    This is a REAL TIME process video of me rigging and animating this jellyfish as a supplement to my more in depth tutorial, complete with showing me thinking for a few minutes and nothing happening on screen a few times 😅 Keep in mind, since I only wanted to show how one would think about rigging and animating this guy, this is not a polished animation and does NOT have good mesh topology or weights. PLEASE do not follow what I'm doing here for the mesh and weights and do BETTER than I do!!
    Hopefully this gives you a good idea on how long something like this would actually take someone and make you feel a little less bad about being slow. That always used to bother me watching speed draw style videos. I'd always wonder, "but how fast are they really doing this??". Not that fast at all, I assure you. 🌟

    Omg you're back! I'm learning spine rn and it's so much fun. I love your videos and your tutorial save me a ton. Though I'm curious, if there is any other alternatives to spine? Upgrading cost so much and I don't think I can afford it as a college. Paying rent is hard enough these days. Dragonbones seem to be discontinue as well somehow. I'm using it for games btw, with unreal and unity runtimes.

      I am back yes! :D I'm glad you're enjoying Spine and that my videos have helped you!
      I don't have much experience myself with alternatives to Spine, but I did find this Reddit thread where some folks chat about alternatives and it looks like there a link from a few months ago to a DragonBones download (I haven't tried it myself though so click at your own risk!)

    I cannot express how pleased I am to see you coming back from your hiatus 🙏.
    I'm a total beginner in animation, and one thing i would love to do in the long run one day, would be to animate detailed 2D artworks !
    While keeping this thought in the back of my mind I tried looking for softwares to use and thus tutorials for beginners too.
    I would have never guessed it was actually crazy hard?? I'm so glad I found your channel. I didn't find any videos other than yours that would cover the entire basics in details, then also give more in depths advices AND ESPECIALLY help us with art prep🙏🙏. That's the step 0 of animating, to prepare your art, but tutorials about this must be very well hidden within youtube's algorithm 😭.
    I subscribed recently and I hoped for new videos to come, props to youtube for putting this video to my homepage so that i don't miss it.
    Either way, this message is getting pretty long. Just wanted to say that you're doing an amazing work with your videos !! 💫 Thank you !
    (Also what a lovely squishy jellyfish :D)

      Aww thanks so much for your message here!!! I'm so glad I can help!! ✨Yeah I did a lot of learning and growing during my hiatus so I hope that all helps me with my return! Finding time to do it all around a 40 hour work week is just SO difficult my goodness!!! 🫠

    0:27 i was wondering how did you select the image first and then put the bones which automatically attach the bones to the image?

    • @itscoz1
      @itscoz1 2 місяці тому

      attaching the bones manually to the image just seems like hassle to i thought thats alot more convinient

    • @Anipalooza
      @Anipalooza  2 місяці тому +1

      @@itscoz1 Yes!! This is a HUGE time save to do!!
      First make sure your images are selectable in the view port otherwise it won't work. Then, in create mode, hold CTRL and click an image. It should be outlined in blue. Now when you draw the bone, it will attach the slot to the bone and rename the bone for you based on the slot's name! You can also do this for multiple images at one time by selecting more than one before you draw the bone. Just make sure you continue the hold CTRL while you select all the images

    Great video! I recently started learning spine and all i gotta say is that is a process in itself, aight? I migrated over from after effects because I really want to dump adobe products, but I find it soo hard to learn the new shortcuts and to adapt my workflow to spine ;v;. Like, before when I was using AE, I was able to do complex animations with variable light sources and collisions, and now I can barely make a square do a 360-degree rotation... Your channel is really a lifesaver for me, and I wanted to thank you for all the effort you put into all of these videos. Your work doesn't go unnoticed even if there are not that many views, the ones that do exist, are from aspiring artists and people you inspire, and I think that I can speak on the behalf of everybody when I say this, thank you!

      Ahhh thank you so much this is so thoughtful and sweet!! 😭
      It’s so funny, I had the opposite experience with After Effects! When I first learned AE it was soo hard because I could do everything faster in Spine. Now I use both depending on what I’m trying to achieve, but I still never do character animation in AE because it’s just soo much easier in Spine (even with Duik being a similar add on I could learn and use for AE 🤪)
      Feel free to reach out to me in Spine Quest Academy if you need any more help with your learning! (Link to it in my description!)
