Bockwinkel is a wrestler, unlike the fruit loop bullshit today! He didnt pose, scream, swear, and act stupid like what you see now in WWE. He was the Albert Einstein of wrestling! Legend!
In 1979, a new pro wrestling publication hit newsstands and magazine racks across the nation. It was Pro Wrestling Illustrated. When the first issue went to press, Nick Bockwinkel was the American Wrestling Association (AWA) World Heavyweight Champion. He was also ranked at #6 in the Most Hated Wrestler category.
Nick could have been wwf and nwa world champion he was that good, didn't want the travel being nwa champ , would have being great as wwf champ instead of Backland . One of the true best of all time, 30 + year career , second generation wrestler . A true wrestler and man . R.I.P Nicholas Warren Francis "Nick" Bockwinkel
Every Sunday in Chicago back in the 80s on channel 26 these 2 guys always started trouble.... And they were very good at it. WWE have your bookers and heels study videos on bockwinkel and heenan! They knew how to draw heat!
@@josephcebelinski1968 What shocked me about Bob Luce was that he was never the promoter in Chicago in real life. He was hired to get publicity on tv for the wrestlers for their upcoming matches. Bruiser, Snyder and Gagne hired him as a front. Bob was let go from his duties in 1983 and put on his own show (to ch 26 from ch 44) for 30 minutes. I heard from good sources that he was a very bitter man for being let go by the big three.
Bockwinkle and Heenan were two smart and classy guys who played well off each other. Bockwinkle spoke more like an executive than a wrestler. Compare a Bockwinkle promo with a Hogan promo. Hogan's are the same and bland while Bockwinkle's are entertaining. And Heenan was a comedic genius with his one-liners and quips. Wrestling has never been the same without them.
Gentlemen I don't want to interrupt your private conversation, Bockwinkel: Don't I love it AWA Midwest wrestling was the best from Winnipeg to Chicago to Minneapolis and Denver their stars built WWE
No one better than tricky Nicky bockwinkle. I can't remember but someone once said, ask nick bockwinkle the time and he will tell you how to build a watch
Bockwinkel had to be one of the few that could make Heenan, one of the greatest promo men in this business, come across as a sputtering lackey. Those two were positively golden.
Nick Bockwinkel on the microphone was pure gold!
Yep one of my fav heels
Rest In Peace Nick Bockwinkel, A classy man in and out of the ring.
def
Nick Bockwinkel was one of the greatest on the mic. He was one of the greatest in the ring, too.
AWA Every 3rd thursday at the Winnipeg arena in the 70's. Got to see all the greats including Nick.
Whenever I'm feeling down I put on a Nick Bockwinkel promo just so I can hear Bobby Heenan in his prime say something off the wall. Great stuff.
RIP. If there was a mount rushmore of AWA legends, Bockwinklel would be there.
Thats for sure, and it should be called Mount Bockwinkel! If there was a wrestling walk of fame he would be there to.
Bockwinkel is a wrestler, unlike the fruit loop bullshit today! He didnt pose, scream, swear, and act stupid like what you see now in WWE. He was the Albert Einstein of wrestling! Legend!
@@danielauer9307 He's was brains, skill, and class all put into probably the most lovable heel in Wrestling history.
Rest in peace Nick. You will be sorely missed beyond words.

Arguably the greatest of all time
Bockwinkel is my favorite at cutting old school promos, along with Ole Anderson.
I have been watching this channel a lot for the past 3 days. I love pro wrestling. Nick Bockwinkel was one of the greatest

Chris Jericho admitted his amazing 2008-2010 heel run was ripped off from Nick Bockwinkel.

If Bockwinkel would of been 10 years younger......he was a great interview
the man you loved to hate. one of kind.
RIP, Nick.
This man was a genius. Nuff said.
rip Nick see you when I get there
Rip I remember a lot of his matches one in particular against Tito Santana down in Houston.
Every heel needs to study these promos.
Nick was a fuckin classy champion
Gentlemen I don't want to interrupt your private conversation, Bockwinkel: Don't
I love it AWA Midwest wrestling was the best from Winnipeg to Chicago to Minneapolis and Denver their stars built WWE
Mean Gene Okerlund and Bobby the Brain Heenan worked together for a very long time
Preach It Nick...
No one better than tricky Nicky bockwinkle. I can't remember but someone once said, ask nick bockwinkle the time and he will tell you how to build a watch
Joe Pearson some say it was Bobby Heenan, others said it was Zbyszko
+Maravi Yoso Heenan. It's in his book.
Was that Sir Robert of Heenan with him?
Crabby Old Gamer yes he managed Bockwinkle
He is better mic than Roman Reigns.
RIP Nick and Bobby
R.I.P
Two dead guys , being interviewed by a dead guy, talking about another dead guy. They have all earned their peace.
I always though he would have been a fantastic manager. the WWE needs a few good managers now.
It's rough when you realize that these 3 men are all gone now

Dam he was good!

Nick Bockwinkel was a contestant on the November 14, 2015 episode of the game show Celebrity Bucket Kickers.

+Harry Mann Jr bro I wasn't talking about you... if I was I would have tagged your name smh
+Harry Mann Jr it's fine let's just admire of the work of nick
Blackburn and the championship committee were out to get Bockwinkel. They didn't appreciate the greatness of the champion
