My 14 year old son is taking acting classes and has a passion for the art. He is determined to make this his career path. He is definitely talented, and we support him fully… but after watching a few of your videos, I’ve already told him he needs to start watching them because there is such rich information! Thank you so so much for putting together these videos for all of us newbies 😊
My son just started acting last year. He has booked two commercials , a feature film and a tv show pilot. I’ve watched so many of your videos and they have helped me to be a better Momager! Thanks so much, God bless & Godspeed.
That's awesome to hear! FYI - this is a book that I have seen recommended to Momagers like you: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013H6ZE68/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0

Once the director showed me some pictures on his phone I should copy. A few minutes later, I asked to see those pictures again. Nobody understood... "What pictures? Why?" Someone finally got it. "Reference. Show him the reference" Ah OK. Now I'll never forget "reference". I'm an American in Korea, so there is some communication difficulty anyway.
Years ago, a prospective agent in an initial interview said off-handedly that she wasnt going to ask me for a monolouge. I just fell into the one I had in my back pocket... she was so surprised she wouldn't let me leave till I signed with that agency. Monologues are but a tool and it's good to have one (or two) in your acting quiver. But I agree, scene study should be emphasized more and especially early.
I am so grateful I came across you and your page!!!! I can't express how much of a help you are! I am enrolling in the Houde school for June online and I am so excited!
Always helpful! Thanks! I learned several terms that I never heard before🤩. And solved my confusion about the meaning of ” breakdown”. What a wonderful day!
Thank you Kurt that was great terminology you have explained. I am just stepping this field and no idea about anything. So appreciate you making these videos and posting them ❤.
I’ve just stumbled onto your page!!! This is wonderful information!! All the questions I have, you are presenting in an organized, detailed way. They are a perfect length too!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!!
I’ve often wondered what these different terms meant… so helpful. Would love to see a continuation video on more additional acting and technical related terms. Thanks!
I have actually been searching for a great tutorials online like these, you have really done justice to all questions i have always wanted to ask. I'm super excited thank you so much sir.
It's amazing how many people you have inspired with this channel. If your ever in my area in wiI would love to treat you to starbucks! Your videos are so interesting and I can see how much work you actually put into your channel while having a career also. So it's the least I could do lol.
Wow!! What an amazing video, super informative, I took lots of notes!...after watching this I feel more comfortable about going to an audition. Thanks!!
I have a question,in the cheat sheet you told us to play with the script so try different emotions so my question is in the script does it say how to react ?
Acting Career Center I have a follow up question when you are in the audition and you picked a certain reaction does the person who is reading the other lines go along or they look at you in a bad way because that is one of my fears in acting
@@gertkryeziu1759 I agree with Alannah's answer. Make a choice and commit to it. Don't worry about doing it "right" because there is no such thing. Everyone has a different interpretation. The purpose of an audition is not to show that you can read the mind of the director and know what he/she wants to see. The purpose of the audition is to show that you can act. If they want you to react differently, they will tell you. If they give you a redirect, that doesn't mean you did anything wrong.
So great sir... very helpful. however i love to watch your videos... thank you for keeping us motivated and helping beginers to look forward to a better future!!!😍😀😊
Lots of these I’ve learned through theater the hard way lol. Can’t be afraid to ask questions, but definitely better to actually know what’s being said!
Acting Career Center Hmmmm. First one that comes to mind is upstage/downstage etc. But I myself am only just trying to make the leap from theatre/musical theatre into film so I suppose I’ll find out! Also I’m assuming it’s not bad luck to say Macbeth on a film set! 😆
Acting Career Center lol I grew up a dancer so when I started doing theater I made the mistake of mentioning The Scottish Play in a rehearsal and was met with many gasps and glares 😂
My reason for acting... Is to learn and understand ... Why lots things change for some people. And being able to remember past lives and why so many people all of a sudden have the same face.
Thank you for the videos they are so helpful! thank you so much I'm wondering if you have a video or could you possibly do a video on the proper way to slate. I've been told you should always smile at the beginning of your slate but I'm not sure if that's always appropriate? Thanks again really appreciate you!
You should definitely smile in your slate if it is for a commercial audition. If the audition is for a movie or a show, you can decide whether to smile or not based on your character
Love this video, helpful and clear as usual. 🙌 A little off topic but I wonder what your advice would be for someone just getting into the Atlanta film industry now, during this crazy time with the pandemic? I assume most things are on pause, but would you still recommended looking for online classes and places to self-submit video auditions? Or perhaps you recommend moving to Atlanta down the road because of a lack of work? Lmk, and really, thanks so much for all your work.
The pandemic is still evolving and nobody really has concrete answers right now so anything I would say would just be guessing on my part. Continuing to train via virtual classes is always a good idea. Self submitting to projects that are starting up is fine but if it is a non-union project, make sure to check if they are following all safety precautions. As far as moving goes, that's gotta be a personal decision for you. The lack of work is universal right now, not just Atlanta.
When you said "you can audition for a certain role then being offered another" or smth, you made me think about Sebastian Stan who audition for captain america but given the role of bucky because he had more of a dark presence or smth xD
First of all I really want to say thank you so much for these videos they are amazingly well done and very informative. for a self tape audition, if they ask for a tail slate, that means they want your audition and slate edited together into one video with your slate at the end.
I'm guessing that means a certain individual (usually an actor) needs to be wrapped at a specific time. For example, child labor laws may prohibit a 16 year old actor from working more than 8 hours on set. So if that actor had an 8am call time, we might say they have a "hard out" at 4pm.

I have a question, don't call backs imply the positive confirmation of one's selection after an audition?

If you have and agent they will notify the agent. If not, they will notify you directly.
