How to MASTER Spine 2D in 12 Weeks!
Sign up HERE:
animation.thrivecart.com/spine-animator-bootcamp/
We had our very first call in the Spine Animator Bootcamp. It was an amazing time, and I'm thoroughly excited at how many people showed up!
Get a sneak peek into the Spine Animator Bootcamp in this video! Learn all about Spine 2d animation and get a taste of what the course has to offer.
Didn't sign up? We've already started our first week, but you could still get in and have plenty of time to catch up!
Here's what you get for joining in:
+ $1,020 worth of live sessions
+ $4,680 worth of professional level Spine training
+ 50+ assignments with fully prepped animation-ready artwork
+ Over 20 hours of self study videos
+ Recordings of all 12 live classes
+ Direct access to me throughout the 12 weeks via a private Discord channel
+ AND lifetime access to the bootcamp content with any updates to the course modules
If I decide to run it live like this again, it won't be until at least next summer as I'm booked out until then. So if you don't want to wait another year to learn Spine directly from me make sure you get in now!
Feel free to comment or send a DM on Discord if you have any questions!
-----
What we will learn in the course:
Week One - All The Basic Stuff
After week one, you'll already be a Spine animator. You'll learn all of the essential functions of Spine, create your own rig, and animate a character. Everything after week one builds upon these fundamental skills.
Week Two - Skeletons and Rigging
By week two, you'll expand your knowledge of rig anatomy and understand how to build a skeleton for any character body type, no matter how many limbs, accessories, or clothing in their design.
Week Three - Meshing and Weighting
Week four focuses on proper meshing and weighting techniques so that you can control and deform your art in a way that not only looks natural, but keeps your file sizes optimized and game ready.
Week Four - Constraints
You'll build upon your rigging techniques by learning about the different constraints available in Spine, including path constraints, transform constraints, and Spine's newest feature, physics constraints!
Week Five - Animation Techniques
By week five, you'll discover invaluable animation techniques that will speed up your work flow and make animation feel easy!
Week Six - Multiple Views
You'll begin taking your skills into the third dimension by learning how to rig a character with multiple views and then animate it.
Week Seven - FX, Props, Environment, and UI
We'll take a break from complex rigging this week to dive into how to rig and animate non-characters. You'll understand how to think like an FX animator and how to rig for designs that don't have real life anatomy to refer to.
Week Eight - Skinning and Art Optimization
This week's focus will take you through the process of skinning and how to optimize your art for characters with many different skins, looks, and assets.
Week Nine - Getting the Most Out of Spine Animation
Animation principles are universal to animating, regardless of the program or methods you use. That's why this week we will discuss ways of bringing these principles into your animations so that your characters can really come to life.
Week Ten - 2.5D Rigging and Animation
We're learning MAGIC this week! Though Spine is a 2D software, there are clever ways of faking the 3D look within Spine. We'll use various methods to achieve this technique to take your flat 2D images to that beautiful 2.5D look.
Week Eleven - Facial Animation and Lip Sync
In week eleven, you'll learn how to rig a character's face and how to create a system for animating lip syncs using the same techniques used to create Ani's lip syncs in Anipalooza.
Week Twelve - Final Project and Review
You've made it to the final week of the course! You'll have an opportunity to put your new Spine skills to the test and apply them to a final scene of your choice that will make a lasting impression in your portfolio.

Is there any benefit to being the artist and animator or is a niche skill reserved for small studios? Also if I could give an idea for a video it would be about the expectations of programing concepts for spine animators. While for the moment I use Spine just as an animation tool, looking around I find spine users quite skilled in programming concepts and console usage and feels intimidating for people like me who are just starting out.

    • @Anipalooza
      @Anipalooza Місяць тому

There's definitely a benefit if you are an artist and an animator because you could potentially do the whole animated project yourself, but it would potentially slow down production if it's a fast turn around. At the very least, knowing how to prep the art and how to instruct a client's artist to do so will save you a headache as a Spine animator though. And while Spine is regularly used by small studios, it does get used by larger ones too. Neptunia RPG was animated in Spine for example. As for the programming and console usage parts, I've been a Spine animator for over 6 years and I STILL don't know much about how it integrates into a game engine aside from looking up the instructions online and importing it. So I wouldn't be too intimidated by that! It's nice if you know, but not a requirement.
