I hope the expand the pale gardens to contain... actual gardens. How cool would it be? Have a small, woodland mansion type of build, or a graveyard, and maybe a foggy environment, or grayscale the POV entirely while in this biome, and then put a armor trim in it... Easy 30 minutes of adventure and 16 hours of searching for the armor trim, makes a total of 16.5 hours of play time added to your world. It could be so easy
Jokes aside i unironically love the grey garden and creaking. I will definetly stabilish a base in it, the ambience just allures me i cant explain, i just love it.
If they added fog, fireflies, Beta Minecraft darkness, a differently shaped tree, and scary noises that sound like cave noises to the Pale Garden, I would have liked it so much better. Ngl, they have a really good foundation for the biome but right now it’s just a grayscale Dark Forest with a Warden Lite When making biomes for vanilla, Mojang has to either make it feel very connected to the rest of the game or go so out of the way that it still works like another dimension
@@jacobschepannek3876 All it did was make it pointless for many to watch, & frustrated those who did watch with how little else there was. Not a good move
@@ErwinPPP Yeah, but a forest fire wouldn't trivialize the creaking. Even if you don't use flint and steel, natural lava pools can start fire too. And what you said only means that it would be easy to implement.
4:11 Idea: maybe if the pale forest is on fire, the creaking will become “enraged” and move faster, do more damage, and get fire protection / fire resistance? I hope so. Because if not, they’re right. Fire would be way too OP.
The pale garden should've been more special. Like, a "garden" implies a structure, but this is Just a forest. It could've generated differently from other biomes, e.g. with a wall around it and unique structures inside Or it could've been a dimension, like how some mods add themed dimensions
even if they just added new flowers or plants, that would have lent itself way better to the name. as it stands, its just recolored existing blocks with nothing standout other than a mob that is pointless and drops nothing
I was putting my money on the ‘Pale Garden Biome’ being a new variant of that Birch Biome revamp that players have been wanting. (Yes the birch concept art) It made a lot of sense in my head cause it seemed more likely that they would preserve the classic birch and tall birch biomes. Mojang’s Philosophy yadda yadda.
@@pokerusfreak8194 I have a strong feeling that what we are seeing is still just early concepts and it will be more fleshed out when it releases. think kind of like when they first revealed the deep dark compared to what we got
My main thought during basically the entire update reveal was "PLEASE let this be just be super unfinished." It feels like it has potential to be a cool new area, but as it stands I just can't imagine giving any real fucks about it beyond getting my hands on "birch but good"
Take a look at Buzzy Bees. That small update fixed a bunch of stuff while adding incredible features. That's what I and many others want from this update.
In the dev aftershow video they said it's still a work-in-progress and is subject to change. They might release some snapshots with this version but i believe it will be better over time
1.16 didn't have bastions or netherite in the initial presentation. More recently, the mace was teased during the snapshot cycle, not at Minecraft Live.
1:56 Hard Agree. Loved that it was presented in a style for the broader demographic that plays, rather than a children's TV presenter keeping a kid distracted.
Am I wrong or did Jeb not say towards the start we are doing smaller updates SO THAT we can work on long term improvements. Suggesting the team may be working on stuff in the background that doesn't have to hit an annual "big summer update" deadline
in the end one frustration is for certain. The lack of transparency. The best we really have as far as transparency is snapshots, which is great and all, but it really doesn't do much to tell where the game is headed or how it will evolve. I fully support taking some time off from content updates and just working on tweaking the game, whether the content that is already there, balancing of things, or just optimizing the game's performance and such. I just wish they made it clear what their intent is so the community isn't so split or plain hateful.
They've been doing a ton of behind the scenes refactoring to their codebase so hopefully this is them trying to focus even more on that and after a some time with this cycle we end up back with greater content updates and better performance than before (and a whole host of features that benefit the community). It doesn't seem like they do a particularly good job of communicating what they're actually doing to anyone so it just ends with people assuming they're doing nothing and being confused as to why random point releases have mods/servers taking forever to update to.
@crazydragy4233 I think you are not being genuine. For the past 3 years, minecraft has added quite a lot of staff that has changed the game experience. Things like the warden and the mase has been really graet and thought out additions. They also have added a lot of things that the community has been asking for years ( new boss fight, underground structures, wolf armor, updated dungeons, cherry trees). Sure some things could have been implemented better (aka copper bold, swamp update, sniffer) but they defiantly have worked on the game for the past years
They'd just act really petty and make this greyscale oak forest inflammable, which I was fine with for the nether woods, because they live in actual hell, but this is just.. grey oak.
I think it would be cool if the Creaking transformed into a more powerful variant if it's set on fire, like the Pumpkin Spirit and Seared Spirit mobs from the Born in Chaos mod.
Yeah wish they made them more like the willow trees they used for reference rather then dark oak. Also they could of def added more plants and stuff that fit the whole grayscale vibe. It's not really a "garden".
I think the trees might just be placeholders, since they look almost identical to dark oak trees. They probably didn't have the tree models fully fleshed out yet and decided to use dark oak due to its overall similar characteristics (2x2 & dense leaves).
Oh yeah, I forgot the daily dose of new Mojang update/content hating. Not really - They aren't exactly that. They do look fairly similar but have a few slight differences. What I can agree with though is that they need to be more unique when the update is actually released. For The Creaking itself, this is an genuinely cool mob that I really like! With a few changes here and there, some more work and polish, I think it will be an fun, even if a bit meaningless addition to the game!
Yall will complain about ANYTHING- I’m HYPED for the new Pale Garden! The Pale Oak looks sick, can’t wait to build with it! The creaking is HORRIFYING, but I love it!!! I’m already planning a single biome world for Pale Garden
What if instead of being called the Creaking it was called the Freaking, and instead of chasing you when you weren't looking it got freaky when you weren't looking?
I just wish they did more with the pale forest, I mean, the white wood is cool and I'm definitely going to use it, but this is just a Halloween challenge with a neat souvenir and a building block. It's cool, but it doesn't really change anything about the game.
@DontReadMyBio333Uno reverse card* oh wait, you don't have a heart. You're just a soulless message typed out by a basement dweller spammed across the internet. Shame on whoever made this bot.
I kinda like the new mob. I will never experience it since 1.19+ makes me have unplayable lag but it has a cool mechanic in needing to find a block to destroy.
your point on the lag is a drum I’ve been beating for years, tbh I don’t need a new biome if playing the game on my computer is 10-15 fps, what I need is an update that idc how long it takes, that will actually make the game playable. because rn optifine makes my game go from 15 fps to 60+ fps. Why can’t mojang work on that please???
Huh... It didn't immediately occur to me that the Creaking didn't drop anything. I guess it's supposed to play into the idea that the mob itself isn't the actual "mob" or something, but I feel like they could have given it something. Like, maybe make it drop a bunch of pale wood? It'd be worth it if it's at least half a tree's amount of logs. Alternatively they could make it so if you break the heart block without silk touch, it'd drop a unique pale tree sapling, which has glowing patches like the Creaking. Functionally they could make this wood naturally produce some light, and non-stripped logs could pacify/ward off Creaking within close proximity.
Honestly, I believe they will take the usual approach of adding more stuff through snapshots. Remember, the mace wasn't even a thing early in Trials and Chambers.
Mojang: We’re going to prioritize smaller updates so the community can get and leave feedback on new content faster. The community for some reason: “That’s the whole update??!!!!??”
But like still they could've add like anything a little more . Like idk make the new mob drop a whistle to make creepy sounds the biom has nothing going for it except the new wood .
It's not that it's small. It's that it feels unfinished. We got a new biome with a new mob, but barely any reason to interact with it. Even if they plan on adding on to it in the future, adding something small like a flower that only spawns deeper into the forest during night would give a reason for the biome and mob to exist without making the update too big.
@@aquau5777 You can absolutely do unfinished updates, they already did it once with caves and cliffs being split into 2. Sure part 1 had more content, but you could remove half of it and it would still work because nothing really felt dependent on future updates. Something can be unfinished without it mainly feeling unfinished.
I hope they add a structure in the pale garden and make the creaking drop an item that corresponds to that structure. Here are my items I hope it could drop: Pale key (like trial key but for pale garden structure) Vine Armor Trim (trim that looks like vines) Wood (wood)
2:12 mojang is working towards a more modded feel. For example, the deep dark, the trial chambers, the wolf armor, and more. They observed the community wanting an updated version of the dungeon, so they did it themselves. They see things like the cave dweller so they made this new biome.
To be fair, a lot of landmark updates felt modded. Pistons and horses literally came from mods. But also people felt like stuff such as Badlands and Woodland Mansions felt modded when they first came out.
@@UselessAccount-412 ik right they removed the mob vote which was so fun and exciting and now people are wondering why minecraft live is so unintresting I wish we had another biome or mob vote
Am i the only one that enjoyed it? I really liked the change of pace, and the return to a more behind the scenes look as opposed to a show. And i Honestly feel way relieved about the movie after that trailer and all the talk
I talked with some guy who said he was part of the test screening, said it’s a mid movie, but better than what most people think, like a 5-5.5 He also said that at least one writer cared and that they’re were a lot of references to stuff in the community I can’t confirm if he was actually part of a test screeing or not
I mean, we're getting custom content for datapacks as we speak, they literally started working on pushing entities to snapshots amongst other technical changes that are still brewing... Heck, we've seen some stuff that isn't possible in vanilla yet just in the pale garden showcase! All things considered, we're getting a ton of stuff, you just need to squint your eyes and know where to look.
@@rpstephen look who can't read, I explicitly said that most of the juice of the updates is in the technical side to bring it up to speed with Bedrock. We literally have Mojang devs confirming in Fabric's Discord that custom blocks, items and entities are coming in the near future, we have seen pieces of that code leak into the game and some of that is already enabled (eg. item components replacing NBT) In a couple of months, you won't need Mojang.
The community was mad that the latest updates don't have much content in them (especially trails and tales) What does minecraft do? They made updates smaller!
2:06 im the second one. You don't know how happy i was when i heard that bees were added when they're update should've just been a Drop instead. The moment they were added i started a WW2 war against The Bees and a singular Wither. (I'm in Bedrock so that Wither did not show any mercy)
This is my news for minecraft updates. Sounds cool, new wood in a color I've been hoping for them to add, and a mob to go with it. Shame they couldn't have repurposed these trees into some wood variations in the original swamp biome, but I guess this is fine... It not having a bunch of outstanding features feels more like a return to older biomes (positive). Complaints about how there's nothing to do in the new biome seem to miss the point about most of the existing biomes and mobs, though. I never go to roofed forests except to grab dark oak or some mushrooms. You get what you want and move on, or you fancy building in that location and go to town. Mine and craft. Chill out.
also people who say there's nothing to do have missed the fact that you can literally take the creaking heart from the pale garden with silk touch and put it in your base as a player defense
Finally someone gets it. Not everything has to be a game changing addition. Most biomes in the game don’t have significant stuff other than a certain type of block, this is no different. People are just upset because they got used to the huge overhauls like the Nether Update and Village and Pillage
4:02 they should make the Creaking as some kind of pet/warden that protects the players that placed the heart from other players and hostile mobs and doesn't follow the "owner" but receives commands like "stay still" or "attack only when not looking" or "attack hostile mobs" and stuff like that
While i like the gardens, and the vibe, what significance does it have to the greater game? The deep dark gives loot and lore, why should we need to go to the gardens, other than wood? Thats my question. Woops just watched the video.
I'd think that the Mojang team has stuff in the works to make the place more important. Remember that the Deep Dark started out as nothing more than a sculk-y cave with small cobblestone rooms when it was announced. The Pale Gardens will likely receive unique loot and maybe a structure, but it's still not planned to the point that it can be announced. As a wise internet person once said, "Let them cook."
Why does everyone seem to want every little update to have an effect on the game as a whole? Can’t you just be happy with these little extra things to make Minecraft just a bit more interesting and fun? Also it’s in the very early stages so they’ll probably add a bit more
@LeoGaming55 I would agree more if it didn’t clash as much with the rest of the overworld. For the rest of the biomes, aside from the extremely rare mushroom biome, are relatively normal. There’s snowy and ice filled areas, deserts, savannas, plains, forests, and then you’ve got 1930s animation land.
You're using the deep dark as your example? Go back to when it was first shown off. All it had was slightly darker stone, a little camp structure and the warden. That's it. What's stopping the pale garden from achieving the same status eventually?

To give them credit, it took them two fiscal quarters to *brainstorm* and implement two mobs and a new wood. Modders boast about recreating the biome in a day, but it really would've taken them at most a week from scratch. It's still insanely long for what we got, but still, there's at least *some* process to it

@@EinManUif im not mistaken, this is not the full 1.22 update, its a drop update(meaning its possibly a 1.21.3 update), so yeah it will probably release way sooner than usual
You want a new building block in a building game? Are you insane? Don't you know every update has to fundamentally change some core part of the game? We can't just have something cool, with a cool gimmick and a few neat blocks for building. Why? Because... Um....
At least the villager animation short film about the creaking was pretty well done. But yeah, kind of disappointing, would've been better without leaks obviously, but this is also as much as we can hope to expect going forward with smaller updates. The creaking heart puppet might be fun for redstone, who knows.
"Game footage includes work in progress material and early builds. It’s all subject to change!" Between tricky trials and the sheer amount of datapack/resourcepack content, not even including refactoring and bug-fixing, and knowing it will be released by the end of the year, isn’t it ok for a WIP ?
That’s because people only care about the stuff they can see An update that adds a whole new biome is easy to see, but an update that patches a bunch of bugs is not
The problem is the overproduced show to feature it. Before the minecraft live i was like "sure, it's not much but it's nice", but those shows really emphasize how much money and work goes into some vanity presentation, with whole one-shot animations and not into developing the game. They want people to be "hyped", theorycraft, but as the facts are on the table people who were hyped and theorycrafted about the stuff they show are labeled toxic and entitled. It seems like an abusive relationship, where partner scolds you for doing with diligence what they've explicitly asked you for. If it was just a blogpost - hey, we added this, maybe a few previews, without all the corpospeak "we're here to change the world, maximize your enjoyment, we work tirelessly to create worlds for an endless exploration and fun" - i think it would be received better. And i hate the internet police who is there to say "well, it's just a small dev team, it's a free content to a 15 year old game". They have people with titles like "Chief Storyteller", which means someone's whole job was to make this garbage show an unforgettable event for me. They've got paid and they've failed at their job. Why i am supposed to find excuses for them not being able to do their job properly? For free?
Saying they want to do something different with the movie while doing what most movie companies who haven't played the game would have done anyway is not different. And it certainly doesn't make the high brow project they make it out to be.
I feel like the mojang devs that do actually wanna bring complete updates with loot and new features are very limited due to their superiors, wich sucks

I liked the update and the new MOB, I just think they should give a reason to go in this biome, they could also add a light fog to improve the environment, I think they could also change the shape of the trees .
2:32 My guess to as to why the GUI was edited in might because they might have some how turned off the GUI by accident and so edited it in order to prevent people from questioning why the GUI was missing but I could be wrong on that.
If they make the creaking super dangerous and drop something that the community had wanted for a while then the update will be good. The concept is sick there is just nothing to do in the pale garden for now. But remember we thought the same thing about the trial chamber before they added the mace so there is hope.
No more endgame schlop that will become a mandatory checkmark for a list of things you "must do" to reach "full endgame gear", thanks. More laid-back content once in a while for a sandbox game is welcome in my book.
@@mirvi6797 I agree with you when you say that there should not be another thing you “must do” to reach full gear because there is very little to use full gear on right now(I hope that’s fixed in the end update) But the creaking could still be dangerous and be accessible to early game similar to the warden. As for the drop it could easily be the creaking heart itself and be used for a non gear crafting recipe like a locked chest that the community has wanted for a while.
I actually love the idea of the pale garden, having a white wood variant is going to be really cool for builds, I’ve genuinely never been more hyped for a Minecraft update.
I think need to add a few things to make it worthwhile and interesting to go to the pale garden at night. These are my suggestions: - Add fireflies, which only show up at night. Have them look similar to the eyes of the creaking, and have them appear in groups. - make it so you can bottle fireflies, creating a new light source. - make it so that you can only see which wood blocks are creaking hearts during the night. - add new crafting recipes using the creaking hearts I don't expect them to go too overboard with features in this biome, I feel like this is a feasible number of additions. It'll be interesting to see how they expand on it nonetheless
@@ThisIsAHandle-xz5yoit is cool, I'm hoping they add just a bit more things even though they're doing smaller updates now, this one just kind of feels like they didn't add everything for the update yet

Ill be honest. I have given this game so much crap over the years. I was right there on the hate bandwagon before it was a bandwagon. Nowadays? Idk. I rekindled my love for the game. In fact I will soon startup my self hosted server again now that the heat has died down so I can play with friends once more. But as a whole with this update? I dont know. I love it. It feels unique and that is something that the game felt lacking in terms of complexity. Yea ok with got the sniffer which was... tame. And boring. And does nothing. The Creaking though feels interesting. It isnt perfect but I like that it isnt perfect. It isnt tested to hell and back but thats the good part. Its something for some players to love and others to hate. And not the same old same old "Update that everyone will eventually get used to and accept for what it is". Same as the biome. It could be improved upon. Needs fog. More foliage. More athmosphere. But they are taking things in the right direction for once and I am not about to sit here and blame them for trying whereas before it was just the same old same old tame and "safe" bs. This? This I like. I cannot wait to deal with the Creaking for as weird and frustrating as it will be. Finally something that gets me out of my comfort zone. A mob which stops only if you look at it. but to kill it, you have to look away from it. I love that.
it... is a literal copy of a weeping angel and has zero functionality or drops.... how is that actually interesting? You 1: wont see this mob much. If you play on mixed biomes you might see a handful, and if you play on large biomes (cough cough bedrock and realms default cough) you'll probably see it never 2: wont actively seek out this mob, since it has zero functionality and no mob drops that you want/need 3: unless you plan on building with white, or with white accents, even the wood that comes from it isnt actually useful and you have even less reason to find this biome Its fine to think its interesting, its fine to like it... but the reality is that its a nothing sandwich tbh. Its ambiance at best, but for a biome that doesnt have anything worth going into for. Maybe, MAYBE, builders will go gather the hanging moss on the trees in bulk but thats a super niche reason to go to this forest. They really needed to at least add some useful blocks, or ores, or drops, or SOME reason to actually go to the biome to make this interesting gameplay wise. Right now it just exists to exist, and will be ignored in 99% of gameplay
@@pokerusfreak8194 This feels like a clean slate. There are so many creative ways they can take this idea. I hope they dont stop here and let it stay useless.
I couldn't agree more. The trees should definitely look different, but other than that I don't mind if there is no new structure or stuff in it (even tho it would be cool).
@@pokerusfreak8194 Its a nothing sandwich: To you Not to me. I see it and I can think of many different things that this update can easily bring. For one you dont know how the creaking truly spawns. It could infest newly grown trees and spawn in your base and catch you off guard. Are autofarms gonna take care of it the same way as before? Yea no doubt. But if you play casually, this could easilly catch you off guard when you want those trees around. I like to think more around the corners nowadays when it comes ot additions. So lets wait and see where it heads right? As for the "will be ignored in 99% of gameplay" see I used to think very similarily to you. I was very focused on progression gameplay when I was no meds for my ADHD. Just hyper focused on progressing to netherite. Everything else was useless. "No gameplay purpose for the loom? It sucks. Anvil? Who cares, I got Mending from Villagers. Horses? Bah, we can fly! Why should I use a bow and arrow? I literally have a shield!" I think that ultimately it just comes down to how you wish to play. I have personally gone out of my way to play a lot more casual again with the 1.20 update. And it went pretty good. Im actually building up my own home base which, Ima tell you right now, serves no other purpose than to look pretty. All Id need normally is just a bunker, roughly 4-10 blocks wide in each direction and chests. Bam. Thats a base right? But it looks ugly. And I dont like ugly. So lets not judge a book by just its cover. Im sure that as we get to know more, there is gonna be more interesting stuff to see about the creature. Afterall, it hasnt been released yet. And maybe a future patch is gonna make it more interesting even. If you got concerns about it, dont voice them here! Voice them on their forums. Im not telling you to shut up mind. I think your concerns should be heard. But me hearing them is just not gonna help :o
The pale garden is not the next major update, why is that so hard to understand? It's for an upcoming minor update (such as 1.21.3) In the next first halt of the year, we will see in the next MC Live the real next big update, that probably will be released in the summer. So why are people mad? For a "minor update" an entire biome with a new mob with a new mechanic and a new wood pallet is huge if you compare it to, for example with Armored Paws, which was also such a minor update.
honestly im glad for this update, an actually white wood that grows in a very easy to harvest shape is gonna be great for building, but i feel armored paws actually included more, with the whole wolf variants and wolf armor making wolves actually usable in fights instead of just another pet like cats/birds

Like, a "garden" implies a structure, but this is Just a forest.
It could've generated differently from other biomes, e.g. with a wall around it and unique structures inside
Or it could've been a dimension, like how some mods add themed dimensions

Let's be fr... the past couple years it feels like there's been a single employee at Mojang lmao
@crazydragy4233 like tf2 but with content that isn't ripped half-finished from the community workshop
in the end one frustration is for certain.
Sure some things could have been implemented better (aka copper bold, swamp update, sniffer) but they defiantly have worked on the game for the past years
0:29 nah I made my friends explain everything to me
4:26 they should make an event if someone tried to burn it, like getting hunted down by multiple creakers
And then they slowly burn themselves because their cores are in the trees. Be like one attempt at vengeance.
It'd be funny seeing your friend screaming as 7 generations of creaking are chasing him
They'd just act really petty and make this greyscale oak forest inflammable, which I was fine with for the nether woods, because they live in actual hell, but this is just.. grey oak.
I think it would be cool if the Creaking transformed into a more powerful variant if it's set on fire, like the Pumpkin Spirit and Seared Spirit mobs from the Born in Chaos mod.

@DontReadMyBio333 shut up nerd

@@anoniimous I fully agree!

Have you tried recent snapshots? Apparently they did something good for performance in one of them

@@oisin2696maybe it feels unfinished because it literally is and they say as much

Should've added that biome to the end instead, overworld already has enough biomes and an eerie dead forest fits the end perfectly
Finally someone gets it. Not everything has to be a game changing addition. Most biomes in the game don’t have significant stuff other than a certain type of block, this is no different. People are just upset because they got used to the huge overhauls like the Nether Update and Village and Pillage
4:02 they should make the Creaking as some kind of pet/warden that protects the players that placed the heart from other players and hostile mobs and doesn't follow the "owner" but receives commands like "stay still" or "attack only when not looking" or "attack hostile mobs" and stuff like that
I knew this video would come creaking out.
Idk whether to like or dislike this comment
It’s not an endgame biome though, so I don’t mind it just being for new blocks

That’s because people only care about the stuff they can see
An update that adds a whole new biome is easy to see, but an update that patches a bunch of bugs is not
The problem is the overproduced show to feature it. I liked the update and the new MOB, I just think they should give a reason to go in this biome, they could also add a light fog to improve the environment, I think they could also change the shape of the trees .

Lmao these videos remind me that no one hates Minecraft more than Minecraft fans
0:36 I just watched SpongeBob lol
I think need to add a few things to make it worthwhile and interesting to go to the pale garden at night. These are my suggestions:
- Add fireflies, which only show up at night. Have them look similar to the eyes of the creaking, and have them appear in groups.
- make it so you can bottle fireflies, creating a new light source.
- make it so that you can only see which wood blocks are creaking hearts during the night.
- add new crafting recipes using the creaking hearts
I don't expect them to go too overboard with features in this biome, I feel like this is a feasible number of additions. It'll be interesting to see how they expand on it nonetheless

I genuinely wonder if they just do whatever they want for the whole year and then 20 minutes before the update has to come out. They just get someone to sit in front of a computer and make whatever they can.
If you play on mixed biomes you might see a handful, and if you play on large biomes (cough cough bedrock and realms default cough) you'll probably see it never 2: wont actively seek out this mob, since it has zero functionality and no mob drops that you want/need 3: unless you plan on building with white, or with white accents, even the wood that comes from it isnt actually useful and you have even less reason to find this biome
Its fine to think its interesting, its fine to like it... but the reality is that its a nothing sandwich tbh.
The Creaking itself is purely minigame fodder. It’s a mob we didn’t have yet, a Weeping Angel type, though the trolls, oh god the trolls.
@@pokerusfreak8194 Its a nothing sandwich: To you
Not to me.
I literally have a shield!"
I think that ultimately it just comes down to how you wish to play.

You know mojang messed up when the updates start feeling like bad minecraft mods
The pale garden is not the next major update, why is that so hard to understand? It's for an upcoming minor update (such as 1.21.3)
In the next first halt of the year, we will see in the next MC Live the real next big update, that probably will be released in the summer.
