Looking back at this theory after watching Matpat's Minecraft Legends Theory. Although that could debunk the Zombie theory, I remember that when the Nether portal opened, the surrounding area literally became the Nether. That might explain why the invaders didn't get the Virus, because the ecosystem was changed near the Portal, allowing the Piglins to survive, since it sterilized the area near the portal and the battle took place near the portal.
This theory is also very interesting when you look at the way Piglins react to Zombified Piglins. Like the previous creators did, Piglins run away from their Zombie counterparts.
4:16 Actually, zombies may spawn in the nether if a zombified piglin calls for reinforcements, as there is a small chance the spawnd reinforcements have a zombie.
just found this and it kinda proves matpat's theory and it is from the Minecraft news website "As you’re exploring the depths of the Nether, you’ll occasionally come across ancient debris, embedded deep within the rock. The remnant of some long-forgotten civilization" there ya go
Yeah, same with the ruined portals. Like of course the ancient civilization would build a lot of nether portals after finding it of use for resources, and then the nether portals would decay over time.
A “long forgotten civilization” doesn’t at all prove some sort of virus. We already know from bastions that piglins were the ones to make netherite, not players.
I can only repeat: Mojang's Updates lack a clear direction, and Lore could be this direction. But either way - and REGARDLESS if Matts Theorys are correct or not, truth and fact is, the World/s in Minecraft seem full of 'unifnished' Storys and 'Bad Ends' and such. I thought much about it and i believe that 'Permanent Change' is the one thing that we will need added. The concept of Permanent Change. Doesnt matter if Matt is right about the Enderman, let's just use them as an example cause they seem good use for that: I want to turn the Enderman back into Humans. Simply put, i dont like a huge world full of only Bad Ends and Unfinished, sad Storys, like the Drowned having Drowned. I want change stuff already.
Now you see I've read the book three times now and it still just feels like a bad minecraft fanfiction especially when the main character builds a ship not a boat what is said to be a full on ship and sail's away
Just to clarify one point, the origin of diseases wasn't cities. There were plenty of cities throughout America, from the Incan cities to the cities of the Mississippian civilizations. The origin was domesticated animals in the old world that didn't exist in the new world.
Fun fact, you can still catch a cold in the middle of a hot summer, the actual reason you're more likely to in winter isn't due to temperature, it's due to a shift in habbit brought on by winter
A shift in *whose* habit? ('habit', not 'habbit' which isn't a word) Also no, temperature *IS* a factor, as it affects the outer coating of a virus - warm weather melts it, while cold weather reinforces it.
@@Transformers2Fan1 That, and the fact that being cold absolutely weakens a human being's immune system, leaving them more vulnerable to infection. (That being said, being cold by yourself won't make you any more likely to get sick, because there's nobody around to cough germs at you.) As to Aldzarin's comment about changing habit, they were referring to the fact that in the winter, people tend to stay indoors with their room mates/family/etc., which leads to what MatPat was talking about, with tightly-packed people being a breeding ground for germs.
@@Transformers2Fan1 I think they meant that during the warmer weather, people are spread out in the open air, while in the colder weather people are crammed together in enclosed spaces.
Maybe once the zombies died and decayed away naturally, only leaving their skeletons, the illagers got a hold of them. The evokers did some bibbity boppity boo and there ya go, an alive skeleton for their armies. Although, they dont spawn skeletons in raids. Maybe the evoker made the skeleton into a vex? With feathers from chickens, and swords, making a potion, splashing it on the alive skeleton. Making it a vex. These are all just of my theories off of the top of my head.
4:18 The thing is that the zombie pigmen or ziglins uses the same AI as zombies for attacking players, as zombies can call reinforcements on hard difficulty, pigmen can too, mojang overlooked this and this is now fixed.
How can steve carry thousands upon thousands of kilograms of steel without getting slower. Steve is just that powerful and that STRONK. Thus him also being able to withstand very high temepratures such as the nether and very low temperatures such as snow biomes.
Even LIGHTING a nether portal will kill you. If things other than you can be sent through it, the heat will leak out from the nether, devastating the environment.
Well on earth we've had giant bugs before, during the prehistoric times where earth's oxygen levels where way higher, and some bugs size is basically directly proportional to the amount of oxygen available. Which could explain why the spiders and bees are way bigger than they should be, the Minecraft world just has alot of oxygen
So, given the lore discussed in the creeper & pyramid episode, I believe the husks were a product of the builders preserving life in their pyramids, similar to real life Egyptians, and the drowned were created as a result of being drowned in the ocean monument. I believe it was when the the wither was created that the first og zombies & og skeletons started appearing in the over world, and it only got worse when the illagers tried to revive the builders and created zombies.
One thing I find interesting about this theory, is the fact that when a piglin comes to the overworld it becomes a zombified piglin, but when a hoglin comes to the overworld it becomes a zoglin. However, a zombified piglin, is completely passive unless you hurt one, and zoglins are the most aggressive mob in the game, attacking almost every single other mob it encounters. Wonder if anyone has any thoughts or theories about why this happens?
Piglins are also easily distracted by gold, making them neutral if you're wearing at least one golden piece of armor. Their zombified variants are taking their docile nature and putting it to the max... unless of course you accidentally punch them. Hoglins are however, territorial, and thus will go after anyone or anything that invades their turf. Zoglins are pretty much the berserker variant of the Hoglin, going after almost anything.
Theory: There used to be more that one dragon Isn’t it a little weird how in the end there’s a dragon egg despite the fact that there’s only one dragon? Not only that but at the front of end ships you can find dragon heads. I believe that someone hunted down these dragons and used their wings to make the elytra. These dragons may have also lived in the nether which would explain why the soul sand valley is filled with giant rib cages
The piglins turn into zombie piglins because of the weather, Since there is not lava everywhere in the overworld, so they turn into zombie piglins because of the cold weather.
Hey matpat, I’m a bedrock player and well, u get zombie piglins in the nether. They are actually more common than normal ones. (Edit: I didn’t think Thai would get this much attention, thanks so much)
It wont exist because Zombies are not hostile to enderman due to not knowing if they are human or not. And plus even if zombies knew. Enderman has high immunity just like their former form.
Airborne Zombie Virus is Omnipresent in the Overworld. Maybe it was self-sustaining Airborne Virus that eventually adapted mid-air in the desert and turn people into Husk, and their virus even adapted underwater so... we have Drowned.

Notch probably cursed the Pigman civilization by lightning and went to the Nether. Jeb lifted the curse but he made the lightning curse the Villagers to turn them into Witch and when Piglin was created, Jeb force them into Nether and spread the self-sustaining airborne virus into Overworld. I still believe that the ancient builders ran to the end because of the wither, but sometime before that a zombie virus broke out that turned some of them into zombies, but then they got immune. So then they tried to toy with death to bring their deceased friends that died in the nether back to life and ended up creating the wither, causing them to flee to the end.
Yeah, I saw another comment saying maybe it evolved to survive in the nether, Also maybe they were exposed by the ancient builders and because of no previous immunities it effected them despite the heat.
"Make your own Lore" is just a lazy excuse. No, i actually want to know where the Zombies come from, and such. Good Lore is an amazing thing to have in a game and that's fact. And no secret also. With Lore, so much could be done in Minecraft. Mojang just needs this to proceed for real.
Hmm, let's see, we have Zombies, Husks, Drowned, Zombie Villagers, Zombie Horses, Zombie Pigs, hell you can even find Zombie Villages, villages that are infested with Zombie Villagers. Yeah, there's definitely a virus in Minecraft. It really is a Zombie apocalypse.
4:18, They can spawn in the Nether. When you attack a zombie, there a small chance one will spawn near by to aid that other zombie. If you attack a Zombified Piglin, that small chance is there. It’ll spawn a regular zombie in the Nether.
oke heres my theory, when the "old civilisation" came to the nether they encounterd the piglins. they had wars with each other. and the soul sand biomes are remnets of battlefields hence all the soul sand of fallen soldiers and the skeletons, the ghast are ghosts of the giant creatures where u can find the bones of. this also explaines why piglins are hostile towards the player. the zombified piglins in the nether got infected by the old builders when they came to the nether

And most importantly Lore

@@Nox_Lunatera That is true. However, being cold does make it easier to catch one, for multiple reasons.
this does leave room for a future theory: how did the zombie virus start. also we just need a video on skeletons.

That's actually a decent question. How don't we boil alive in the nether, even when we're standing 1 block away from a *lake* of *lava*
How can steve carry thousands upon thousands of kilograms of steel without getting slower.
Steve is just that powerful and that STRONK.
Thus him also being able to withstand very high temepratures such as the nether and very low temperatures such as snow biomes.
Hey dont worry about it
I can answer that question. The lava isn’t actually lava or magma at all
Even LIGHTING a nether portal will kill you. If things other than you can be sent through it, the heat will leak out from the nether, devastating the environment.
The villager statistic is just for normal mode (I think) In hard mode all villagers that are killed by zombies automatically turn to zombie villagers.
I think a theory on how Minecraft spiders got so large would be Interesting, as well as why you only get poisoned by cave spiders.
You only get poisoned by cave spiders because they are a different type of spider. Not all spiders are poisonous.
It may also be because when it comes to most animals, the smaller the animal of its type, the more poisonous it is.
This actually could be a good theory
we also need to know why they don't attack when the sun is out.

Well, they're entirely different species, perhaps they experience symptoms differently?
Hoglins are already hostile though, and being a zombie would make them more aggressive.
The one mob zoglins arent extremely aggressive towards is creepers, which is a design feature so your world isnt filled with creeper holes
Simple. If they didn't make zombiglins neutral, people would get angry since they'd have completely wiped zombie pigmen.
