Match 3 game 2: reanimating Djeru and Hazoret is more exciting, but reanimating Emrakul and annihilating their board was definitely the right play. The problem with Djeru is that it's as you said high risk high reward, but Emrakul is just high reward with no risk

For a long time, Unburial Rites was one of the premier reanimator spells in Modern. Djeru and Hazoret serves a similar function, while also being a respectable clock in its own right, in addition to providing a second way to cheat stuff into play.
This deck reminds me a lot of the Show and Tell Reanimator deck that is kicking around in Legacy. Being able to attack from both angles makes it difficult to sideboard against, and since the nut draw is an effective turn 2 win (and not all that hard to make happen), it should be a very potent shell.
replace spring leaf with Brainstone. You want a way to throw stuff back up on top to limit the amount of gamble

So confused why at 16:00 you didn't just discard Emrakul then when you were talking about it. You discard emrakul, untap draw, play a land discard a card and attack with Djieru and Hazoret. Missed a free attack with Dijeru and Hazoret

Game against tron, with 2 emrakuls in hand, decided to reanimate Djeru instead of Emrakul, fofeiting the game, and then say: this game is high risk high reward. Classid Seth. Could have won right there.
I play RB reanimator in Pauper.
Ideal line is T1- mountain, faithless looting pitching dragon breath and Ulamog's Crusher, T2- swamp, exhume returning crusher which brings dragon breath, giving it haste and then swing for annihilator 2 and 8 damage.
It's a similar concept, but waaay more fragile
I dunno, maybe Diabolic intent works better in this deck than Wishclaw talisman?
Djeru and Hazoret Boros has been one of my sleeper Standard brews from MOM. Hard to brew anything in the Rakdos(x) format, but fun when it does the thing

almost a decade ago I played a lot of modern and it was a turn 4 format, now i just constistently look at content creator playing it the power level just keep increasing, turn 3 modern is our reality now
At 21:07 when you were considering if Wishclaw could get anything relevant, why not tutor for Goryo's Vengeance and reanimate Atraxa? I feel like I'm missing something there, but I can't tell what.

Honestly in match 3 against tron, I think thoughtseize on 2 then goryo’s with emrakul on 3 could be better to get the opponent to run more stuff into the annihilator while clearing the way for the reanimation. Going for greed with Djeru was the most immediate way to potentially lose, especially after the second emrakul was drawn off the top.
This why I don't even call it Modern, I just call it Friday Night Eldrazi.

I wonder if these 1-of plan Bs are really worth robbing some consistency from the deck. Cragganwick cremator has to be a dead card in the deck most of the times.

i'm trying to brainstorm ways to make this not so dependent on having exactly goryo's vengeance. Summoner's pact? Olivia crimson bride/Sorin imperious bloodlord?
Sorin only puts out vamps I believe,Morphon works because of changeling.
@@gabeb9495 right, the hypothetical sorin is for use with the hypothetical Olivia. Not sure if there's enough other stuff to make it all work.
I actually think the deck can be superb with careful piloting and some maybe subtle changes, at least from the matches.

he explained in the deck tech that the wishclaw talisman supports the craggenwick cremator combo package... which you would definitely not want to have to wait 2 turns for

Not to be pedantic, but if you take an extra turn at turn 2 you win on turn 3.
At 26:07 I can respect (and have fun with) the content play... but when you after the play then complain about how unfair it was that you didn't hit anything I get kind of annoyed? You took the risky line instead of putting your opponent to 5, destroy all their lands and an expedition map. Again, I can respect it, but at least be like "Ooooh the content play betrayed us" or "We are playing Djeru and Hazoret in... Wiff: The Gathering".
Sometimes you take a wrong decision. Sometimes you think "God, I should NOT have made that play." You acknowledge your mistake, learn from it and ultimately become a better player.
Djeru and Hazoret is overrated.
In Vintage your opponent casts Ancestral Recall targeting you. You don't get to have haste; what a blowout.
On a more serious note: Only 6 targets? That means using naive mathematics you'd expect 1 legend every 10 cards and not every 6 cards. 4 Atraxa 4 Emrakul seem mandatory.
