Awesome. Straight to the point(s). Have been looking for a video easily demonstrating how to get into the split screen view and how it actually works.

Even on MF mode, i noticed my XT2 will AF when i half press the shutter. is there a way to bypass that? it seems kind of pointless to set to MF and adjust the focus dial on my lense when the AF is just going to kick in right before i take the pic

Good video. Go on with the simple examples. Have you any idea if there is a way to to focus manually on video by using the focus stick lever? Thank you for your time.

By focus stick lever do you mean the stick on the back of the camera? That is an interesting idea. There are some unique options for focusing using video vs. stills. When working with video, you can either manual focus during video (have your selector on "m" on the front of the camera and turn the focus ring on the lens). If you are using the AF-S or AF-C modes, the AF point/mode can not be changed once the video starts recording.

I am sorry, you are right, I was not clear enough. Yes I do mean the stick on the back of the camera. I have seen in a video the stick being used for focusing by moving the 'square' of focus with it and I think it was while recording but I honestly am not sure. And since I remember the 'square' of focus being visible then it must have been logically at manual mode, since on video I have only seen the focus 'square' only on manual and not in 's' or 'c' focus modes. Of course I do know about focusing on manual on video by turning the focus by hand. Anyway, thank you for answering and for your time.

I see white lines instead of red lines. How can I change the color of the lines?

To change the color of the focus peaking lines go to:AF/MF Menu>MF Assist>Focus Peaking Highlights. Hope this helps!

None of this applies to my XT2. Push in the dial and you get a zoomed square on the focus point. No split screen.

Make sure your camera is in manual focus mode (the little m on the front ot the camera)You need to press and hold for about 2secs for it to switch. If you just press and release it will zoom.

@@THORtography Yes, I finally got that figured out after some fumbling about. Now it all makes sense. Thanks for the response!
