I've learned a lot from you guys this year........thanks for that! I've also learned some people just love to criticise people who go to the trouble of posting videos for the betterment of others! Keep 'em coming gents and let's hope 2021 is better for all of us! Best Dave in freezing North Yorkshire
Recently had to do this around the house after we have some re-wiring completed. I used bonding on the deep chases which seemed to dry rock hard. Then used easifill as a couple of final top coats. Didn’t seem to flash when rubbed down and after a couple of watery emulsion coats on the filler followed by 2 full coats of the entire wall. Was done over a 3 day period so your tips are helpful to get it done when speed is needed. Happy Xmas.
They want to sack the spark. I'm an Electrician myself. Running cables around skirting level 😂😂😂 what an absolute cowboy. Hey ho! More work for you mate when you have to go back and do it again, when the Chippie nails through that cable and a real spark will have to run it in properly.
morning another amazing tutorial thanks super job as usual what paints do you use they seem to go on and finish perfectly everytime ?, also what roller would you recommend for emulsion please ,many thanks cheers.
I hate using expanding foam, but it's a nice idea to use little bits of it for structural support, rather than just filling in the gap. I wouldn;t have thought of that myself. How big would a gap have to be, before you'd decide to cut and insert a small section of drywall and then just plaster around the edges, rather than just plastering the cavity?
@@utubeape A lot of foam guns come with extra plastic bits that you place on the tip of the nozzle. You can get into those spaces you were talking about with those. But it is more expensive to maintain a foam gun.
No you don't that's old hat. This is tried and tested and we do it because jointing tape cracks. So many times we come across failed jointing tape. And when filling on a flat surface you don't want to add to the surface with tape and more filler and have a lump in your wall.. our way works and is a permanent fix. Cheers
@@cwuzii on conduit, quite essential. Plaster don’t stick to plastics. But since commented, I now just use a can of contact adhesive , spray on 20 mins later you can plaster. On a job, who has the time to sand, foam, wait for foam to set then fill… time is money

Thank you so much! Doing this exact job now for the first time. Cheers pal.
Your welcome thanks..
Foaming makes all the difference in this repair . Nice work
Thank you.
I am absolutely positive that every single one of your faithful Subs. said 'get the foam' out at around 1:00 - nice work !
Thank you.

Great instructional video, you guys are great.👍
Merry Xmas 🎄🎄 top chanel .
Thank you Merry Christmas
Top job as always. 👍🏻👍🏻😉
Thank you.
Whats the difference between polyfilla and the gyproc easifill? I've used some of the 20 minute easifill for nail holes and it seems to have worked.
Polyfilla is just better all round filler.
@@PaintingandDecoratingI’ve literally only ever seen people say the opposite.
Great videos guys. You should get yourself a foam gun, a lot easier than the straw gun. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas 🎅 will get a gun possibly you know how it is.
A gun is useful - but the flexible tube on a hand held can works better for a lot of jobs.
Hi I have had rewiring done in my living room. Can I use Knauf ProRoll Max plaster? I have some I used for another project. Thanks so much
If its just finish plaster no... you need undercoat plaster first... thanks
lovely job again ! but why 2 foam fills when only one needed !
Very good stuff.
Is that a room? You can't use foam in kitchens as it's not fire rated, is that correct?
Use fire foam then
Quality work
That cable along the floor isn't in a prescribed zone 😒
Merry Christmas 👍
Merry Christmas 🎅
Can you do this when rewired done in a Kitchen?
Yes
@@PaintingandDecorating is there no fire regulation re expanding foam?
@@justintemp yes but its save to use away from fires.
Stocking filler??
Happy Christmas lads.
Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year. sorry for late reply
Get a foam applicator gun! I'm honestly starting to think you're winding us up.
flexible tube is better, can get into nooks and crannys, and you dont have to keep wiping the nozzle

@@Khaled91 I looked into the guns, it seems like its for frequent use - to save money on the foam, as the cans with the plastic tube leak out
100% cracks within 3 months when the heating is on that will crack you have to use jointing tape / scrim tape

Nooice!
Absolutely no need for the foam, simply pva it, bond and easifill, you seem to like doing things the long and hard way.
How necessary is pva mate? I’ve got 10 to do, bonding and easifill or toupret. Wondering how necessary it is to pva?

@@cwuzii bonding 60 and a bit of dirty water, sets in lesss than 60 mins then. Then easifil can’t go wrong. In and out in half a day or less
@@tonygoshive785 thanks for the info! There isn’t conduit just wires, electrician didn’t put any, gonna have to get some plastic capping I think.
Just wondering why u wouldnt just use easifill and forget the bonding plaster? Im assuming a reason for that, thanks
