This is always the piece that first comes to mind whenever I think of Diablo 2 - I think because, playing as a kid, going to an entirely new region with Wariv always felt like such an accomplishment.
For me it's the Blood Moor music, because I spent so much time just in the first act and I was constantly making new characters to try different builds.
Yes, for me this sounds like these cozy 70s/80s relaxing movies in western or star wars
Never thought Uelmen would be able to top the original Tristram track, but damn if I don’t love Toru to pieces. It’s so evocative.
When I first started playing D2, it took me almost 1 month to get to Lut Gholein because I was too afraid to step into Cold Plains half the time. Then I thought Andariel was the last boss of the game until the game ports me to Lut Gholein and I was instantly amazed with the change of environment.
good times were had when we were too scared to progress in the game lol.

Act 2 was my favorite act in Diablo 2, not only for getting lost wandering in the desert, or the amazing soundtrack, but this line as well. 🤣

The first 20 seconds are so damn intimidating. Kinda sounds like an alternative soundtrack from the movie Alien (1979). I love that warpy gong like instrument at 0:15

After finishing Act I and watching the intro movie for Act II this was just perfect.
So long as Matt Uelman is at the helm, the music for DIII can't fail.
This was the first moment in the Diablo series (1+2) where you could go somewhere else other than in and around the Monastery and surrounding woods . Like OMG this is a whole new game now. Mind blown.

It was a time where the music was supposed to describe the ambiance and feel of the game because graphics had a hard time doing that , nowadays music in VG development is considered subpar and being neglected due to modern graphics being what they are . Sad .
