy Spirit

Wingers wrong. You can’t put the Holy Spirit into the old man, but you can put the Holy Spirit into the new man, for God gives his Spirit to those that obey him, thus preserving both man and Gods Spirit, that’s the meaning of the parable
Each generation is a wineskin. New wine, new revelation is poured into us. As the years go by, this revelation matures and to us it is good. But our children are a new generation. They must have their own revelation.

How many times have i read something, and all of a sudden, it's like brand new manna from heaven. This is inferring to that pesky old works salvation that has robbed so many well meaning believers of peace and freedom.
The Law is the old wineskin. The new wine, the church, does not fit in the old wineskin. Jesus' parable here is so beautiful and so perfectly explains how the new covenant relationship we have with God is incompatible with the Law as the situation is entirely different.
And yet JESUS said nothing changes until all is fulfilled. In Revelation it states HE is coming for those who keep the commandments and hold the testimony of JESUS CHRIST.
Hey, his commandments are different from the ones of the old covenant, don't mix it together because like Jesus said it's like putting an old pice of cloth in an old garment. If you really want to be alive in the Spirit and living under the grace you have to get rid of the Law (of the old covenant) Romans 7:4 ESV [4] Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. [6] But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.

The Quran contains elements of truth here and there, but it's twisted truth. The message of the Quran directly conflicts with what the Bible teaches. Jesus tells us in the Bible; where we came from, the details concerning the fall of angels and mankind, God's plans to save mankind and how He accomplish that, what God requires in order to be saved, and then how to live for God and serve Him until He calls us home or we're taken alive in the rapture.

Jesus has no earthly father, and that was absolutely critical to accomplishing the mission the Father sent Jesus to do. Jesus was born of a Jewish virgin, Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit; the third person of the Trinity.

[34] And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” [35] And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; *therefore the child to be born will be called holy-the Son of God.*
Every single pregnancy requires 2 things for the pregnancy to take place. Take the example of a chicken egg. Without the presence of a rooster, a hen just lays eggs and those eggs are collected as food. But when the rooster and hen come together, the result of that creates blood and a new life is formed. Our life is in our blood, just as the life of an animal is in its blood.
Genesis 9:4 ESV
[4] But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
Jesus having no earthly father, where did His blood come from? Jesus was in the beginning with the Father, and God the Father sent Jesus to earth to be born of a virgin, which kept Him from being born with a sin nature. And not only was Jesus sinless at birth, He lived a life of obedience to the Father following the Jewish law perfectly. And His final act of obedience was to die on the cross.

The Bible is Absolute Truth and God's final authority, God breathed (inspired by the Holy Spirit). No other religious or sacred writings are scripture. (Hebrews 4:12-13, 2 Peter 3:14-18, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Peter 1:20-21, Acts 1:16)
The only way to be saved is to understand what the Bible teaches about the gospel message, believing it with a heart of repentance, and calling upon the name of Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior. ALL the religions of the world tell us that we get to heaven by what we do for God. That if our good outweighs the bad, we will be acceptable to God and go to heaven. But Christianity is the only faith that tells the Truth, that we get to heaven by what God has done for us! That’s hilarious. Haven’t watched the video yet, but I’ve been leading a Bible study and this Sunday we’re gonna go over Mark chapters 2-3 which coincidentally contains this passage. Was putting some notes together and wanted to wait and take a deep dive into this section by looking at other commentaries because it’s theologically dense, then this pops into my feed. The parable of the wine skin is in reference to the old man and the new man, you can’t put Gods Holy Spirit into the old man of sin, they would be contrary one to another, However you can put the Holy Spirt into the new regenerated man where both are preserved Thus the parable
" If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new "---You must die to your old self to experience this new life.
When true genuine conversion is experienced, one does indeed die to your previous nature. One becomes a new person with accompanied new tastes by the indwelling of Holy Spirit Who changes you.
My English is weak...so please understand....Once I was in sleep at 10:30 p.m. dated 14-11-2017 ....I listened a voice in my heart ' wake up' and read Matthew 8:3 ( healings)and 9:17 ( new wineskin and new wine Parable ) same you are explained....but it is in Matthew...Then I accept Jesus as my saviour....That time I was thinking about suicide because of my illness.... God is also not ours to subdue and tame, He is wilder and stranger than anything we can ever imagine. Just when we think "We get Him, do this and that, you are set!" He bursts out of our frame! We would like to put God in a box and we would love it if He stayed there in that box in the corner, nicely grasped and rationalised, kept happy by our prayers and sacrifices, giving us what WE want, becoming something we can wield. He does not. He is the Lord of lords, King of kings and God of gods.

I am only suggesting this because I was unknowingly attending church where a dangerously false doctrine was adhered to.
It was three years later when I began hearing certain common catch phrases that it finally caught my attention enough to make me look further into it.
This was one of the first few things I read about, and had been hearing for years.
@@cecilianbarrett6417 I have put the keywords you suggested into a web search and it appears that there are quite a few things written and said about that. I didn't (and in all likelihood couldn't) know that. People take all kinds of ideas into extremes. In my Armenian Orthodox world, in a 99% Muslim country, we are not familiar with that diversity of churches that exists elsewhere. The phrase just popped into my mind and I was inspired by my readings of the Book of Job and the Psalms as well as the Gospels and the Epistles. And what I meant in essence was, that we should carry on wrestling with God all our life: He can't be instrumentalised or weaponised.
Please forgive me! I often times forget that comments come in from all across the world.
If I have worded anything in a way that has been offensive, I also ask you to forgive me there as well!
I struggle with finding the appropriate wording at times.

Thank you for the depth of this explanation. I am greatly encouraged when you go in depth to challenging scripture. These deepen my faith greatly. Full confession, I personally have to choose wisely your videos that I watch. The discernment videos concerning false leaders are what I need to avoid in this season of my life. Being a lifelong Christian, and now at 54, I only now have the willingness to allow the word (& life circumstances) to circumcise my heart. I have always looked for wrong in everyone else, but me. I agree with what I’ve heard you say on a separate video, something to the effect of “There is room for discernment ministry,” to call out false teachers. But for me, and this season of my life, I’m needing God to shed the years of pride, condemnation, hatred, and the spirit of fear, and to build up in me humility, love, gentleness, and kindness. Surprisingly, if you look at it also from the perspective of Christian growth, no one immediately comes from the old life and instantly gets saved and likes the new life.., there is growth involved... And growth is a process.
No wonder it says in verses 39 that no one having drunk the old wine(lived the old life) immediately desires the new(new walk with God) for he will say, the old is better ( the old life style)

I’ve been thinking about this parable for a number of years. I still don’t understand what these parables have to do with the question being asked… or how it relates with the first half of the answer Jesus gives… he said that the disciples don’t fast now, but they will once the bride groom is gone,
I’ve always assumed that meant that once Jesus is crucified, the disciples will fast…
But if the parable is regarding the old covenant and new covenant, I don’t see how that fits with the question or the answer. I’ve heard explanations like this my whole life, but I’ve never had anybody type it in with the question or the first half of the answer. Is there something I’m missing?

Wingers wrong. You can’t put the Holy Spirit into the old man, but you can put the Holy Spirit into the new man, for God gives his Spirit to those that obey him, thus preserving both man and Gods Spirit, that’s the meaning of the parable

How many times have i read something, and all of a sudden, it's like brand new manna from heaven. This is inferring to that pesky old works salvation that has robbed so many well meaning believers of peace and freedom.

The Law is the old wineskin. The new wine, the church, does not fit in the old wineskin. Jesus' parable here is so beautiful and so perfectly explains how the new covenant relationship we have with God is incompatible with the Law as the situation is entirely different.
And yet JESUS said nothing changes until all is fulfilled. In Revelation it states HE is coming for those who keep the commandments and hold the testimony of JESUS CHRIST.

Hey, his commandments are different from the ones of the old covenant, don't mix it together because like Jesus said it's like putting an old pice of cloth in an old garment. If you really want to be alive in the Spirit and living under the grace you have to get rid of the Law (of the old covenant)
