@@eloisemartinez5301 I will check that out! I love hearing ex JWs stories.
I tried the atheist thing but I just couldn't deny God. I searched desperately for "The Truth" for a while. I heard the song "Simple Gospel" and God took me on the most mind blowing path to Him. When we have been taught so thoroughly that everyone is lying, then find out our source of faith was a lie, it makes sense so many turn to atheism. Plus we were All horribly abused.
My dad's an elder in California (well on his way to traveling overseer). Last time I saw him I prayed God would give me words for him. I told him I'd found Jesus and He had totally changed my life, he said "well, just don't forget the Father" I said "how could I? I'd have nothing without Him. You know Jesus is the only way to Him though right?"
I pray a seed was planted.

My mom became a JW when I was 7. (7 years of birthdays and Christmas gone in one fell swoop and my sister didn’t celebrate her birthday until she was almost 30) My dad fought her about trying to indoctrinate me and my sister for years but finally gave into her and I was made to attend the Kingdom Hall. It was literal hell. I had nightmares for years about Armageddon. It caused so much damage to my family that I haven’t spoken to my mother in 12 years.
I’m going to try to reach out to her. I want her to have the peace that comes with knowing Jesus. The true Jesus.

Well, JW's have wrong doctrines, but so do most other churches. And Christmas IS a pagan holiday that the Romans slapped the name "Christ" on and called it "holy". Its not, and neither are birthdays-nowhere in the Bible does it say to celebrate Christ's birthday. But when Christ observed his last Passover (not "Easter"), that's what he told us to do: "Do this in memory of me", so that we would remember he was the lamb who was slain for us. In the Bible, evil pagan kings celebrated their birthdays and that's where we get that from. So you think you were missing out on paganism? Please, study your Bible and ask the Father to let His Holy Spirit teach you. It is the only way to escape false, erroneous or misleading teachings.

@@benhurn8277 Here's how you can tell how FALSE JWs are. The 144,000 JWs believe will rule over everyone with Jesus in heaven were/are spirit anointed by God (according to them). The numbers for these 144,000 were filled up 1919 until finishing in 1935 according to JW literature (see below). However these "spirit anointed ones" would most likely be disfellowshipped as apostates now in their own religion. They most likely at some point smoked, celebrated Christmas, birthdays, Easter, believed in the Cross, went to war, believed Charles "Taze" Russell was the "faithful slave", thought that Russell directed the religion even after his death, believed the Great Pyramid in Giza was a testimony to the Bible and its chronology, worshiped Jesus until 1954, claimed the KJ version was the perfect Bible, took blood, ect, ect, ect Pagans, pagans, pagans!!!
"Hence, especially after 1966 it was believed that *the heavenly call ceased in 1935."* Watchtower 2007 May 1 p.30
"Their being identified in 1935 as the great crowd of other sheep was an indication that the choosing of the 144,000 was then about complete." Revelation, Its Grand Climax Now at Hand p.125
"We understand that this heavenly calling continued down through the centuries, though during the so-called Dark Ages, there may have been times when the number of anointed ones were very few. With the reestablishment of true Christianity near the end of the last century, more were called and chosen. But it seems that *in the mid-1930's, the full number of the 144,000 was basically completed.* Thus there began to appear a group of loyal Christians with the earthly hope. Jesus termed such "other sheep," who unite in worship with the anointed as one approved flock." Watchtower 1996 Aug 15 p.31

He could only have been referring to the Hebrew scriptures, so how does that help your case? Also, 1 Timothy is a proven forgery. Dr. Bart Ehrman, Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina: "We have already seen that supporters of Paul forged letters in his name. These pseudonymous authors obviously felt that Paul’s authority could prove persuasive in the context of the various controversies and struggles the Christian community was encountering. So we have a range of Pauline writings that he did not in fact write: Ephesians, Colossians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, 3 Corinthians, letters to Seneca, and no doubt numerous other letters that have not survived from the early church." - Forged: Writing in the Name of God--Why the Bible's Authors Are Not Who We Think They Are, pg 209

WHO IS OVER ALL? Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. GOD and FATHER is OVER/ABOVE ALL and that "All" includes the SON so they are NOT EQUAL
THE BIBLE teaches that Jesus was MADE As Lord and Christ and as Son (ACTS 2:36, Prov 8, HEB 1:5), CREATED/PRODUCED/INSTALLED (Prov 8) , COME INTO BEING/MADE (Mat 21:42 - egeneto) and GIVEN LIFE by the Father - John 5:26 and it uses TODAY (Heb 1:5), and uses future tenses and is a prophecy in Isa 9:6 (Isa 9:6, - WILL BE) . If you are called MADE AND CREATED AND GIVEN LIFE, and NEVER CALLED in the BIBLE as Creator or Maker , then you are A CREATION. ALL FROM THE BIBLE
From the Lord was this (this is referring to the chief cornerstone who is Jesus) , the word WAS is egeneto (made or came into being) - Matthew 21:42 and the exact Greek word used in John 1:3 - MADE, egeneto (came into being) - JESUS WAS MADE/CAME INTO BEING FROM THE FATHER , yes, Jesus was MADE/CREATED!, See also Acts 2:36, Heb 1:5, 1 john 5

One can disagree with someone's doctrine without it equating to "bashing" the person. That is a problem in our society-people can't handle not being agreed with. Was Christ being divisive when he called out the Pharisees? The people who make up doctrines and present them as truth and demand that others believe in these false doctrines are the ones being divisive. They are cutting out the truth and replacing it with their imaginings, and this is dangerous to the flock. If not agreeing with false doctrine is divisive, let me be divisive then.

Col 1:16...all things were created FOR HIM.
      Heb 1:2..God appointed Jesus HEIR.

@@jimjuri6490 You have posted falsehood in the above. Here's how and why that's true: The word "firstborn" as used in Col. 1:15 has to do with supremacy. The contextual theme of Colossians 1:15-19 is that of the Supremacy of Christ. "Firstborn" is a Hebrew term having to do with rank, primacy, and supremacy. Vs. 15 is saying that Christ is the Supreme One over all Creation. That makes Him God. There is a different word for "first created", and that is the word Paul would have used if he wanted to convey the idea that Christ is a creation. He DOESN'T.
And here is something BIG: *Even the JW masters admit that "firstborn" has to do with supremacy.* “David, who was the youngest son of Jesses [sic], was called by Jehovah the “firstborn,” due to Jehovah’s elevation of David to the preeminent position in God’s chosen nation” (Aid to Bible Understanding, 1971, 584; emphasis added).
Israel is called God's “firstborn” in Exodus 4:22, but everyone knows that Israel was not the first nation created.
ADDED to this: In Revelation 1:5, Jesus is called “the firstborn of the dead,” even though He was not the first person to be resurrected chronologically. Of all ever raised, He is the preeminent One.
Romans 8:29 refers to Him as the firstborn in relation to the church.
In all the above cases, firstborn clearly means highest in rank, not first created.

They told me they were and started trying to debate specifics about several subjects, but I just kept going back to “we can debate our entire lives and it would get us nowhere, how you know you’re born again is when the Holy Spirit is developing fruit in your life, Joy, gratitude, peace, etc etc” every time I said this they nodded and the man kept looking down. He knew I was right. I said everything in joy and love (praise be to God), I know they could feel my joy, and I could sense that they had no joy, in fact they seemed depressed. I don’t say that as a put down either. I know the Lord led me to meet them and share the gospel with them, He loves them. And though I couldn’t tell them anything that jw’s are specifically wrong about, the way The Lord used me to keep sharing about the fruit of the Holy Spirit was even better, instead of me vs them it became about the wonderful changes God has done in me. I know they could see the Holy Spirit in me and that they were missing out on it, hopefully they’ll seek Christ.

Then that shows the JWs have the truth. Because becoming a JW means producing good fruit. Jesus said in Mt. 7:13-23 that we can know the true religion based on that good fruit and whose not because of their rotten fruit.
That rotten fruit would be things like joining the military and fighting and killing in wars.
Supporting and allowing and condoning immorality and homosexuality and abortion. Plus smoking, drugs, over drinking, gambling, etc.
Being part of the world by voting and supporting/ running for office in politics.

There’s lots of born again believers that are not even part of a church. God chooses. [3] Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.
15:28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.
      Jesus said:
You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I am.

"that so great a work was accomplished in so brief a space by the Lord, who, though despised as to appearance, was in reality adored, the expiator of sin, the Saviour, the clement, the Divine Word, He that is truly most manifest Deity, He that is made equal to the Lord of the universe; because He was His Son, and the Word was in God, not disbelieved in by all when He was first preached, nor altogether unknown when, assuming the character of man, and fashioning Himself in flesh, He enacted the drama of human salvation: for He was a true champion and a fellow-champion with [ie. God among creatures, not that Jesus is classed as a creature] the creature." (Exhortations, Chap 10)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "I understand nothing else than the Holy Trinity to be meant; for the third is the Holy Spirit, and the Son is the second, by whom all things were made according to the will of the Father." (Stromata, Book V, ch. 14)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "When [John] says: 'What was from the beginning [1 John 1:1],' he touches upon the generation without beginning of the Son, who is co-equal with the Father. 'Was,' therefore, is indicative of an eternity without a beginning, just as the Word Himself, that is the Son, being one with the Father in regard to equality of substance, is eternal and uncreated. That the word always existed is signified by the saying: 'In the beginning was the Word' [John 1:1]." (fragment in Eusebius History, Bk 6 Ch 14; Jurgens, p. 188)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria 'For both are one - that is, God. For He has said, "In the beginning the Word was in God, and the Word was God." (The Instructor, Book 1, ch 8)
190 AD Clement of Alexandria "Despised as to appearance but in reality adored, [Jesus is] the Expiator, the Savior, the Soother, the Divine Word, he that is quite evidently true God, he that is put on a level with the Lord of the universe because he was his Son." (Exhortation to the Greeks, 10:110:1).
190 AD Clement of Alexandria "The Word, then, the Christ, is the cause both of our ancient beginning, for lie was in God, and of our well-being. And now this same Word has appeared as man. He alone is both God and man, and the source of all our good things" (Exhortation to the Greeks 1:7:1).
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "Now, O you, my children, our Instructor is like His Father God, whose son He is, sinless, blameless, and with a soul devoid of passion; God in the form of man, stainless, the minister of His Father's will, the Word who is God, who is in the Father, who is at the Father's right hand, and with the form of God is God." (Instructor, Book I, ch. 2)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "His Son Jesus, the Word of God, is our Instructor.... He is God and Creator." (Instructor, Book I, ch. 11)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "This is the New Song, the manifestation of the Word that was in the beginning, and before the beginning. The Savior, who existed before, has in recent days appeared. He, who is in Him that truly is, has appeared; for the Word, who "was with God," and by whom all things were created, has appeared as our Teacher. The Word, who in the beginning bestowed on us life as Creator when He formed us, taught us to live well when He appeared as our Teacher; that as God He might afterwards conduct us to the life which never ends." (Exhortation To The Heathen, ch 2)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "This Word, then, the Christ, the cause of both our being at first (for He was in God) and of our well-being, this very Word has now appeared as man, He alone being both, both God and man" (Exhortation To The Heathen, ch 2)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "For it was not without divine care that so great a work was accomplished in so brief a space by the Lord, who, though despised as to appearance, was in reality adored, the expiator of sin, the Savior, the clement, the Divine Word, He that is truly most manifest Deity, He that is made [made = appointed not created, ie. made king after resurrection.] equal to the Lord of the universe; because He was His Son, and the Word was in God, not disbelieved in by all when He was first preached, nor altogether unknown when, assuming the character of man, and fashioning Himself in flesh" (Exhortation To The Heathen, ch 10)
190 AD Clement Of Alexandria "Now, O you, my children, our Instructor is like His Father God, whose son He is, sinless, blameless, and with a soul devoid of passion; God in the form of man, stainless, the minister of His Father's will, the Word who is God, who is in the Father, who is at the Father's right hand, and with the form of God is God." 200 AD Tertullian
200 AD Tertullian "Never did any angel descend for the purpose of being crucified, of tasting death, and of rising again from the dead." (The Flesh of Christ, ch 6)
200 AD Tertullian "All the Scriptures give clear proof of the Trinity, and it is from these that our principle is deduced...the distinction of the Trinity is quite clearly displayed." (Against Praxeas, ch 11)
200 AD Tertullian "The origins of both his substances display him as man and as God: from the one, born, and from the other, not born" (The Flesh of Christ, 5:6-7).
200 AD Tertullian "[God speaks in the plural 'Let us make man in our image'] because already there was attached to Him his Son, a second person, his own Word, and a third, the Spirit in the Word....one substance in three coherent persons. He was at once the Father, the Son, and the Spirit." (Against Praxeas, ch 12)
200 AD Tertullian "Thus the connection of the Father in the Son, and of the Son in the Paraclete, produces three coherent Persons, who are yet distinct One from Another. These Three are, one essence, not one Person, as it is said, 'I and my Father are One' [John 10:30], in respect of unity of Being not singularity of number" (Against Praxeas, 25)
200 AD Tertullian "As if in this way also one were not All, in that All are of One, by unity (that is) of substance; while the mystery of the dispensation is still guarded, which distributes the Unity into a Trinity, placing in their order the three Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost: three, however, not in condition, but in degree; not in substance, but in form; not in power, but in aspect; yet of one substance, and of one condition, and of one power, inasmuch as He is one God, from whom these degrees and forms and aspects are reckoned, under the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Against Praxeas, by Tertullian)
200 AD Tertullian "So too, that which has come forth out of God is at once God and the Son of God; and the two are one.... In his birth he is God and man united." (Apology, ch 21)
200 AD Tertullian "There is one only God, but under the following dispensation, or oikonomia, as it is called, that this one only God has also a Son, His Word, who proceeded from Himself, by whom all things were made, and without whom nothing was made. Him we believe to have been sent by the Father into the Virgin, and to have been born of her - being both Man and God, the Son of Man and the Son of God, and to have been called by the name of Jesus Christ; we believe Him to have suffered, died, and been buried, according to the Scriptures, and, after He had been raised again by the Father and taken back to heaven, to be sitting at the right hand of the Father, and that He will come to judge the quick and the dead; who sent also from heaven from the Father, according to His own promise, the Holy Ghost, the Paraclete, the sanctifier of the faith of those who believe in the Father, and in the Son, and in the Holy Ghost. That this rule of faith has come down to us from the beginning of the gospel, even before any of the older heretics." (Against Praxeas, ch 2)
200 AD Tertullian "That there are two Gods and two Lords, however, is a statement which we will never allow to issue from our mouth; not as if the Father and the Son were not God, nor the Spirit God, and each of them God; but formerly two were spoken of as Gods and two as Lords, so that when Christ would come, he might both be acknowledged as God and be called Lord, because he is the Son of him who is both God and Lord" (Against Praxeas 13:6)
200 AD Tertullian "The Spirit is God, and the Word is God, because proceeding from God, but yet is not actually the very same as He from whom He proceeds.." (Against Praxeas, ch 26)@@777Tralfaz777

I too was born and raised a jw . I remember the day in March 2018 when I resigned from jw like. I took my NWT bibles, both the old black 1984 version and the grey one as well and made a fire to burn them. After I set them to flame and they started burning I felt remorse and started killing the flame to rescue the bibles. I started praying and asking God to forgive me for burnings the bibles. Then out of the blue I heard this very loud audible voice and it said “HE WHO DENIES THE FATHER AND THE SON IS THE ANTICHRIST”. There was nobody near me to have said this and in fact the voice sounded exactly like my own, but very loud and audible. I thereafter continued burning the bibles.

My sister became a JW in her mid twenties. She craved the sense of "community" and belonging which they surely provided. HOWEVER, this community was/is largely confined to their JW network alone. At my nieces (sister's daughter's) high school graduation, my sister invited me to a celebration gathering-comprised almost exclusively of their JW friends. When it was "found out" that I was a family member and NOT a JW, the room suddenly fell silent. Of course, I didn't ask them why but I knew...

To all the people on here who were once Jehovah's witnesses welcome to the family of Christ. Now do you all believe now what we said before that Christ Jesus himself is God In the flesh and he claimed it. Jesus said that he was the way the truth and the life, not the watchtower or the magazine that they use. The watchtower has told you guys to reject what scripture says, because it doesn't fit their doctrine. I spoke to a Jehovah's witness woman couple weeks ago as a matter of fact, and she said that Jesus is not God but he created being, I asked her to show me where it says that she said in Colossians 1:15. Today you guys are all going to learn something, the term first born does not mean first created it means preeminence prototokos in Greek. Also I'm so glad that you left your organization, and here's why. In your organization they have said that Jehovah God is never called mighty because that would make him less powerful but here's what their flaw is Jeremiah 32:18 in the New World Translation verifies that Jehovah by name is mighty, so does Deuteronomy 10:17 in the New World Translation. They told you for the longest time that Christians like myself pastor Mike winger Alan Parr, Dr James White Peter, Paul, thomas, matthew, matthias, John etc we're all wrong and rewrote the Bible. That is simply not true at all, the Bible has not been rewritten over time there has been spelling errors, however the Bible has not been rewritten over time. The original copies that we have are the original Hebrew copies and the Greek New Testament copies we have English Spanish all these other languages but they're the original language of the Greek and Hebrew. We Do not bow down and worship the cross the cross is a symbol of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross at Calvary. They also told you that Christ Jesus did not rise physically from the dead when he did he appeared before his apostle showing his hands and feet to them, he asked Thomas to touch him the wound in his side and the nail marks in his hands and feet so he may believe, they also said that Thomas was using a cuss word when he wasn't he called Jesus my Lord and my God Jesus never rejected him for saying that. They also said it was wrong to claim that Jesus Christ himself should be worshiped even though Jesus is worshiped by all apostles all men and even the angels in heaven, Jesus is omniscient he's omnipotent and omnipresent, Jesus said wherever two or three are gathered in my name I will be there, he said I will be with you always even to the end of the age. Jesus offers eternal life not the watchtower and I'm so proud of all of you for leaving and getting out of there, Jesus is our great God and savior who was who is and who is to come the almighty God of the Old Testament. Jesus claimed in Revelation 22:13 that he was the Alpha and the Omega the first and the last quoting Isaiah 44:6 the beginning and the end. Jesus said that he shares the same Glory with God the father in John 17:5, he also said that him and the father are one in nature and essence. Titus 2:13 says we are waiting on our blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and savior Jesus Christ. In Colossians 1:15 verse 17 it says that Jesus created all things whether thrones or dominions or rulers are all principalities Jesus is the Lord of all. Romans 9:5 says that Jesus Christ is God over all, Philippians 2:5 says before Jesus took on human flesh he existed in the form of God, Philippians 2:11 says every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord which is the name of God according to Psalm 83:18 and every knee shall bow before him in heaven on Earth and under the Earth. Jesus said no one has ever seen the father but God in the Old Testament was seen but it was not the father how awesome is that how awesome our God is that he can be the father Son and Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30 says do not grieve the holy spirit of God, Acts chapter 5 verse 3 and verse 4 says and this is Peter speaking he says to Ananias why has Satan giving you the ability to lie to the Holy Spirit, you have not only lied to men but to God. Jehovah's witnesses told you in the watchtower told you that the Holy Spirit was God's active Force, my question is how can you lie to an active Force you can't Peter just verified and also Ephesians 4:30 just verified that the Holy Spirit himself is God. I'm so proud of all of you for giving your life to Christ and repenting and turning away from this false organization, pray for those who are still in this organization who are listening to these lies this deceit. Pray to the Lord and ask them to come out ask the Lord to please harden their hearts to understand and come to the knowledge of Truth and have them turn away from this organization. Pray for them all. And like I said to all of you thank you for giving your life to Christ, also you will never be shunned by your true Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, you are now Brothers and sisters in Christ. I will tell you right now as Christians, pastor Mike winger and I and Allen Parr are all here to answer whatever question you are not understanding and we are not going to be upset with you and we are not going to shun you for asking asking a question that is ridiculous.

@@neutrino78x With what proof do you back up that statement that JWs do not teach love?
JWs do not not get involved in politics, which is divided in hate and anger. They do not go out and protest, which is divided in hate and anger and violence. They do not join or support in the military and wars, which is divided in hate and anger and violence and killing.
But every other "christian" religion does. Which means Catholics kill Catholics, Protestants killing other Protestants, Mormons killing other Mormons, and non-denominational killing other non-denominational. Jesus commanded his followers not be part of the world.
JWs are known for their preaching and teaching. Something Jesus commanded to do. Which shows their love for others, as they want everyone to know the truth.
Jesus said you would know the true religion by its fruits. A good tree produces good fruit and a rotten tree produces rotten fruit. As we are all imperfect and fall short, JWs then are the most loving organization there is. All the others will be asking Jesus why they aren't saved at the end.
      (See Mt. 7:13-23)
JWs are not happy when people die. But there is a scripture that does say those who live by the sword will die by the sword. (Mt. 26:52) So violent people may die violently. Thats sad, but its what happens because of their choices.
So JWs do not hate people, they hate the bad that they do. But each one will be judged for his or her actions. And what those particular Jews, and those pharisees, did in having Jesus beat and killed was despicable. These were the ones that Jesus called offspring of vipers for their attitudes and actions.

It wasn't having the theology refuted that got me out of being a JW, it was the feeling of having to earn your place in the congregation, all those hours in service, and the feeling that you could slip up and be labelled "bad association" so easily. It was exhausting.
Then I read H M Sealey's Kingdom Rising series and I saw, in her fictious cult "the called and chosen" everything the JWs were, and I realised with massive relief, that that wasn't the way.
This passage really spoke to me.
"Life in the Called and Chosen was a never-ending uphill trudge of proving oneself better than everyone else, of being more holy and more righteous and more hard-working and more humble and thus bringing glory to the name of the church.
Yet what she did one day counted for nothing the next, not unless it was something bad, and then it would haunt her forever. There was no way of storing up points, every day was a clean slate, and the possibility of displeasing the elders each time the sun rose was a constant reality.
Maddie had seen people serve the Called and Chosen tirelessly for years, even decades, then to slip up just once, and lose their respect and their place in the congregation.
And it was so easy to slip up. A wrong word, a wrong thought, wearing a skirt an inch too short, showing sympathy for a sinner, missing a meeting at the hall, questioning a doctrine, the list was endless.
She had never had a break. Never simply stood outside and listened to the birds or watched the flowers. The world, she had believed, was evil, and the only safe place was in that miserable Fellowship Hall where the women watched for weaknesses in their brothers and sisters like hawks in pearls and sensible shoes."

Do let up. Keep asking them how many God's are there? Is Jesus a false God? Don't let them change the subject. The bible calls Jesus a "Mighty God", their own Bible. Either Jesus is God or a false God. It works out poorly for them either way.

By combining the vowel signs of 'Adho.nay and 'Elo.him' with the four consonants of the Tetragrammaton the pronunciations Yeho.wah' and Yehowih' were formed. The first of these provided the basis for the Latinized form "Jehova(h)." The first recorded use of this form dates from the thirteenth century C.E. Raymundus Martini, a Spanish monk of the Dominican Order, used it in his book Pugeo Fidei of the year 1270. *Hebrew scholars generally favor "Yahweh" as the most likely pronunciation.*

Here is what your JW masters have officially admitted to about the word "Jehovah": In the introductory material in the Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures published by the Watchtower Society, on page 23 of the 1969 edition, it says: "While inclining to view the pronunciation 'Yahweh' as the more correct way, we have retained the form 'Jehovah' because of people's familiarity with it since the 14th century."
Let's be clear about this: They're pretty much saying, "Since we've been mispronouncing God's name for a long time, we might as well keep on doing it".
For a group that has made and still makes such a HUGE deal about Jehovah being the true and proper name of God and must be used, that simply, flat out doesn't make sense.
Or, what about another Watchtower publication, "Aid to Bible Understanding", which says on page 885 of its 1971 edition that Yahweh is "the most likely pronunciation" of the Hebrew letters YHWH.
      Same point as before.
If Jehovah's Witness leaders were saying almost 50 years years ago that "Yahweh" is the more correct pronunciation, then why has not the organization started calling itself "Yahweh's Witnesses"? Shouldn't they be using the correct pronunciation? Even the JW masters admit that "Jehovah" isn't correct.
Here's another quote from your JW masters: "Yahweh . .. is admittedly superior to Jehovah. 'The wrong spelling Jehovah occurs since about 1100' and then it offers its arguments in favor of Yahweh as the correct and original pronunciation." (Let Your Name Be Sanctified, Jehovah's Witnesses, p 16-20) See the words "wrong spelling" there? That is an absolutely SPECTACULAR admission on the part of your masters!
Here's another quote from your masters: "The first recorded use of this form [Jehovah] dates from the thirteenth century C.E. Raymundus Martini, a Spanish [Roman Catholic] monk of the Dominican Order, used it in his book Pugeo Fidei of the year 1270 C.E." (Aid To Bible Understanding, 1971, p. 884-5).
So - The word "Jehovah" was made by a Roman Catholic monk in the middle ages. So, whenever the JW cult insists and demands about the word being the true and proper name of God and must be used, they are insisting and demanding using a word that came by way of someone who was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church!

Hi! I only want to tell you about an incident that happened one night at my job as an RN. (but the text ended up way long!) One of my patients that night needed to have a Foley catheter placed, for whatever reason. I think it was because she couldn't pee on her own due to a UTI. In any case, she refused to allow me to insert one. In an hour or so, she was complaining that her discomfort was worsening. We weren't swamped that night so I went to her & we had a fairly long discussion. She told me that she was a JW & that placing a catheter up inside her BLADDER would keep her from entering Paradise, forever! I explained 9 ways 'til Sunday WHY the doctor ordered it & why it was necessary for her health & comfort, & that a Foley catheter has NOTHING to do with sexual behavior!! There's nothing dirty about it! Plus I had the MWS book Friends Are Friends..., essentially a topical Bible. I went through passage after passage from the aspect of several topics which could pertain to her situation. (I used that book at work so much that it began to fall apart! It was the perfect size to fit in a pocket of my scrub tops!) It took several hours for her to be in sufficient pain for her to finally agree, & to accept that placement of a medical device would NOT make her ineligible for Paradise! She felt such immediate relief! I was so thankful the Lord had used me & my little book to help this sweet little old lady! Little did I know that a few MORE hours later, near the end of that 12-hr shift, she was crying her eyes out, "because now I'll never be allowed into Paradise!!" Such a sad, but true, story! That was over 20 yrs ago, & my memory isn't so great anymore, but 75% or more of the detailed memory of that story is still as fresh as if it happened THIS MORNING! I don't understand HOW or WHY any "religious higher-up" would not only allow a member to deny anything to lessen pain & improve health, but essentially ORDER them to refuse that help! I realize that sometimes God allows us to go through hard times, but He doesn't say, "don't use those doctors & nurses whom *I* have called for just such a purpose! Don't use any of the "miraculous" treatments or devices that *I* led these professionals to find or invent! Just go ahead & hurt! Let it go untreated! Either way, you're gonna die one day anyway!" It reminds me of the guy whose boat is sinking & he can't swim, so he prays "God, save me!". In time a fisherman in a rowboat stops to rescue him, "no thanks, I'm waiting for God". Then a sporty cruiser stops, "no thanks..." lastly a big fancy yacht stops, but gets the same "no thanks..." the 1st two got. The man goes down for the last time & he comes to at the foot of the Throne & yells at God, "WHY didn't You save me? I prayed & had faith that YOU would save me! But You didn't!! WHY?? That would've been a great ending to my testimony!" God replied, "who do you think sent the rowboat, the cruiser, & the yacht?" JW's, & a few other denominations i know of & some I've worked with, sound an awful lot like this ungrateful man! Similarly a SDA new grad who said, "IDKY Y'all keep going on about "getting saved"! Jesus died for everyone, so everyone is saved!" You know, I may not understand EVERYTHING the Bible tells me, but I don't skip it, or worse change it, just b/c I don't understand! That's not a publishers-problem or a God-problem! That's a ME problem! And I need to "be a Berean", keep at it, read it, praying for wisdom, until I DO understand, or until God says I don't NEED to understand it, yet! BTW, if it matters, I am somewhere between S. Baptist & Independent Baptist. I knew nothing but SBC as a child & teen, before the organization became politicized! I live in the Buckle of the Bible Belt,

Thank you for this. I am a bit unclear as to how my UA-cam-rabbit-hole-plunge landed me here, but I am grateful it did. I am not a Christian - much more of a Neo-pagan, actually. But I encounter JWs soooo frequently in my neighborhood, and I most often feel sadness for them. And empathy. But mostly love. There seems to be a real panic in their pamphleteering, and I can relate because I grew up in Evangelical Christianity - with "witnessing" being a panicky duty for me more than it ever was a belief. I always felt like an insincere huckster when knocking on doors, and I similarly slogged and delayed in the way the JW's do. Not because of expected (and warranted) verbal abuse - but because I simply could not wrap my head around the idea that God, the all-powerful Creator of the universe, needed a salesman. And it was much more about logging time - punching a time card to fulfill my church duty. I get where you are coming from, and I am sure we will disagree on ideas of Biblical authority & literalism. But love is key. It always has been, and I appreciate your notion of approaching annoying proselytizers with simple compassion and love. Love of human souls - all of us confused, and all of us certain in our ways. But the message of Jesus of Nazareth was (mostly) one of pure love. If "Christianity" were called "Jesusinity" I would most likely be on board. I take Jesus' idea of ekklesia as expressed in communal living and spiritual practice powerfully seriously. When I was an evangelical teenager, duty-bound, ignorant of the true message of the Book of James - knocking on strangers' doors, I mostly encountered puzzled souls, interrupting their dinner or TV. Most politely told me they were not interested - to my relief. Because I simply did not buy what I was selling. I suspect many JWs are there too. LOVE, simple love. It is all we all seek. Belief is a contract with faith. It is not my business to de-convert. Just to show love. And hope that fellow souls find their way to meaning without a panicky fright of hell or other condemnation.

As a former JW, I really appreciated this video. I got baptised as a Christian last weekend. I give God all the glory in showing me 'the truth' about what JW's call 'the truth' and for the justification and regeneration we receive through the intercession of christ and his shed blood. The one thing I want to point out in regards to this video is that the JW's no longer view Russell's "Studies in the Scriptures" as authoritative. They consider their old, out of print books and publications as "Old Light". THat said, they still subscribe to a works-based system of salvation clinging desperately to James 2 without understanding true grace. Thanks MIke for all that you've done to spread the Gospel and to shine a light on the darkness that enslaves so many who think they know Christ but in reality only know the doctrines of men. God Bless you and your family.

    • @MrMore470
      @MrMore470 4 місяці тому +1

@StretchMn He might now think it means we just need to believe and not think about or do good works.
Maybe he came to realize James was obviously mistaken when he said
(Verse 18)"and I will shew thee my faith BY my works."
He actually was ment to say, believing is enough..
like it say in verse 19
"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well....."
Oh wait, it carries on....." the devils also believe, and tremble."
Yip, believing is a good start but knowledge leads to faith which leads to actions... surely.
Why are so many Christians so put off by the idea of working for God?
      Surely it's a privilege?

      @benmmm7359 awesome study.
It really highlights the importance of reading the whole book, or at least chapter, to get an idea of context.
Often one verse can mean anything.
Paul explains categorically what "works" he is discussing..
      King James Version
      Galatians 2:16
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."
James was talking about a different type of "works"..the things we do as Christians in imitation of Christ.
If we don't do these works, our faith is dead. (James2:17)
You know this but so should the guy who wrote the first comment...
But dead faith maybe? Maybe not proving anything for himself?
It amazes me why someone who was a servant of Jehovah would come here and agree with a guy they 100% know is not truthful in his description of "our beliefs"..
      It's all a bit weird.
Maybe he never was a JW.

Very true. Consider the following statement that was written by the Watchtower:
*”From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah's people those, who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago..."* The Watchtower, Aug. 15, 1981.
So - according to this statement, if you only read the Bible, you will believe in things such as the Deity of Christ because that is exactly what the Watchtower is referring to here when it says "apostate doctrines." In other words, *if you read the Bible by itself you will not arrive at Watchtower doctrines.* This is an amazing admission by the JW masters. They are doing nothing less than flat out admitting that Jehovah's Witnesses do not get their teachings from the Bible, but from the JW masters in the Watchtower literature.

As for Acts 8, it's easy to understand that: The man didn't know about Christ and so Philip told him. And the Christ that Philip told him about was the BIBLICAL Christ Philip personally knew and not the false, unbiblical Christ of the JWs. The quote says what it says, and you can't do anything about it: The JW masters have _admitted in writing_ that *a person will not arrive at JW beliefs by reading the Scriptures - They will arrive at Christian beliefs.*
Regarding Philip and Christ - Here is John 14:8-9: 8 Philip said to him: “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him: “Even after I have been with you men for such a long time, Philip, have you not come to know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How is it you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Question: Who is "the Father"? What/Who is being referred to by that phrase?
Obvious Answer: God Himself. Considering the context of who and what Philip is - a Jew - There is no other honest way to understand the phrase in Philip's request. This is not refutable.
Jesus, knowing full well who and what Philip is and the only possible meaning to his request, straightforwardly tells Philip, "If you've seen Me, you've seen Him. If you've seen me, you've seen God Himself." There is no other honest way to take that answer.
Jesus Christ openly declares that seeing Him = Seeing God Himself.
He made the same open declaration in John 12:45.
JWs say that Jesus is Michael the archangel. No, that doesn't work, and it doesn't work BIG TIME. Here's why that's true:
Michael's name means "Who Is Like God?"
      Obvious answer: NO ONE.
There is NO way that Michael would have made the claim for himself that Jesus makes in verse 9. He would have been...
      a) going directly against the meaning of his own name, and
      b) committing blasphemy.
Add to this the fact that there is no verse in the Bible that states that Jesus is really Michael.
Add to this the fact that Michael would NEVER receive for himself the declaration of Thomas in John 20:28.
And there are _plenty_ of other Scriptures that show and prove the Deity of Christ.
Thanks for bringing up Philip, Jerry. You yourself have helped prove that JWs don't really study the Bible. If they _did_ they would very, very easily see what it says.

Throughout the entire Bible, God has always had chosen individuals to guide the rest of the body (ancient Israel and first-second century AD Christians). Among the those taking the lead, there were also others with privileges but not elders or overseers. It's all in Gods Word. God has always had a "governing body." It's all very obvious and simple, just read the Christian Scriptures carefully. What these 'leaders' said, went, or else false Christians were dismissed from the congregation, and from Israel. It has always been like that because God is holy and doesn't allow for disunity and self to be part of his Earthly kingdom. It's all in Gods Word. Jehovah God is eternal, he was not created. So, everything that was created (clearly that leaves God out) came through Jesus. Jesus was the foreman, the General manager, etc. It stuns me that you people can't see or understand this very simple and obvious reasoning backed up by Gods word. "they changed the Bible..."? Excuse yourselves, but every Bible out there was made erroneously. What JWs did is put Gods name, Jehovah, back into it correctly and properly. The rest of the small but important changes were done because they came to find more and more correct information as the decades went by, "The Dead Sea Scrolls" is one fine example, where Gods name is found some seven thousand times, all in praise worthy ways. Punctuation and some adverbs and conjunctions were not used in ancient Hebrew: they properly corrected those inconveniences. Matthew 28:19, 20 says "Go...make disciples of peoples of ALL the nations..." and Matthew 24:14 says "this good news of the kingdom WILL be preached in ALL the inhabited Earth, for a witness to ALL the nations..." That means that because Gods people have always been unified, 'of same mind, of same heart, of same spirit,' the good news must mean everyone in Gods Earthly organization must believe the same message. You guys are funny how you refuse these very obvious truths. It's "universally known by scholars this [The New world Translation] is not a good translation." The world surely is in the grip of Satans hands. Jesus and his followers were called a cult back then, they were laughed at, they were mocked, by the world of common people and religious people. The same back then, the same today in "the last days." Daniel 12:7-10 describes you guys, that you wont understand because you choose not to, and that in the last days Gods people will return. Isaiah 2:2-4 backs that up, that pure worship would return in the last days. Acts 15:14-18 backs that it up, too. And many, many more Scriptures. Gods name will be in the name of his people. You guys choose to ignore these very basic but life-saving truths. Jesus did die for ever as a human being: he did "the will of God" and "accomplished" what he was sent to do. Jesus will now and eternally be a spirit being, as he was before he came to Earth. It's in Gods word. It is true that they have made some errors, but they FIX their errors, unlike every, and that means all other religions, who don't fix their many errors. JWs make progress, just as Israel and first century AD Christians were. God does have a chosen people, and Jews deny Jesus so it can not possibly be them. The Scriptures I posted above identifies JWs as Gods chosen people. You can bash and trash them, but it makes them very, very happy because they do it all for God and Jesus. their lives are secondary. It is all Scriptural. "The Great Tribulation" is without fail coming. "I am Jehovah, and I am a God exacting exclusive devotion" states God. First and second century Christians were being mocked, harassed, beaten, imprisoned, persecuted, tortured and murdered, for "abstaining from blood," for abstaining from having idols of ANY sort, for abstaining from all holidays and such festivities, and for peaching and teaching the good news of Gods kingdom relentlessly. Acts 6:-7 was written for a reason (the case of Stephen), as are all Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). They didn't pray to saints. They used Gods name. They were, as this dude in the video belittles JWs for doing today, an isolated, "insulated" people, Gods chosen people. When this system ends, JWs will move on into the paradise Earth God has promised, and will live as perfect beings on it for ever and ever. Those who ignored Jehovah and his message, will unfortunately pass away for ever and be forever forgotten. It's all in Gods word. You can nit pick JWs, but the truth, as I just proved the video a lie or deceptive, is with JWs. They are Gods people.

The sect known as “Jehovah’s Witnesses” had its beginning in the late 1800’s with a man named Charles Taze Russell. Russell taught Christ would return to the earth in 1914. The fact that He did not return proved Russell was a false prophet (Deuteronomy 18:21,22); (Matthew 24:36-51).

Signs are symbols, which are pictures, which are marks, are all Man-made, yet most people even Christians don't see them for what they're, the Chicago manual style of English will tell you they are ASL American sign language, mostly used by the deaf or mute.
Yet we see them everywhere, they're the language of corporations, there's one above every business, and most churches are registered businesses, even if they are not for profit.
Those first Christians understood, and never accepted the mark, even if it meant being thrown to the lions, they wouldn't accept being registered.
They had their faith in the Lord God, through the Messiah, and understood that you can't serve to masters.
I don't fully understand the Amish belief, but they live simply, that they believe that God has a personal and abiding interest in their lives.
They live in private and not public, they plant their crops and have faith in the good Lord to give them what they need when they need it, it's called faith.
They probably still record birth, death, etc in their family Bible, and not with the authorities.
What did the first Christians do? Them apostles, when becoming disciples? Going from students to becoming teachers, they either sold or gave away their possessions, and gave them to the poor.
If we all took a leaf out of that book, no one would be wanting for anything, if only the Christians did that, that is what Jesus taught us to do.
We are all being deceived in one way or another, through wickedness and we know who is behind that, none of us is perfect, if only we were?
A lot of it is done with the trickery of language, people should arm themselves with fully understanding whatever Bible they believe in, understanding what correct grammar of the language they are using, so as not to be sweetened with honeyed words, that mislead you by not knowing what is grammatically correct by not answering for the legal fiction (man-made) name called a person.
As written in Act 10:34 (King James Version of the Bible)
34: Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.
Peter gain the knowledge that the word person was an assumed character, man-made, artificial entity.
Person (n.) Directly from Latin persona "human being, person, personage; a part in a drama, assumed character," originally " a mask, a false face," such as those of wood or clay wore by actors in later Roman theatre (etymology dictionary).
Just in case you're wondering, I do not conform to any know organised church other than what Jesus preached, yet one of my brother's, my two sisters, five nephews and three nieces are Jehovah's witnesses, and so was my mother before she died.
I know I have my faults, and see many in most other people, do you? Or any other Christian reading this?
As in life, it's there to be lived, the creator gave us life to be free, the freedom of free will, and in the end, we all have to account for ourselves on the day of judgement.
We will be speaking for ourselves, no one else can speak for us, we all walk the path, but is it the right path?
Never allow yourself to be deceived by anyone, think for yourself and come to your understanding of what is truth.
I question myself all the time, yet I know my flaws, most Christians don't, they lack all-around knowledge of the real world, it's not just what is written.

22 when they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
You misunderstand what those scriptures are telling you, if you were to take a look at an etymology dictionary, you would have a greater understanding of those words, like "image and superscription".
Image (n.) C. 1200, "piece of statuary, an artificial representation that looks like a person or thing," from Old French image "image, likeness; figure, drawing, portrait, reflection; statue," earlier imagine (11c.), From Latin imagine (nominative imago) " copy, imitation, likeness, statue, picture,"

Superscription (n.) Late 14c., From Latin superscription (nominative superscription) "a writing above,"
You have to understand what the words you're reading mean by their definitions, you have to all-round knowledge of the language, scriptures, law your using, most people don't realise they can be misinterpreted.
Do you know no language is written in capitalise lettering, whether it's uppercase or lowercase or a mixture of both, no language?
What manual style of English are you using for your grammar?
For instance, it tells those who take a look at the Chicago manual style of English, it's the language of the illiterate because the only other people who use it are either mute or deaf, it's called ASL (American sign language) That is how they communicate with each other.
If you gave someone illiterate a written message, to the direction to go somewhere, they wouldn't understand, now if you used "sign," using arrows, picture, they are more likely to get to that destination.
If you want to be in the book of life, stop serving Caesar, and give yourself to the Lord God the creator, and stop being numbered by Caesar, eventually, this knowledge will be lost as written in Amos 8:11-13
11 behold the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

JWs go preaching as Jesus commanded. And when they go to a person's door and they are not interested, JWs are polite.
This is why Jesus said we would know the true religion based on their fruits or actions in Mt. 7:13-23.
You will see Mike making many accusations, some are true, and many are wrong. He lies and misrepresents.
Others will demand you "stay on topic" of the video and chastise you for saying anything else. So these posts can get contentious.

The devil can also masquerade as an angel of light, what does nice even mean?
      There are nice atheists too.
Nice doesn't mean your beliefs are on a solid foundation that will assure you of true eternal salvation.
The eternal destination of people's souls are at risk, these nice people included.
To be saved, Jesus cannot be a created being, a prophet, an angel, a human and so on.
In the first convenant, the life of an animal was accepted to pay for the life of a human to cover sins because the "wages (sentence) of sin is death", but they had to keep killing animals again and again because animals are finite created beings that also belong to this fallen world. Fallen blood to cover the sins of fallen people in front of a holy and perfect and infinite God. It was a temporary convenant.
In Leviticus, God States that the life of an animal is in its blood.
Jesus' blood being of divine origin, God himself, is why it can be used in the second convenant, one death to cover sins from then on to all of eternity, for billions of people, and uncountable sins... Just one death, one instance of that death justifies the world's sins if the world chooses Jesus. 📖Romans 6:23, Leviticus 17:11, 17:14, Hebrews 9:22,
If you deny that Jesus is who he says he is, you deny the very nature that makes this blood able to cover your sin. If you deny the way is the way, you're not on your way. 1 📖John 2:18-27
It's very dangerous from an eternal perspective. Souls are at risk.

An old preacher I knew was prepared for the JW's. When they came to the door he would get out a document, read it to them, and ask if they believed what it said. They always said "absolutely not." Then he would tell them it was their older material. I never got a copy of it but it may have had something about the deity of Christ. Apparently, their false doctrine has changed over the years and they worked the inconsistencies out of it.

What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
The “church” adopted pagan beliefs, started celebrating pagan holidays, created an hierarchy in the “church”, got involved in politics, and sought power to control people for centuries. All of that is contrary to what Jesus taught would identify his people.
Even “Christians” who are not Catholic still mostly follow the pagan doctrines adopted by the “church” like the trinity. Most of them still celebrate pagan holidays and try to claim they’re Christian holidays. They’ll have Easter Sunday but what is the origin of Easter? They celebrate Christmas, but what is the origin of Christmas? They get involved in politics and go to war, even with countries that have people of the same religion.
Ask yourself honestly if any of that behavior reflects the “fine fruit” that Jesus said would identify his people.
John 13:35 says Jesus disciples would be known by the love they have for one another.
Matthew 7:15-20 shows you will recognize people by the fruits they produce. Were the crusades “fine fruits”, or a quest for power? Is supporting worldly governments and sending your parishioners to the military “fine fruits”? Is accepting unmarried fornicators into your church so you can get the membership fees “fine fruits”.
John 17:14-16; John 15:19; and John 18:36 shows Jesus Kingdom and his people are “no part of this world”. What Christian religion today does not get involved in politics or support their people joining the military? What group of Christians today does not celebrate holidays that are widely accepted by the rest of the “world” but have known pagan or political origins? What group of people today produce “fine fruits” with a worldwide brotherhood that demonstrates genuine love? There is only one, Jehovah’s Witnesses.
What religion today continues to examine the Bible and adjust to what is learned instead of sticking to false teachings which were developed by the Catholic Church, influenced by Greek philosophies and pagan beliefs and forced on people through much controversy by political decree? Only Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Examine the Bible for yourself. Do the research in legitimate sources like encyclopedias, not blogs or the internet, and think for yourself instead of joining the masses, adopting what is popular or widely accepted.

I love the terminology you use; insulated social community. Sound better than cult and using this will break down barriers.
I think outsiders underestimate the level of fear within the community. Fair of not doing enough, fear of each other because people are encouraged to tell on each other and even themselves. The fear of natural human desires, the fear of not saving enough people and therefore being destroyed.
Even after I had left I thought I was still going to die, but I was so exhausted of not doing and being enough I didn't care. When I read the gospel and saw the love of Christ, I was so angry for what I was born into. But now through Christ I am finally free.
Thank you, I hope you save many JW souls.

    • @StretchMn
      @StretchMn Рік тому +2

So, first of all, are you disfellowshipped? Or just leave?
Second, let's break down each of your "accusations" and look to the Bible to see if it right.
      1. Fear of not doing enough.
That's false. JWs do everything out of love - love for Jehovah. Love for their brothers and sisters. Love of fellow man.
Lu. 21:1-4 is the example of a poor widow who put in everything she had. And Jesus praised her for it. Everyone has different circumstances. So we all do what we can with what we have.
But, we also do try our best to be obedient and follow all that the Bible says to do. Like preaching, which Jesus commanded we do.
Col. 1:10,11 - so as to walk worthily of Jehovah in order to please him fully as you go on bearing fruit in EVERY good WORK...
Col. 3:23 - Whatever you are doing, WORK at it whole-souled as for Jehovah
      2. Fear of each other. (Telling on each other)
Only the wicked worry about being found out. (Was that you?)
Paul said at Ro. 16:17: "keep your eye on, or mark (or identify) those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned (or apostates!) AND AVOID THEM!!!"
Which means to NOT associate with.
Paul said at 1 Co. 5:11: "...quit mixing in company (not fellowship) with anyone called a brother that is... not even eating with such a man (not fellowship)... Remove the wicked man from among yourselves. (not fellowship)
Mt. 18:15-17 - Moreover, if your brother commits a sin, go and reveal his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. If he does not listen to them, speak to the congregation. If he does not listen even to the congregation, let him be to you just as a man of the nations and as a tax collector.
      (Tax collectors were avoided)
      3. Fear of natural desires.
There is nothing wrong with natural desires. As long as they are in harmony with the bible.
1 Cor. 6:9,10 is a list of "desires" that are wrong, and if we practice them, we will not be in God's kingdom - Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
So yes, there is a fear of and fight against committing those wrong desires.
      4. Fear of not saving enough people.
      That's also false.
But, we love all and hope that as many as can will learn the truth and make it into God's kingdom. So we preach.
We can only spread the message to everyone. But we know not everyone will accept it. Only those that Jehovah draws. Because he knows their heart.
That includes those who are JWs.
So true worshippers, who love Jehovah and his son Jesus, will follow the bible and be obedient. Those who don't, do not and will not.
Remember Noah's day? Only a few survived, but many perished.
Mt. 24:37-39 - For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. and they took no note until the Flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be.
Oh, and one more thing. Fear. That too is a requirement.
Pr. 8:13 - The fear of Jehovah means the hating of bad
Pr. 16:6 - And by fearing Jehovah one turns away from bad.
Ecc. 12:13 - The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole obligation of man.
Ac. 10:35 - ...but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.

I didn’t say they were founded during that time period, it’s just when they rose to prominence. And I agree that they’re not associated with Latter-Day Saints. My whole point was just because two groups (JW and LDS) rose to prominence around the same time or place doesn’t mean they’re related. And it wasn’t even that close anyway. There’s a 50 year time gap between the origins of the two groups.

Except that the bible contains loads of contradictions, so you have to pick and choose what to follow anyway. For instance, is it morally wrong to kill children for the crimes of parents, or not? "Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin" (Deut. 24:16). "The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent's sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child's sins" (Eze.18:20). So why then does it claim that God told people to murder children and infants for the sins of their parents? "This is what the Lord Almighty says...Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys" (1 Sam. 15:2-3). Did a man lie about what he claims God told him, or is your God schizophrenic? Or is the bible filled with contradictions because it was written by a bunch of ancient religious fanatics who couldn't get their story straight?

@@jamiebatchelor2857 Jesus is not God in the flesh, that is a lie. Your KJV has many wrong renderings and this is one.
      Isaiah 9:6
The Bible also refers to the Son of God by the title “God.” At Isaiah 9:6 he is called “Mighty God.” But in the Bible, angels, humans, false gods, and Satan are also called “gods.” (Angels: Psalm 8:5) (Humans: Psalm 82:6) (Satan: 2 Corinthians 4:4.) In the Hebrew Scriptures, the word for “God,” ʼEl, simply means “Mighty One” or “Strong One.” The equivalent in the Greek Scriptures is the·osʹ.
Moreover, the Hebrew term used at Isaiah 9:6 shows a DEFINITE DISTINCTION between the Son and God. There the SON IS CALLED "MIGHTY GOD” ʼEl Gib·bohrʹ, not “Almighty God.” That term in Hebrew is ʼEl Shad·daiʹ and APPLIES UNIQUELY TO JEHOVAH GOD.
You can admit the JW's are right and you and your KJV are wrong anytime, but I doubt it.

Works- based, obedience to their leaders, not understanding the scriptures they have, insulated social community, etc... the lds isn't quite so conspiratorial, sounds like. For what? There’s a lot of unscriptural bias in this video as well as errors and lies. Ironically people are so blind they completely miss how Mike is supposedly refuting that Jesus is a created being but quotes scriptures that say Jesus is the firstborn of all creation and that all (other) things were created through Jesus. (Colossians 1:15-16) Notice through, not by?
1 Corinthians 8:6 tells us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things are. Notice that it says the Father is the one God? Notice that it says all things are from the Father. The Father is the source of life.
The verse continues and tells us there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are. Yes, the Father is the source of life and he used Jesus to help create everything else.
Jesus is called God’s only-begotten son (John 3:16) as well as “the firstborn of all creation” (Colossians 1:15). These words are translated literally. There is no hidden meaning. Jesus was the first being ever created. Proverbs 8:22-30 shows God created Jesus as the beginning of Hos way. Verse 30 says Jesus then worked alongside God as a master worker. Doing what? Helping create everything else.
That is why he is called the only- begotten son of God, because Jesus was the only being directly created by God. All others were created through Jesus.
Also, Mike mocks that Jehovah’s Witnesses say Jesus was resurrected as a spirit being, not in bodily form again.
1 Peter 3:18 says, “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;” (NASB)
According to this verse, Jesus was resurrected as a spirit being. He took on physical bodies when appearing to his disciples, but they also didn’t recognize him, so his appearance was probably a little different. Also, he appeared out of nowhere to show people he’d been resurrected and give them hope. (1 Corinthians 15:3-8)
Luke chapter 4 gives the accounts of Jesus appearing to his disciples on various occasions. He appeared out of nowhere and disappeared just as quickly, then at the end rose up to heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:50 shows that flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God. So when Jesus went up to heaven in front of his people, it was as a spirit being.
